HIGH GRAVITY

PRISON BREAK

Written by

Gerald Prophete
FADE INTO:

EXT. WAREHOUSE - DAY

A banged up HOVER CAR riddled with bullet holes pulls up

outside a dingy looking warehouse. The skyscrapers of the
nearby city can be seen in the distance, but we're in a
neighborhood full of broken, abandoned homes.

INT. VINCENT'S HOVER CAR - CONTINUOUS

VINCENT VALE, thirties. Strong features, 5 o'clock shadow. A

man that's found himself in a bad situation.

ON VINCENT-- Sweating bullets. Unbalanced heavy breathing.

He starts repeatedly punching the steering wheel in ANGER.

He takes his hands off the wheel and lays his head back
against the seat, trying to maintain his composure.

BRAND (O.S.)
(over comms)
Vincent?! Vincent, are you there?
Come in! Please tell me you made it
out.

Vincent reaches for his two-way radio COMM DEVICE in the

passenger seat.

VINCENT
(into comms)
I'm here. I'm... I'm fine.

BRAND (O.S.)
(over comms)
Oh, thank God.

VINCENT
(into comms)
Did you guys get out okay?

BRAND (O.S.)
(over comms)
I had to shoot my way out, but I'm
fine. I picked up Dmitri before the
space forces got to him.

Vincent sighs and brushes his hand over his face in stress.
2.

VINCENT
(into comms)
Alright, listen... get into contact
with Alonzo and meet at the
warehouse. And be careful.

BRAND (O.S.)
(over comms)
Copy.

Vincent looks in his rear view mirror.

In the backseat behind him...

A Woman who used to be called MAGGIE. She's been shot and

lost a tremendous amount of blood. Her pretty blonde hair
now partly stained with blood. Blood has covered both her
and the backseat.

INT. BATHROOM - CONTINUOUS

The bathroom doors swing open. Vincent carries Maggie's limp

body and rests it on the floor, up against the wall.

Vincent looks upon her face, as his own is overcome with

emotion. He takes her hand and cradles her in his arms. He
embraces her, muttering something under his breath.

Finally, Vincent lets her go and stands up to wash his

hands. Traces of blood in the running water go down the sink
drain. He splashes some water on his face and breathes a
heavy sigh.

Muffled SHOUTING comes from the next room. Vincent turns.

INT. WAREHOUSE - CONTINUOUS

A HEATED argument is taking place.

BRAND, thirties, an attractive brunette, with a cut on her

forehead and some dry blood on her neck.

DMITRI, thirties, Black, clothes ripped and scuffled.

The two of them yelling at--

ALONZO, thirties, an intimidating man. Tattoos on his arms.

BRAND
What the fuck were you thinking?! You
didn't have to shoot them!
3.

ALONZO
They made a move.

DMITRI
What move?! They were on the floor
like we left them. The entire time!

ALONZO
A teller sounded the alarm. One of
those people on the floor had a gun.
I saw him reaching for it. Had to be
an off-duty cop, or somethin'.

DMITRI
You lyin', man. I was looking right
at you!

Dmitri takes a breath and calms himself.

ALONZO
I know you're all super pissed, but
you gotta listen to me...

BRAND
It was supposed to be a robbery,
Alonzo. A simple heist. Not a blood
bath. Dead cops, and dead civilians?!

VINCENT (O.S.)
You son of a bitch!

Vincent enters and PUNCHES Alonzo down to the floor.

ALONZO
Vincent, you need to be cool.

VINCENT
We had the diamonds. I said, "Let's
go!" But you wanted to be a Madman
and start shooting. Turn the place
into a fucking bullet festival.

ALONZO
(getting up)
I warned them what would happen. I
told them straight out if any of them
made any sort of move at all, they'd
get a bullet. They didn't wanna
listen, and got what they deserved.

Vincent looks at him in confusion and disgust. The

unimaginable bastard is trying to defend his actions.
4.

VINCENT
The hell's the matter with you?

ALONZO
What's the matter with you? It's not
the first time we've shot at people,
or been shot at.

VINCENT
If we left when we did, we wouldn't
have had to outrun the cops and
Maggie would still be alive.

DMITRI
Maggie's... but I thought...?

VINCENT
She's lying dead in the bathroom.

DMITRI
How?

VINCENT
How do you think? The cops shot her.

Brand runs her hand through her hair and starts pacing.

BRAND
Shit, this is bad. So many cops
swarmed that place, we're lucky we
got outta there alive. I never seen a
response time so fast.

ALONZO
Tell me somebody's got the diamonds
somewhere. I didn't go through all
this to end up with nothing.

DMITRI
Relax, I got 'em. Listen, I don't
know about the rest of y'all, but we
need to get a move on. It's too hot
to just be standing around here. If
the space cops find us, they're going
to shoot first and ask questions
later.

ALONZO
He's right. They could be on their
way now, and driving fast.

Vincent pulls out a blaster and points it at Alonzo.

5.

VINCENT
We're not done here.

