Status of Education

Status of Education Report

Education in Egypt is based off a tertiary education system. There are seventeen public

universities, sixteen private schools, eighty0nine private higher education places, and fifty-one

public non-universities. Freedom of education and government have a tension that is not yet

resolved.

In Egypt school is optional, not mandatory. I think that every child should have to go

through at least eight years of education. Education can not only inspire young minds but it can

help students gain more knowledge. 305 of people use the schools in Egypt (Classbase).

The quality of learning in Egypt is extensive. They put a lot of effort into their schools

and have a number of private universities available for their population. Elementary education

are grades 1-9 and ages 5-15. High school is 10-12 ages 15-17. After they are done with high

school they can move on to vocational education which are grades 10-12. This consists of 3-5

year programs. Medical Institutes can be two years and higher technical institutes last four to five

years. Their grading systems have letters to acknowledge how well the students are doing.
Egypt fosters global citizenship by allowing breaks for religious prayers and sacred days.

Their schools lead to technical or medical universities which leads to real life situations. They

accumulate their government within the schools and that is one of the tensions in Egypt.
