Directions: Over the last few days, we talked briefly about the idea of density.
Today you will be doing your own experiment on density. The experiment will
involve combining water, dish soap, maple syrup and oil into a bottle. Based off
of your understanding of density, what do you think will happen? Fill in your
hypothesis below.

2. As you are doing the experiment, write down any notes you need to remind
yourself about what happened throughout the process. This can be done
on the back side of this sheet. Include what steps you took during this
experiment as well as your thinking process.

3. Now that you’ve completed the experiment, were you correct in what you
thought would happen? Why or why not? Why is this how the liquids
appeared in the bottle? Write your answer below, and draw a visual of
what the bottle ended up looking like. –Don’t forget to label everything!