Brand and Dmitri are frozen in place, unsure of what to do.

ALONZO
Vince, we ain't got time for this
now.

VINCENT
Gimme one good reason. One. Good.
Reason, why I shouldn't blow your
brains across this floor.

Everybody's attention turns to the Faint sound of POLICE

SIRENS in the distance.

ALONZO
How's that for a reason?

Brand moves to Vincent.

BRAND
Vince, we need to go. Now.

Vincent keeps the gun and his gaze on Alonzo.

ALONZO
Moment of choice, Vince. You wanna
walk away and live to see tomorrow,
or spend the rest of your life in
prison? In less than a minute, this
whole place is gonna be surrounded by
space force officers, and this time,
we're not gonna be so lucky. I don't
know about you, but I can't afford to
go to prison right now. So, you can
either put down the gun, so we can
clear outta here. Or shoot me.

Vincent wants nothing more than to blow Alonzo's brains out,

but he composes himself and lowers the gun.

EXT. CITY STREETS - DAY

Three HOVER CARS speed away from the warehouse.

INT. VINCENT'S HOVER CAR - CONTINUOUS

Vincent DRIVES, constantly looking back at his rear view

mirror. Brand sits in the passenger seat.
6.

VINCENT
(into comms)
Everyone listen, take alternate
routes. Rendezvous at the spaceport
in ten minutes. We'll leave
immediately.

Vincent and Brand trade looks.

VINCENT (cont'd)
I know, I know.

BRAND
I'm done with him, Vincent. I'm tired
of his shit.

VINCENT
We'll cash out the diamonds, give him
his cut and let him go.

Vincent looks to his right. A second HOVER CAR pulls up.

ALONZO is behind the wheel.

INT. ALONZO'S HOVER CAR - CONTINUOUS

Alonzo lowers his window, and looks in Brand and Vincent's

direction. He brandishes a weapon and points it at them.

EXT. CITY STREETS - CONTINUOUS

Without thinking, Vincent RAMS Alonzo's Hover Car, causing

the pistol to fall out of the window.

Alonzo THROWS the wheel hard left and SLAMS Vincent's Hover
Car even harder.

INT. VINCENT'S HOVER CAR - CONTINUOUS

Vincent steers the wheel in the direction the Hover Car

skids, and steadily regains control.

VINCENT
Goddamn it!

BRAND
Watch out, Vincent.

Vincent moves his head back. Brand has her own pistol and
starts opening fire at Alonzo's Hover Car.
7.

BRAND (cont'd)
Motherfucker!

EXT. CITY STREETS - CONTINUOUS

Both Hover Cars are flying down the streets. Several Police
Hover Cars BARREL down after them in the distance.

Alonzo SLAMS on the gas and pushes ahead of Vincent. He

moves forward and turns until he's horizontally blocking
Vincent's path in the street.

Vincent tries to move out of the way, but it's too late. His
hover Car COLLIDES with the side of Alonzo's.

It tips over and FLIPS almost a dozen times until it lands

on its back, becoming a steaming, smoking pile of wreckage
in the middle of the street.

INT. VINCENT'S HOVER CAR (WRECKED) - CONTINUOUS

There's glass everywhere. Smoke is coming off the Hover Car.

Vincent is bruised up with blood and cuts on his face.

VINCENT POV-- Alonzo's Hover Car is several yards away. His

view is a little hazy, but his vision eventually clears and
his eyes meet Alonzo's from several yards away.

Alonzo stares right back at him. The look of betrayal.

As the Police sirens grow in volume, Alonzo drives off,

leaving his former partner behind.

Vincent looks over to Brand, whose head is stained with

blood. He reaches over and checks for a pulse, but there is
none. She is DEAD.

EXT. CITY STREETS - CONTINUOUS

Vincent weakly crawls out of his Hover Car. Banged up,

bruised, and unprepared for--

POLICE CHIEF (O.S.)

Don't move!

Vincent turns his back to see--

DOZENS of SPACE POLICE OFFICERS -- all with their weapons

trained on him. Police Hover Cars stopped everywhere.
8.

POLICE CHIEF
Face on the ground, and put your
hands behind your head.

ON VINCENT: He looks around at the frightening sight of gun

barrels pointed at him. He looks to his dead friend, Brand,
one last time, and starts looking around, seeing if he has
any options. Any sort of moves left at all.

There's none. He sighs in defeat. The show is over.

Vincent turns over on his stomach and puts his hands on his
head. The Cops immediately cuff and take him into custody.

EXT. DOCKING BAY - LATER

Sitting in the large docking area is a large dual-winged

interplanetary spacecraft. Sleek, stylish, and colorful.

It has "GOODBYE" painted in Red on the hull.

Alonzo is pacing back and forth in front of the ship,

checking his watch.

Dmitri finally enters with a satchel.

DMITRI
Hey!

Alonzo turns to face him, frustrated.

ALONZO
Where the hell were you?

DMITRI
The streets are crawling with cops,
man. I had to take a different route
to get here.

