To whom it may concern,

At the beginning of this year I was asked to welcome a Teacher Candidate into my
classroom. I welcomed Jamee Stearns, with a smile and a readiness to share all of the
knowledge I gained in teaching, so we could collaborate and create a great team to
enrich the futures of our students. Jamee came ready to learn, teach, and collaborate.

On the first day in my classroom she made a point to get to know every single one of my
students. Jamee knows the importance of relationships. She makes sure every student
knows that she is there to support them while maintaining an environment where
students independently flourish.

The skill I most admire about Jamee is her ability to receive and respond to feedback.
Jamee takes all of my offered feedback, asks questions and then, sure enough I see it in
the next lesson of her teaching. Her willingness to fail, shows her drive to succeed in her
teaching craft.

Jamee and I have worked closely using data and Bridge to Curriculum to drive our
instruction. With support from resources like Math expressions, Lucy Calkins Reading,
Fundations, Orton Gillingham, and Guided Reading resources. Jamee brought
knowledge, analysis, organization, and ideas to planning. All of these skills make Jamee
a natural at responsive teaching.

Finally and most importantly, I want to bring your attention to Jamee’s positive classroom
environment. She keeps the room happy, laughing, and buzzing. My favorite sound is the
sound of kids learning, and I get to listen to it everyday in an environment that Jamee has
fostered. Teaching at a Title 1 school means our kids need a safe place first, and that is
what they get in Jamee’s classroom.

It is for these reasons and so many more that I recommend Jamee Stearns for a teaching
position because she will bring light, analysis, and drive to your school.

Kind regards,

Lauren Miller
