Centrifuge

1. The function :
A centrifuge is a laboratory device that is used for the separation of fluids, gas or
liquid, based on density. Separation is achieved by spinning a vessel containing
material at high speed, the centrifugal force pushes heavier materials to the outside
of the vessel

2. Procedure
a. First, place the surface must be level and firm.
b. Before you open, make sure that the rotor has been stopped
c. Then, place the tubes inside the holes of the rotor. Make sure the tube has
labelled with the solution name or numbers.
d. Balace the tubes in the rotor. If you want to run a tube with 10 mL of liquid,
put another tube with 10 mL of water in the opposing hole on the rotor. If
the liquid has a higher or lower density than water, you must balance the
tubes by mass, not volume
e. After that, close the rotor and press the power button.
f. Set the rotary speed and timer (how long will the centrifuge moves)
g. Click the start button and wait until the centrifuge has stopped
h. Before open the centrifuge, make sure that the rotor has been stopped
i. Then open the centrifuge and take out the tubes from the rotor, don’t forget
to close the centrifuge after finished
j. Finally, press the power button and continuing your next test
