Theme: fear

Passage: “I command you: be strong and steadfast! Do not fear nor be dismayed, for the LORD,

your God, is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9, NABRE)

Reflection:

Every day, people suffer from the emotion that trumps almost all other emotions: fear.

Fear impairs you, and prevents you from doing your best. It can also make you do things, or not

do things, that you would not do if this emotion was not present. It is a human emotion, however,

and we all feel it. However, we can take comfort in the knowledge that the Lord is always with

us, and this knowledge should help to alleviate our fears. Ultimately, if we stay true to our goals

and beliefs, and have trust in our Father to protect and guide us, then there is really nothing to

fear.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we pray to You this day to help us to conquer our fears. Help us daily to

be able to face the many fears that we have, and to be able to overcome them. We pray to You,

Lord Jesus, for the strength to not only conquer our own fears, but to be able and willing to help

those around us face their fears. Help us and those that we love to be able to make decisions that

are not clouded by the fear and doubt that Satan places within us. We ask all of these things of
You, O Lord, in the faith that you shall never leave us alone to face our fears without You.

Amen.
