Abstract

The current study will use the technique of “performance assessment” to

increase student interest in academic achievement. The quasi experimental
design embedded with qualitative design of action research will be used
with intact classes. The experimental group will be consisted upon 40
students of Pre- engineering student of B-5 class while the control group
will be consisted upon 40 students of pre- engineering B-6. The quantitative
data will be collected through three assessment measures: (1) Unit test, (2)
Science Attitude Scale (SAS) and (3) Science Motivation Questionnaire II
(SMQ-II), while the qualitative data will be collected through an evaluation
form. The t test and correlation test will be used for statistical analysis of
data to measures the differences between experimental and control groups
and collation among the variables respectively.

Keywords: performance assessment, interest in science, attitude toward

science.
