1] Let’s talk about traveling and holidays.

There is nothing quite like traveling, like seeing a new place for the first time or returning to
a favorite place. People of all ages, from all countries, travel to foreign places for many
different reasons – namely work, family and leisure. Whether by plane, train, ship or
automobile, travel is generally a pleasurable experience, at least for the people who can
financially afford comfortable and safe methods of travel .Traveling around this wonderful
world is the most interesting thing to do in my life. When I decide to visit some cities, I get to
excite to plan for every thing. For example, tickets, hotels. Also, I look for the best place to
visit in this city. Travelling is the kind of activity, which almost all the people love. For
someone it is an opportunity to relax and abstract from everyday busy life. For others it is
interesting to observe the way people of other cultures and mentality live. Some people
consider it to be the best way to have fun and always try to visit as many clubs, pubs,
restaurants and cafes as possible for their wallets and time limits.
I like Hungary and foreign countries as well. Our family goes on holiday every summer
usually to a foreign country, but we also have some shorter holidays when we choose a place
in Hungary. We don’t like package tours. It’s my mum who organizes our holidays. We
usually pack some clothes, cleaning stuff, important documents and maybe some food as
well, In my opinion, it is not your destination that matters but the people who you spend your
holiday with and the things you do during your stay. As Hungary is a member of the EU,
Hungarian citizens need an identify card to travel in Europe. If you travel to countries that are
not members of the EU, you need a passport and you may also need a visa. If we travel
abroad we have to take foreign exchange or credit cards with us. It is also advisable to have
travel insurance. Our last vacation was brilliant. We went to Eger with my parents, my sister
and my brother. Our trip was fast and comfortable. We traveled there by car. All in all it took
4 hours to get there from home. We stayed there for 10 days. We really enjoyed it. We stayed
at a private apartment. The weather was sunny and hot. We got up late every day, had
breakfast and then we went to the thermal bath, the zoo, the castle of Eger. In the evenings
we had dinner at a restaurant. We also went for a stroll in the city centre, did some shopping.
2] Szituáció
Go to the ticket office and ask for information about trains to Budapest. Choose a train
that leaves in the afternoon and buy a ticket.
Examiner: Good morning.
Me: Good morning. I’d like a ticket to Budapest, please.
E: Which station?
M: Nyugati-station or West station.
E: A one-way ticket or a return ticket?
M: A return ticket.
E: When do you want to return?
M: I’m not sure. I would prefer an open-return ticket.
E: All right, first or second class?
M: First class. How much is it?
E: First class is £80.
M: Where does the train leave from?
E: From platform 9.
M: … and when exactly? Maybe in the afternoon? I would rather prefer that one.
E: At 10.35 am. and at 2:25 pm.
M: The second one, please. All right. Excuse me, just one more question. When does it arrive
in Budapest? E: At 18.34 pm.
M: Here’s the money. Thanks for you help. Have a good day. BYE.
E: These are your tickets. Bye.

3] Képleírás
These pictures are connected with Budapest. Budapest is the capital city of Hungary. It has a
population of about 2 million. It lies on the River Danube, and has two parts: Pest and Buda.
Budapest is famous for many things. Tourists come from all over the world to visit its historic
buildings, such as the Houses of Parliament, the Buda Castle Quarter, The Chain Bridge and
the Heroes Square. They also come to visit its theatres, museums and its many shops, such as
Arena Plaza, where you can buy anything. And of course they want to visit its biggest free-
time centre, Millenáris, and want to ride on the chairlift next to the river. Like many big
cities, Budapest has problems with traffic and pollution. Many people a day use the
underground, trolleys, trains, buses, but there are still too many cars on the streets. The air
isn’t clean, and it isn’t cleaner than it was 100 years ago. I have already been to Budapest for
several times. I’m not lying if I say, I’ve already seen almost everything there. For me, the
best thing about Budapest is the shops. There are more than twenty big shopping centres in
Budapest. The children’s favourite place is the Palace of Miracles where they can have a
fantastic time.