Alonzo stares him down.

DMITRI (cont'd)
Where are Vincent and Brand?

ALONZO
I don't know. You got the diamonds,
right?

DMITRI
You don't know? Well, what the hell
you standin' around here for? Let's
go get 'em.
9.

ALONZO
No.

DMITRI
No? What--?

Alonzo points his pistol at him.

DMITRI (cont'd)
Alonzo...

ALONZO
Gimme the diamonds, Dmitri.

Dmitri clutches the satchel to his chest.

ALONZO (cont'd)
I'm not asking.

Alonzo fixes his gaze on Dmitri, watching him slowly inch

his hand over to his waist to get his own gun.

ALONZO (cont'd)
You reach for that gun, I'll kill
you.

Dmitri decides not to tempt fate, and reluctantly releases

the satchel. Alonzo GRABS it.

DMITRI
You're fucking crazy, man. Why are
you doing this?

Alonzo gives him a look. It's actually killing him, pointing

the gun at Dmitri. Remorse, almost.

He pulls the trigger and SHOOTS Dmitri. The BLAST throws

Dmitri to the floor. He's not moving.

Alonzo peeks into the satchel of diamonds. He looks over the

docking area once more, then boards the ship.

INT. INTERROGATION ROOM, SPACE FORCE STATION - NIGHT

VINCENT, bruised and in chains, sits at a table staring off,

locked in thought. Contemplating his situation.

A two-way mirror in front of him and a camera with a red

light stares down at him from the corner ceiling.
10.

The door opens. SAMANTHA VALE, thirties, a beautiful,

sharply dressed Lawyer enters. Vincent's sister. She takes a
seat across from him.

SAMANTHA
Dear sweet baby brother, you look
like a man who could use one last hot
meal before they send you off to the
clink. It's nice that you remembered
my number, by the way.

VINCENT
Who was I gonna call, Sam?

SAMANTHA
It's taking a lot for me not to
respond with Ghostbusters.

VINCENT
I am really not in the mood for your
jokes right now.

SAMANTHA
Vince, you're lucky I even answered
the phone. I had to leave my husband
alone with two sick kids. I don't
hear from you for months, and when
you finally decide to call me, you're
in jail?

VINCENT
I can explain.

SAMANTHA
Please do.

VINCENT
We were pulling a job at some diamond
place. Alonzo went crazy and started
shooting everyone because he thought
one of the guards or tellers made a
move against him. He ran me off the
road while we were escaping, then
drove off to let me get captured. If
I'm going to prison, I want his ass
in there with me.

SAMANTHA
Fat chance we can even find him now.
If I was Alonzo, I would've gotten as
far away from this part of the galaxy
as possible to somewhere outside of
the space forces' jurisdiction.
11.

VINCENT
That son of a bitch. The next time I
see him--

SAMANTHA
You don't get to be mad, and blame
other people. The blame lies with
you, and you alone.

Vincent gives her a confused look.

VINCENT
What?

SAMANTHA
Vincent, you run with a crew space
pirates. You stole from people, beat
people up, blew places up, and I
think you once helped import drugs.
You're my brother, I love you, but
don't talk to me like you're self-
righteous 'cause you're not.

Vincent sighs and sits back in his chair.

SAMANTHA (cont'd)
(sighs)
Look, I'm going to be straight with
you. It doesn't look good. They've
got you for class one assault, theft,
robbery, and whatever else they're
probably gonna dig up and find. Three
people died, your friends, I assume,
and not to mention the people at the
diamond place, and a few cops. Since
Alonzo is M.I.A., they're pinning the
whole thing on you. You're looking at
a life sentence.

Vincent rubs his hands over his face in stress. He can't

believe this is happening.

VINCENT
I didn't kill anybody. That was all
Alonzo. I may have done some bad
things, but murder isn't one of them.
Isn't there anything you can do?

Sam gives him a somber look, then shakes her head. Vincent
lowers his head.

VINCENT (cont'd)
Where are they sending me?
12.

SAMANTHA
The Hanar facility on Galveon.

VINCENT
The high gravity prison?

SAMANTHA
The very one. I'll pull up the data
for you.

Sam places a handheld device on the table. With the touch of

a button, a green light emits from it. A large hologram of
the planet emerges in front of us.

SAMANTHA (cont'd)
The gravity is only 1g along the
equator, but most of the planet, and
where the prison is situated is 3gs.

VINCENT
So I'd weigh three times what I
normally weigh.

SAMANTHA
That's exactly right. Your body will
adapt over time, but you'll still
feel a little weird. The gravity can
go up to 6, or 7gs at the poles.
People have been known to die at that
kind of force.

VINCENT
It'll make it harder to break out.

SAMANTHA
I hate to discourage you, Vince, but
nobody, and I mean nobody has ever
broken out of that place.

A KNOCK at the door. The hologram ends. An OFFICER enters.

SAMANTHA (cont'd)
This is where we say goodbye,
brother. I'll try and visit.

