If you were the Research Adviser of this project, what will you suggest to make the study scientifically
sound?

Because the study is qualitative there should be structured questionnaire that the researcher
will use, so that the answers of the participants during the discussion and interviews will be measured at
objectively. If a questionnaire will be made, a pilot study should be done for revision of questionnaires
and for easier item analysis. The validity and reliability of the questions should be computed using
accepted tools which much show high reliability values that will indicate that all the items used for each
component in the questionnaire have a high and consistent reliability values.

The researchers must also justify why a certain hospital will be chosen especially that they are
choosing a certain hospital which they can implement their study with an objective of generating
solutions to problems in current newborn practice.

They should also specify criteria in the selection of respondents such as the age, sex, assignment
area whether Delivery Room or Obstetrics Ward and period of assignment at the aforementioned areas.

In the determination of the barrier, the researcher should have a pre-identified possible barriers
as perceived by the research respondents such as financial constraints, lack of resources, and lack of key
skills, etc.
