    EXERCISE 4 SOLUTION

    This correlation is quite straightforward because the units have good lateral continuity (layercake reservoir).
    The datum is picked as a clear gamma (GR) sonic (SONI) marker within a package of shale. This is preferred as a datum
    because it has more chance of being laterally continuous and also might be dated by microfossils.

    It might be tempting to correlate more events, but if you try that you will rarely find two interpretations that agree.
