Journal Reflection #4 for 11/09/17

Progression-wise I have taken little steps during this time; however, it could impact my

project overall. Even though I have uploaded things to my website, I haven’t decided on my

theme. Over time I have learned a lot during class, as well as from the lessons about work ethics.

Thinking of the many approaches to take and how I want to present myself. Going through the

skills in lab, I’ve learned to show more respect and sensitivity for the person, especially during

elimination. As the time for clinicals is coming close the mannequins, and skills, and critical

thinking feel more of a reality: that I will be performing these skills soon; also feeling and seeing

the growth as a CNA. Not only am I learning skills for a CNA but also learning how I can situate

myself, learning my preference, to provide the person with good care and safety.

Besides the website I have applied to volunteer at Sunrise Children’s Hospital. Hopefully,

I will hear a response before the month of December: in hopes to get a tour to add to my

capstone.

During these few weeks I’ve been focusing on building my knowledge and skills, as well

as techniques to use to keep the patients safe.
