You will create a visual representation of the island from Lord of the Flies using your text as a guide.
The goal of this project is for you to have an understanding of the setting of Lord of the Flies, as well as
practice in citing important evidence from a text. You may want to draw a map on paper, create a three
dimensional model, or make a computerized version. Using at least 10 direct quotes (with page
numbers) from the text as indicators, make your island to correctly include the locations of the lagoon,
beach, scar, mountain, path, reef, cliffs, jungle, platform, and the other island. Use each of your direct
quotes as a label or identifier on your island (and these labels should be easy to read). Additional
challenge: Be creative, use colors, and make your island pleasing to the eye!

We will hold a “gallery walk” featuring your islands during class on _______________________.
