To Whom It May Concern:

From the onset in August 2017, Tyler Kahn has been a welcome addition as a university intern to Gearld
Wright Elementary school's 6th grade team. I have had the distinct pleasure of serving as his intern
coach and mentor from the beginning. Mr. Kahn’s growth as an educator has been rapid and
impressive.

Mr. Kahn typifies a calm and respectful tone with his students and from my observations, they respond
to him in kind with equal respect. He is quick to listen and fosters an open, democratic forum with his
6th grade students. I have, on many occasions, been witness to quite a few stimulating classroom
discussions on various current events. Most of his students are eager to participate in these meaningful
topics.

Throughout this intern year, Tyler has shown an innate awareness of what is required of an effective
teacher. He is attuned to the academic, emotional, behavioral and cultural needs of each of his
students. He has handled some delicate situations this year with tact and promptness, but at the same
time has been quick to seek counsel when it was necessary. As a cooperating team member, Tyler has
worked well with a veteran group of 6th grade teachers with humility and a spirit of “pull your weight”
with respect to his duties and extracurricular activities.

Mr. Kahn adapted to our school culture and learned quickly. He is now exceptionally proficient in the
use of educational technology and Granite School District's software programs that are necessary for
record keeping, instruction and assessment.

Mr. Kahn is a strong, knowledgeable educator. He will continue to grow and refine his craft; and in doing
so will be a valued member of his school faculty.

Sincerely,

Jason Douglas Sikes, M.A. Ed.
