Question 1 Professionalism is a way of life, and a professional person is one who engages in an activity that requires a specialised and comprehensive education, and is motivated by a strong desire to serve humanity and community. (a) Discuss the importance of professionalism in engineering students. (7 marks) (b) Discuss possible ways on how engineering students can gain/ obtained/ get the involvement of community in undertaking a project. (8 marks) (©) Suggest how engineering students in a university environment can equip and prepare themselves to professionally serve the community. Someone with critical thinking skills is able to understand the logical connections between ideas to solve problems. (a) Discuss the characteristics of a critical-thinker that can lead to creative ideas. (7 marks) (b) Presenting innovative ideas to others require a great deal of knowledge, skills and practice. Suggest some useful methods to be considered in expl ng new ideas to others. (8 marks) (©) Engineering students will have to present their individual engineering project to assessors as part of the requirements in Engineering Final Year Project. The project presentation will discuss some engineering concepts and results gained from experiments to support the understanding of the concepts. Suggest how student could innovatively plan for his/ her success in presenting the ideas/ finding during this Project Presentation. The errors can lead to different conclusions and the understanding of engineering and technical concepts. (@) Propose some steps to be taken by engineering students to reduce errors in conducting laboratory experiments. (7 marks) (b) Give two (2) examples of graph plotting (type of graph) commonly used presenting the findings from laboratory experiments, Explain the characteristics of each type of graph mentioned. (8 marks) (©) Discuss how statistical analysis that includes graph plotting and error analysis can help engineering students to present the findings in laboratory report/ submission.
