During the first week of the Training Program, We had our

orientation wherein we get to know the history of Skyline

Hospital and Medical Center. Through a series of slides, we
were introduced to the owner and head of each
department. We get to know some of the employees and
familiarize ourselves in the hospital. We get to know
different departments from underground to 7th floor. This is
an important task for us to be familiarized in different
departments since we would be distributing memos for
announcements and important documents if necessary.

After a week, we had our very fist observation in

administration of tests
for new applicants. We
did mock testing with our co- intern and had
feedback from our immediate supervisor. We had
an observation on how to do initial interview with
new applicants. One of the most challenging for me
is this: Since this is a hospital and we get to interview
different people, he or she can be a medical
professional and we had to make a decision to pass
or fail them during the initial interview. If I do think
about it in the present, how can we actual ly know
if the applicant was possibly good applicant or a
great medical practitioner during just the initial
interview?

The next week, we disseminate memos for

announcement of December’s events. We get to organize and set up programs for the
employees’ children. We assist in preparing for the Christmas party of the kids of the
employees in SHMC. I was able to experience updating the training cards of the
employees. Since in SHMC, most of the
employees are medical practitioners, they also
get to be trained and attend seminars from time
to time to be updated with the changing needs
of the field. In every seminar, we get to be at the
registration table and get to hear the trainings,
too, a great way to learn!

After a week, we can do initial interview and

administrations of the tests for new applicants. I
also get to sort their curriculum vitae through

1
email and schedule their interviews and exams.

We also get to sort 201 files; these files are confidential records of every employee in
SHMC. We update the records and files on the database of the company.

Every time we had initial interview with new applicants, we get to hear feedback from
our supervisors and some useful techniques in doing interviews. One of the most
memorable interview that I had was with a female applicant and she cried during the
interview, but, oh well, that’s not actually the goal right?

The last week in my training program was more of administering tests and applicant
interview. I get to enjoy that experience, being nervous and fulfilled at the same time
after each interviews.
