Pre Conference Questions Thursday 11/30/2017

1. What do you want your students to learn from the lesson? (Objective, review, etc)
This unit covers Diagnostic and Therapeutic services. Students have learned the difference
between the two disciplines, the instruments that are used in a patient physical assessment,
collecting patient information and patient history, demographics, Etc. They also have learned to
measure an apical pulse (heart beat) with a stethoscope, and height and weight during Knight
Time C today. During class time today we will learn about vision testing and color blind testing.
We will also begin talking about patient movement and positioning.

2. How do you plan to use technology to deliver instructions? If so, how is this
technology effective to students mastering the standards to be taught? Today I will use
PowerPoint presentation as well as various websites to teach the material. Last night students
had homework that was a continuation from class work not finished in Google classroom. They
were to watch a video on Google classroom and follow a web link (HEALTHIT.GOV) and
answer a questionnaire.
3. How will you differentiate between high and low level students? I do this during Hands-
On instruction and demonstration. For instance, listening to the heartbeat or apical pulse,
students were to listen to their own heartbeat and count their own pulse. They work at their own
individual pace during this time and I float around the room and instruct them individually as
needed.
4. How will you assess student learning?I do this by asking questions during our lesson and
gauging verbal response. Also in written assignment. And written assessment. How will you
check for student learning during the lesson? Again I do this in verbally asking questions
and gauging students responses. What will your steps be when they haven’t learned? If they
don't seem to be getting the information I will present it a different way or from a different
perspective.

5. Describe the class I’ll be visiting. Describe any concerns you have related to this class.
this class is Health Science II. it is a small class with only 6 students. They are a great group!
