Task 2: Complete and review of the chord analysis from last lesson.

Task 3: Barber of Seville Analysis - use your score and the recording, answer the
following questions:

1. Which ornament is used in the introduction to the piece?

2. This is a piece of music for solo singer accompanied by orchestra. What name could
be given to this piece?

3. What key is the piece in to begin with?

4. Give definitions for Syllabic and Melisma, which of these is featured most within the
piece?

5. In bars 5-11 the piece modulates briefly to another key. Which key do you think this
is, and how can you tell?

6. Describe the melody in bars 19 and 20.

7. Name the symbol used in bar 66 - how does this change how the music is played?

8. Name and describe the rhythmic device used in bar 78.

9. Describe the melodic feature in bars 93-95

10.Describe the melody in bars 119-122.

Task 4: Vocal music research task - you have 15 minute to individually research your
chosen area of the vocal styles within classical music. After which you will share this
with your classmates. Record your most important thoughts below and post onto the

board using post-it notes. (this should include at least one key composer, one important
piece, the key musical features, how you would identify the style by listening) You
should also create one socrative question and pass this to Mr Scott. In your
presentation, make sure you share this information with you classmates, but don't
reveal that this will be a question in the quiz.