VINCENT
Don't give up on me yet, Sam.

Samantha gives Vincent a look and leaves the room.

13.

EXT. SPACE - LATER

A transport ship heads for a small, gray looking ball in the

middle of the stars -- the prison planet of GALVEON.

INT. TRANSPORT SHIP - CONTINUOUS

Vincent looks out the window with these bulky, mechanical

handcuffs over his wrists with a blinking red light.

He's joined by a few other prisoners in this narrow, dimly

lit transport ship. Almost like a small prison of its own.

HACKETT, a human man with a shaved head and scars all over
his arms.

EISMA, a Blue skinned Humanoid Alien Woman with black hair.

And TROS, another Alien with Snow white skin and a spider
web tattoo on his neck.

EXT. GALVEON - DAY

The surface is no more than a barren desert. Grey sand dunes

that seem to stretch on forever. Instead of a blue sky you'd
normally see, the sky on Galveon is a dark, yellow color.
Beautiful, but spooky.

A large facility lies smack dab in the middle -- THE HANAR

HIGH-GRAVITY PRISON.

INT. TRANSPORT SHIP - CONTINUOUS

Vincent looks out the window and his eye catches something.

VINCENT POV-- Somebody running...

EXT. GALVEON - CONTINUOUS

It's a MAN. Simply known as PERCY. He runs through the gray

sands, sweating like an animal, fleeing for his life.

Mechanized whirring sounds in the distance. Approaching

fast. Percy's been running fast, but whatever is after him
has already caught up.

He continues running and we see what's chasing after him--

THREE GUARD ROBOTS! ARMORED, MINIATURIZED MECHS!

14.

All of them painted Black with a single red robot eye. They
roll across the ground like tanks, but a little faster.

INT. HIGH GRAVITY PRISON - MOMENTS LATER

Mechanical sliding doors open and the ship enters a hangar

area and descends to the ground.

The ramp opens and the SECURITY GUARDS lead the prisoners
out. They all stand shoulder-to-shoulder in front of--

WARDEN ANDREW HARTLEY, forties, smirking and standing in a

fine Blue suit. Chest all out, and flanked by two Guard
Robots. A clear inflated sense of self, and a face you just
want to punch.

LEON WILSON, thirties, handsome, Captain of the Guard, waits

along with them.

LEON
Eyes front!

The inmates all look at The Warden.

HARTLEY
Welcome inmates. Today is the first
day of the rest of your lives. This
handsome gentleman to my right is Mr.
Leon Williams, my Captain of the
Guard. I am The Warden. My name is
Andrew Hartley, but you will address
me as "Warden." I know what you're
thinking, "This is a mistake. I don't
belong here. I'm innocent." Rest
assured, I really don't give a shit.
Once you walk through those doors,
your ass belongs to me.

The Prisoners glare at Hartley. They already don't like him.

HARTLEY (cont'd)
If you're already having bright ideas
about escaping, I'd advise against
it. Just a few short minutes before
you got here, an inmate named Percy
Hoffman managed to jump the wall in
the recreation yard. A gross lack of
misjudgment on our part, but a
wonderful example for those who have
thoughts of freedom. Let's see how
he's making out, shall we?
15.

One of the Robots step forward and holds its hand out. Its
palm GLOWS with a red light and projects a large SCREEN.

We see Percy, still being chased by the Robots. He doesn't

trip. He doesn't even look behind him.

The Guard Robots simply catch him and start PUMMELING him to
death. He never stood a chance.

The screen shuts off. The prisoners stand in silence.

EISMA
So if we try to escape, you'll kill
us. Got it. Thanks for the lesson,
you fucking schmuck.

Hartley looks at her, slightly amused, but unimpressed by

her backtalk. He takes out a remote device from his jacket.

A SONIC TASER. Handheld. Small enough to fit in one's

pocket. He presses the button on it, and...

A high pitched SONIC FREQUENCY fills the room. All four

prisoners drop to their knees, screaming in agony. It's like
their bodies locked up. It only lasted a few seconds, but it
felt like a few minutes.

Hartley finally turns off the device. He smugly pulls NOISE

CANCELING EARPLUGS out of his ears. As do the other guards.

HARTLEY
Do not speak unless you are spoken
to. That is one of two punishments
you can get around here. This prison
is only operating at 3gs. The
punishment facility at the North pole
can go up to 7gs. So go ahead, start
a fight, backtalk a guard, hell even
look at any of us funny and that's
what you can expect.

Still on the ground, the prisoners look up at him.

HARTLEY (cont'd)
In other words, this is my world.
Shut the fuck up, or you die.

Hartley smugly smiles back.

HARTLEY (cont'd)
Enjoy your stay.
16.

INT. A-BLOCK CORRIDOR - LATER

The elevator doors open to a corridor. Dark and sterile.

Steel walls and steel grate flooring. Lined with holding
cells with laser bars, containing prisoners.

Vincent, dressed in a blue jumpsuit, is escorted down by a

Security Guard and a Robot Guard. Prisoners catcall at him
from all directions. He's fresh meat to them.

