Computers are wonderful machines. They are everywhere and society depends on them to manage our world. It is no wonder
that computers have almost unlimited applications, Many of these applications are benefiting society directly or indirectly. The
three most important ways computers are benefiting society, is by, creating more information technology professions, creating
new automobile safety features, and opening ground-breaking communication methods. There currently exist many other
beneficial functions of these machines, such as their use for diagnosing patients, running weather simulations to predict
future weather patterns, and calculating large, complex data sets. As new applications emerge for computer systems, so will
the benefits society will derive from them.
Say the checkouts in supermarkets did not use computers you would be standing in the checkout for a long time as the cashier
would have to write down all of your items and work out your total in their head.
Computers become very useful for the presentation of schoolwork, it makes the creating of long pieces of writing quicker and
easier, they are more presentable and readable. Pictures or animations can be added with only a few clicks of the mouse,
instead of having to draw them out by hand. Computers are able to access a very large amount of information and data,
information on everything known to man is available to access and read or download from the Internet.
Computers can be used by all ages, young people i.e. teenagers can use them to communicate with their friends online with
ease, and doesn't cost a penny. Pcs can be used for fun and recreation activities, this is a great way to relax and have a bit of
fun, and online gamming is a great way to meet new people from all over the world. With the rate that computers are updating
gaming is becoming more and more life like.
Without computers the bills you receive would be hand written, would probably only receive one a year and would be a lot
more expensive, in fact I am sure you probably wouldn't have electricity, or telephones as it is computers that control all of
them.
Well, the advantage of having a computer is: going online, typing documents, finding information, playing games, setting up
accounts ( iPod, camera, videos, shopping, ect.) and lots and LOTS more than just that. The only disadvantages is that
sometimes computers get viruses, you know, if you click on something, because your computer holds all information about you,
including: credit card number, bank accounts, your zip codes, email address, and so on. But other than that, having a computer
is great.
Computers allow us to talk to anyone in the world. I think that is both an advantage and a disadvantage. Computers also allow
us to work from home legitimately. There are disadvantages to that as well. When you work from home, you can become
rather lonely.
In spite of continuously reducing prices, computers are still costly as compared to the pen and pencil they replaced.
Use of computers require additional efforts in form of developing software and learning to use computers.
Once an application on computer is developed and implemented, it becomes difficult to make even minor
modification.
Excessive use of computer for communication and keeping in touch with others threatens to reduce the intensity of
personal bond that often develops between people.
They rely on electricity, hence limit their reliability.
They are quite expensive.
They cause finger and eyesight disorders.
People do not communicate with each other as much (they use websites like Facebook instead).
Humans are increasingly dependent with the help of computers.
Computers do the work in accordance with the human command, if there are errors, computer still working on these
errors.
In my opinion computers in today's society are a great advantage, and are needed a great deal.
