Professional Statement:

My name is Kelly Honts and I am a Junior Marketing major at Santa Clara University. I am
originally from Austin, Texas but moved to the Bay Area for college due to the variety of job
opportunities in the area. I am extremely interested in brand marketing and believe that my broad
experience with consumer preferences will help me excel in a number of industries.

Last year, I had the opportunity to intern at Here Comes The Guide, an online wedding planning
company, where I helped expand the company’s footprint by adding wedding venues in untapped
markets across the United States. Additionally, this fall I studied abroad in London, where I
interned with the high-end jewelry company Barbara Harris Water Jewels. During my time there,
I worked to create an online presence for the company that increased their customer base and
gave them a younger appeal. Through both of these experiences, I have been able to learn a lot
about online marketing and the importance of a company’s social media presence.

Professionally, I enjoy being challenged and am always looking for opportunities to grow.
Adapting to both California and London, has forced me to become a quick-learner and taught me
to appreciate different work environments. This summer, I am planning to intern as a consultant
in San Francisco. I am hopeful that this opportunity will allow me to learn more about the tech
industry and gain problem-solving skills in different areas.