He walks, gingerly. Wobbling now. Starting to feel the 3gs,

and finding it hard to adjust. The force of the gravity is
slowing him down so much.

He hugs the wall just so he could stand, but he eventually

stumbles and falls to the ground.

The Prisoners all start laughing at him.

SECURITY GUARD
Get your ass up! If you can't learn
to move in gravity this low, you
won't last very long.

The Guard hoists him up and tosses him across the ground.

INT. VINCENT'S HOLDING CELL - CONTINUOUS

Vincent is thrown into his crummy cell. A mattress on a

steel base. A toilet in the corner. A sink, and a shelf.

The LASER BARS appear and lock him in his room.

Vincent struggles, but finally manages to get to his feet.

It took him a bit, though.

He looks around. In the cell across from him, a shirtless

TATTOOED MAN glares at him. Tattoos all across his body.

TATTOOED MAN
Fuck you lookin' at, new fish?

Vincent turns away, but the Tattoo Man keeps talking.

TATTOOED MAN (cont'd)

Yeah, you lookin' real good, fish.
Don't get caught droppin' the soap.

Vincent lays down on his bed. He stares up at the ceiling.

Beat.
17.

He closes his eyes and falls asleep.

FADE TO BLACK

OVER BLACK SCREEN.

MAGGIE (O.S.)
You finally decided to wake up, eh?

VINCENT (O.S.)
You got a problem with that?

MAGGIE (O.S.)
Sure, if you can keep quiet. You're
snoring woke up half the galaxy.

FADE IN:

INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT (FLASHBACK)

VINCENT and MAGGIE share a bed, half naked, staring at each

other. The moonlight pours in from the window.

An alarm clock rests on the nightstand. It shows the date as

June 26, 2237.

MAGGIE
You ever thought about what you'd be
doing if we never met?

VINCENT
You pick the weirdest time of the
night to ask questions like this.

MAGGIE
Come on, I'm serious.

Vincent rolls around on his back, taking a deep sigh.

VINCENT
I don't know. Probably disappointing
my parents by working in a bar, or
something. Throwing out drunks for
causing trouble. Bang a different
woman every night.

Maggie hits him in the face with a pillow.

MAGGIE
(laughing)
You asshole.
18.

The two share a laugh.

MAGGIE (cont'd)
I've always... you know, wanted to be
an important businesswoman, and come
home to my husband and children.

VINCENT
The simple life.

MAGGIE
Exactly.

VINCENT
I feel like we've had this
conversation before.

MAGGIE
We have. You just never listen to me.

Vincent rolls his eyes.

VINCENT
I do listen. It's something that's
been on my mind.

MAGGIE
Then let's just get out.

VINCENT
Honestly, I have been getting bored
of this lately. You just get to a
point where you don't want to do it
anymore. It's not like we even need
the money anymore.

MAGGIE
Right? We have all that. Business
hasn't exactly been booming either.
We can let the others continue on if
they want to.

VINCENT
We're keeping the ship, though. I
went through a lot of shit to get it.

MAGGIE
Yes, fine, we can keep the ship.

VINCENT
Alonzo's been bugging me about
another job.
19.

VINCENT (cont'd)
This huge diamond place on Andros.
Like literally bothering me about it.
Says it could be big.

MAGGIE
We do this one job...

VINCENT
Then we'll get out. That's my word.
We pull the job and break the news to
everyone at dinner later that night.
Deal?

The two of them stare and smile at each other.

MAGGIE
Deal.

They kiss.

BACK TO:

INT. VINCENT'S HOLDING CELL - DAY

Vincent's eyes pop open. He looks up at the cold, gray

ceiling of his prison cell.

It takes him a minute, but he finally sits up. Looks like he

barely slept. The laser bars of his holding cell disappear.

LEON calls out--

LEON (O.S.)
Everybody line up!

Vincent steps out.

LEON
On the line, inmate.

Vincent looks down at the yellow line in front of his cell,

and steps on it. So do the other PRISONERS in his block.

He looks at the collection of inmates. Human and Alien

alike. All types of shape and sizes. Some dressed in
uniforms, others more casual.

A ROBOT rolls past them down the line. A GUARD follows,

keeping count of everyone.

GUARD
All clear.
20.

LEON
Alright, breakfast time, maggots. Hop
to it!

INT. C-BLOCK CORRIDOR - CONTINUOUS

The Cell Block with the FEMALE INMATES.

Much like A-Block, a Robot rolls down the line. This time,
Warden Hartley follows a Guard as he does the count.

He stops at one cell and locks eyes with...

REMI, a brown-skinned, blue eyed Alien woman. Long white

hair. Beautiful cat-like features down to the pointy ears.

GUARD
Breakfast time!

All the inmates leave, except Remi, who's blocked by

Hartley. He looks at her like a creep, eyeing her up and
down. Remi avoids any eye contact whatsoever.

HARTLEY
Good morning, Remi.

She stays silent. He gets a little closer.

