Throughout my time at Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic, I had the opportunity to explore
and delve deeper into my career interests with the assistance of the Career Development
Program. I have always been interested in social work, international relations, or education. I am
still interested in pursuing this type of career and have decided to major in International
Relations and Global Studies at the University I attend following graduation. International
Relations and Global Studies include courses that study the economies, policies, and
organization similar to the Peace Corps global initiative Let Girls Learn. Let Girls Learn works
in developing nations to ensure the equal opportunity for education in the world. To work in this
type of career field, a person needs passion, flexibility, and understanding. I believe that I
possess these qualities and would be able to help make a difference in the world by pursuing this
career. Through the World Language Club at North Catholic, I went out of my comfort zone and
traveled Europe for two weeks. This experience helped me witness different cultures and people
in our world, and sparked my interest in global studies and relations. This past Summer I
volunteered in Webster Springs, West Virginia to rebuild homes and improve the community. I
realized the socioeconomic barriers these people faced and made me wonder how this issue can
be addressed through politics, education, and economic development. The Career Development
