Dear Mrs Davis :

Being experienced with a troubling home life, and a passion for the understanding of the
adolescent mind, I am applying to be a shadow/intern for you to further understand the human
mind, and how to help students that are at academic, and mental risk. I believe if I were to become
your shadow, I could become a great mediator in order to lead the future generation on the right
path.

Coming from a broken home, being homeless for a span of 9 ½ months, and overcoming a brutal
depression while keeping up with my grades, and staying on the right path has lead me on a
spiritual and academic journey towards the understanding of the adolescent mind, and how to help
others overcome tough situations like I did. I would be honored to learn from someone like you
that has seen hundreds of at risk teens live a troubling life come out of it stronger than ever- by
giving them an ear to lend, and a shoulder to lean on.