HARTLEY (cont'd)
I said, good morning.

REMI
Good morning, Warden.
(after a beat)
I have to go help out in the kitchen.

Remi tries to leave, but Hartley holds her back by placing

his hand on her stomach.

HARTLEY
You were just going to leave and not
say good morning to me?

Hartley places a hand on her chin, forcing her to make eye

contact with him.

HARTLEY (cont'd)
That's rude. I want you to make it up
to me by seeing me later.
21.

REMI
Warden, I'm not really feeling well,
and I have laundry duty later.

HARTLEY
I'm sorry?

REMI
It's just, I...

Hartley grabs Remi's wrist and squeezes. She winces.

REMI (cont'd)
Okay, I'll come and see you.

He lets go.

HARTLEY
That's what I thought you said.

Hartley leaves. Remi holds her wrist.

INT. CAFETERIA - LATER

A large cafeteria that resembles the lunch room at a high

school, except with Robot Guards and regular Security Guards
stationed around, and floating cameras.

Large assortments of tables. A food stationed manned by some

of the inmates, while others eat at tables.

Remi arrives behind the counter, tying up her apron and

tying her hair up in a hairnet.

A FEMALE INMATE approaches her, noticing her demeanor.

FEMALE INMATE
You're late, Remi. You okay?

REMI
I'm fine. Just leave me alone right
now.

Remi pushes past her to the front to help serve the food.

Vincent stands in line, while the prisoners ahead of him get

some gruel slapped onto their plate, and move on. Not too
appetizing, but not something that looks uneatable.

He wobbles ahead rather slowly, still fighting the gravity.

He steps up next to get his food.
22.

His eyes meet with Remi's. She doesn't say anything to him,
then slaps something that looks like scrambled eggs and a
piece of bread on his plate.

VINCENT
Nothing to drink?

Remi gives him a look.

REMI
You get what you get. Move along,
inmate.

VINCENT
Are there any forks?

REMI
I said, fuck off!

VERNON, a muscular, burly prisoner with a large beard pushes

his way ahead.

VERNON
The hell's taking so long?!

Vincent turns and glares up at the big guy. Vernon pushes

him down to the ground with ease.

VERNON
3g is nothing, fish. At this rate,
you'll die of heart failure.

Vincent rises to his feet, staring down the big man.

VERNON (cont'd)
You look like you wanna leap. Take a
swing, bitch. Do me a favor.

The other inmates look back, waiting for a fight to break

out. The Security and Robot Guards prepare themselves.

LEON walks over, flanked by a Robot Guard.

LEON
We got a problem here, Vernon?

Vernon thinks it over, and decides to back off.

VERNON
Nah, no problem. No problem at all.

LEON
Then get back in line.
23.

Vernon's gang hold him back.

TROS, one of the aliens Vincent arrived with, pulls him

aside.

TROS
You tryin' to get yourself killed?

Vernon's gaze doesn't leave Vince.

VERNON
Guards ain't gonna be around all the
time, fish!

The two other inmates that came in with Vincent -- Eisma and
Hackett, are seated a table.

Hackett looks at the questionable meal in front of him with

a grimace. He looks over at Eisma, whose chowing down.

HACKETT
How can you eat this shit?

EISMA
I haven't had a decent meal in a
while. When you're really hungry,
you'll eat just about anything.

Vincent and Tros take a seat at their table.

TROS
You crazy, man? You heard what The
Warden said. You act up, you get sent
to the Detention Facility.

VINCENT
What do you care?

TROS
We're all new. Came in at the same
time. Might as well stick together.

HACKETT
How are you adjusting to this place?

VINCENT
I didn't expect 3g to be this rough.

EISMA
Luckily for me, and Tros over here,
Aliens have an easier time adapting
to this gravity than humans do.
24.

Vincent cuts right to the chase.

VINCENT
Have any of you had a chance to case
the place? See if there's a way out?

EISMA
What are you, high? We all saw what
these robots did to that guy who
tried to bust outta here. The Warden,
and probably all these guards, have
those sonic devices too. I'm just
gonna stay in my lane and finish my
sentence.

RAZA (O.S.)
Good luck.

The four turn to a man sitting a few feet down the table.

RAZA. The look of a man you had better not fuck with. A
brown haired, half Man, half Machine combination. Two ROBOT
ARMS showing through his sleeveless top.

VINCENT
And you are...?

EISMA
A cutie pie. What's your name, hun?

RAZA
This one's name is Raza. Nobody has
ever served their full sentence and
been allowed to leave.

VINCENT
That doesn't seem fair.

RAZA
The Warden could care less about
fair. You can forget about escaping.
It's impossible.

HACKETT
How are you stuck in here? Shouldn't
you be able to hack your way out, or
some shit?

RAZA
That's not how my body works.

TROS
Is your whole body mechanical?
25.

RAZA
No, just my arms...

Raza shows them his CYBERNETIC EYE.

