SAMPLING

STRATEGY
SAMPLING STRATEGY

UNIVERSE:
Diabetic patients in Western Mumbai

TARGET SAMPLE:
Diabetic patients in the age group of 35 – 50 years in Western Mumbai

SAMPLING METHOD:
We will use Non-Probability Sampling because

1. Sampling Frame is not available.

2. Heterogeneity is more as compared to homogeneity.
3. The density of sample population is thin.

SAMPLING PROCEDURE:
In this method we will apply Convenient Sampling.

SAMPLE SIZE:
Sample size for this research will be 100 People.

DETAILS OF SAMPLE:
● Gender – Male and Female.
● Age – Below 50 years.
● Profile – Common people, Businessman, Students, and open for all other
below the age of 50 years.
DETERMINING SAMPLE SIZE:

FORMULA:

In order to determine the sample size we are using the following formula:

n= (Z*S/E)*(Z*S/E)

Where,

n= Number of Elements (Sample Size).

E= Tolerance Limit.

S= Standard Deviation.

Z= Accuracy.

Calculations:

E= 5%

Z= 95%

S=0.527

n= (Z*S/E)*(Z*S/E)

n= (0.95*0.527/0.05)*(0.95*0.527/0.05)

n= 100

Hence, Sample Size is 100 people.
