To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing a letter on behalf of Samantha Davis, a student at the Academy of Mathematics,

Engineering and Science (AMES) that takes music classes with the Performing Arts Department at
Cottonwood High School. As the choir director, I have had the opportunity to see Samantha grow as a
singer, as a leader and as a student getting ready for college.

Samantha first joined the choir program as a ninth grader in my Women’s Choir. She was very shy and
reserved but had a very pretty voice. The four years she has been at Cottonwood, she has grown as
singer, and has also done two years of Concert Choir. This year, she is also singing in Madrigals, our
premiere chamber choir. She has been a very dedicated and prepared alto and very valuable member of
the choir department.

Last year Samantha ran for the 2017-2108 Choir Council, and was voted in by her peers to represent and
serve the Choir and Fine Arts Departments. As a Choir Council member, she has helped in stage
managing choir concerts, planning music tour to California, participated in a haunted hallway to raise
money for the food pantry, and served in many other capacities to help the choir program run smoothly.

Samantha has grown so much this year as a musician, gained more confidence as a young adult, and is
currently deciding whether she wants to major in music or work to become a writer. What ever major
she decides, she will still be a valuable member of a college or community choir as she continues her
talents in music.

I am happy to share my opinion of Samantha, and know she will be a positive and happy force in all that
she puts her mind to. She has been a great musician, leader and grown as a student and person the last
four years and I hope she will continue to bless the future organizations she participates in.

Sincerely,

Mr. Cecil Sullivan