RAZA (cont'd)
And my eye. The Warden took it from
me when I tried to escape, along with
48 hours in the punishment facility.
(after a beat)
There is nothing you can try that he
hasn't seen before. Now that you're
in, you're never getting out. Nothing
to do, but just wait and die.

Raza gets up from the table with his food tray and leaves.

EISMA
Quite the cheery thinker, that one.

HACKETT
He's got a point, though. Like it or
not, we're stuck in here.

INT. PRISON LAUNDRY - LATER

The DEAFENING NOISE of washers and presses. The CLAMOR of

Prisoners working and talking.

Vincent works the laundry line, looking miserable. He grabs

a big handful of clothes to move to the basket.

He continues along, bumps into REMI, and drops them.

They stare at each other for a small beat.

Remi just walks away. Vincent bends down to pick them up.
Another PRISONER comes along and knocks Vincent down into
the pile of clothes.

INT. A-BLOCK CORRIDOR - LATER

A bundle of coarse strings soaked in soapy water slaps

against the floor. A Mop, held in Vincent's hands. He mops
the floor.

A few INMATES are escorted down the corridor by a SECURITY

GUARD. They walk right past Vincent, all over the spot he
just mopped, leaving dirt. Not even acknowledging him.
26.

INT. VINCENT'S HOLDING CELL - NIGHT

Vincent lies awake, staring into darkness. Unable to sleep.

A long beat. He sighs as his eyes finally close.

EXT. RECREATION YARD - DAY

High Walls and looming guard towers dominate the recreation

yard. Outside, the gravity is normal.

Over fifty prisoners are in the yard. A healthy blend of

aliens and humans.

Some are just content with walking around. Others are either
lifting weights, tossing a football, or baseball around,
shooting craps, or just chewing the rug with one another.

ARMED GUARDS keep watch. The Robots aren't too far behind.

Vincent passes through the yard. Everybody's dressed in Blue

jumpsuits, or causal wear in tank tops.

Not paying attention to where he's walking, Vincent bumps

into somebody.

VINCENT
Sorry, I--

GRATH, a large REPTILIAN Alien with green, scaly skin.

He slowly turns his head. A hardened and angry look on his

face like he's about to knock Vincent's lights out.

VINCENT (cont'd)
Ah, shit.

Vincent backs up slowly. His day is about to get real bad,

real quick.

VINCENT (cont'd)
I don't want any trouble, big guy.

Grath's mean mug changes to a SMILE.

GRATH
It's okay.

Grath speaks with a gentle, articulate voice. A creature

whose voice does not match his look.

This throws Vincent way off.

27.

VINCENT
Say what?

GRATH
I apologize. I should've been more
mindful of my surroundings. I was in
your way.

VINCENT
...right.

DARCY (O.S.)
Don't worry. He doesn't bite.

DARCY GALLAGHER, late twenties, a pretty, young Irish woman.

Fair skinned with Auburn hair. She approaches the two.

DARCY
Not unless I tell him to, anyway.
Howya, I'm Darcy. Darcy Gallagher.
Pleasure to meet ya.

Vincent shakes her hand.

VINCENT
Vincent Vale.

DARCY
You're the new guy, eh?

VINCENT
What gave it away?

DARCY
Everybody has the same reaction when
they meet Grath for the first time.
They're so afraid of him, but he's a
teddy bear.

VINCENT
So, he's harmless?

DARCY
(chuckles)
I wouldn't say that now. He can beat
someone up pretty good if he wants.
Once saw him beat up a man so bad, it
took him two weeks to get the feeling
back in his legs.

Grath walks up to Vincent. By no means is Vincent a short

man, but Grath is towering over him by at least two feet.
28.

GRATH
Would you like to be friends,
Vincent?

Vincent glances over at Darcy. She smirks at him.

DARCY
You'd dare not refuse.

He turns back to the big Reptilian.

VINCENT
Uh... yeah, sure.

Grath picks him up for a big bear hug and places him down.

Vincent feels around his body to see if any of his organs

got rearranged.

DARCY
Walk with us. I'll give ya the grand
tour.

The three of them start walking across the yard.

DARCY (cont'd)
Already met the Warden, I take it?

VINCENT
Yep.

DARCY
He's a right ponce, isn't he?

VINCENT
I guess so. Whatever that means.

GRATH
You're fine with us, Vincent. We're
good company to keep in a place like
this.

DARCY
That lot over there... well that's a
different story.

Darcy points to a GANG of about five, or six people sitting

on the bleachers like they own it.

VERNON sits atop the bleachers, above the rest. The leader.
29.

DARCY (cont'd)
Big man's name is Vernon. He leads
one of the prison gangs in here.

Vernon's eyes meet Vincent, staring a hole through him.

Darcy takes notice.

DARCY (cont'd)
... and I see you've already met.

VINCENT
Yeah, we're old friends.

DARCY
He's a g-monster. A man that size
moves around in 3g like a spring
daisy. You see that fella over there
in the corner, standin' like a
muppet?

CRAZY ANDY, a man with scraggly red hair and glasses walks
around in a circle, laughing at nothing.

