-Service terminal is a visual display terminal connected to the PCU2 through a

serial or an Ethernet interface.
-Service terminal is a specialist tool and it is used in monitoring the system as
well as in fault investigations.
-You can start a service terminal session either on
1) a service terminal physically connected to a computer unit
2) Via an Ethernet interface using the Telnet protocol
3) Via the MML terminal by establishing a remote service terminal
session using the appropriate MML command.

-In PCU2 the service terminal functionality is based on OSE shell running on
a controller processor.
-DSPs do not have a direct service terminal interface.
-Commands to the DSPs are sent via the controller processor (PQ2).
