Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas Deadline Approaches

SPRINGDALE, Ark. (March 3, 2018) — The Single Parent Scholarship Fund of

Northwest Arkansas has its deadline approaching March 15. Other application
deadlines to apply for this scholarship are October 15 (for the Spring Semester), and
June 15 (for the Fall Semester).

The Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Northwest Arkansas has been developed to help
single parent families become financially stable and independent. This is done completely
through financial assistance to support he or she in academic studies.

SPSF NWA alongside the Survey Research Center at the University of Arkansas
created a survey in which the past and present applicants had and have higher levels of
education and income, increased rates of home ownership, higher rates of full-time
employment and health insurance for adults, reductions in family, governmental and
other types of aid received, and increased contributions to community organizations.
There are significant benefits for the recipients of this scholarship. It not only affects
the individuals but surrounding communities.

The Single Parent Scholarship Fund offers scholarships and varied services through its
community-based affiliates. Awarding seven $150 scholarships in Benton County in its
inaugural semester and eight $300 scholarships in Washington County in its first
semester, the Single Parent Scholarship Fund paves the way for hope and opportunity for
thousands of single parents in the state of Arkansas.