DARCY (cont'd)
I'd avoid that one.

GRATH
They call him Crazy Andy.

DARCY
Whatever you do, don't say that to
his face. He's one fruity pebble away
from Bedrock. This one on the other
hand...

CHERRY, thirties, stunningly beautiful with firecracker red

hair, leaning up against the wall, smoking a cigarette.

GRATH
They call her Cherry, short for
"Cherry Bomb." You can take a guess
what she did to get in here.

VINCENT
What'd she blow up?

GRATH
It's more of a who. Several who's.

VINCENT
Oh...
30.

DARCY
She's sweet on one of the guards. Oh,
speak of the devil.

LEON walks over to Cherry and starts chatting her up.

They're not trying to hide it.

VINCENT
She's dating the Captain of the
Guard? The Warden doesn't care about
that?

DARCY
You'd be surprised what the Warden
does and doesn't care about in here.
When you're on another planet, some
things are easier to get away with.

They finally stop, and stand posted up against a wall.

GRATH
So, Vincent, what are you in here
for?

VINCENT
Armed Robbery, assault, theft, and a
few other things.

DARCY
Like hell you say. Didn't figure a
handsome gent like you got his hands
dirty. Lemme guess... a space pirate?

Vincent turns and gives her a look.

DARCY (cont'd)
I thought Pirates were smart enough
to not get caught.

VINCENT
A member of my crew screwed me over.
Left me to twist in the wind. When I
get outta here--

DARCY
I'm sorry. Backtrack. When?

GRATH
You're considering breaking out?

VINCENT
Once I get a feel for the place.
31.

DARCY
You takin' the piss? You've been here
fer a cup of coffee, and you're
already making escape plans?

VINCENT
I've heard it's impossible.

GRATH
You heard right. Even if you do
manage to get up and over those
walls, where will you go? It's desert
for miles and miles.

DARCY
And then, it's only a matter of time
until those mechanized tanks find ya
and kill ya. You ever see what they
do to a man?

VINCENT
Yeah, I've seen.

GRATH
If the robots don't get you, the heat
and dehydration most certainly will.
You have to be perfect to execute a
proper escape from this place. Nobody
has. Nobody ever will.

DARCY
Face it, Vince, this is your home
now. You might as well move in some
furniture while you're at it.

Vincent sighs.

EXT. SPACE - LATER

The GOODBYE starship cuts through the empty blackness of

space. It heads for a blue planet with icy white patches.

EXT. THE WHITE LOTUS, ARAXIA - DAY

"ARAXIA"

SNOW FALLS over the small, pastel colored town with stone
buildings.

Focusing on THE WHITE LOTUS. A brothel and saloon

combination. HUMANS, along with assorted species of ALIENS.
32.

Some are chatting up and kissing on the FEMALE ESCORTS,

while others are drunk, laughing, and having a good time.

ALONZO marches through, briefcase-in-hand.

He approaches KANDRO, forties, a gruff, older man. Youthful

for his years.

ALONZO
Where's Sphinx?

KANDRO
(off look)
You must be Alonzo. Sphinx told me
she'd be expecting you. My name is
Kandro. Follow me.

They walk over to a cavalcade of laughing people by the bar

huddled around--

SPHINX, a beautiful, yellow-skinned Alien woman holding a

drink in her hand. She seems to be the life of the party,
surrounded by people and telling jokes to much success,
judging by the laughter.

Her eyes meet Alonzo.

SPHINX
Alonzo! Welcome back.

The other aliens, some BIGGER ALIENS glare at Alonzo. A

sheep walking into a den of wolves. Alonzo stands his
ground.

Sphinx walks over and greets him like an old friend,

planting a kiss on his cheek.

Alonzo doesn't reciprocate her feelings.

SPHINX (cont'd)
You don't look happy to see me.

ALONZO
I cashed in the diamonds. I got your
money. Just take it.

Sphinx gives Kandro a look. He takes the case from him and
looks inside.

SPHINX
We good?

Kandro replies with a nod.

33.

SPHINX (cont'd)
Good work, Alonzo. Kandro will wire
your cut into your account.

ALONZO
You have any idea what I had to do to
get here with that? Tell me this
business between you and me is done.

Beat. Sphinx looks him over.

SPHINX
Yeah. We're straight.

ALONZO
Good. Now, where is my sister?

INT. SPHINX'S SUITE, ARAXIA - CONTINUOUS

A luxurious suite. One fit for a Queen. Bathed in gold and

amber lighting. An Egyptian theme to the place.

Sphinx opens the door for Alonzo. He enters to find--

KRISTEN, thirties, a really cute girl with black and green

hair, and also Alonzo's sister.

She turns and sees Alonzo. Face overwhelmed with emotion.

The two EMBRACE. Kristen is so happy.

KANDRO
(to Sphinx)
I love family reunions.

Alonzo looks her over, looking for any signs of harm, or

injury, but she's clean and healthy.

ALONZO
You're not hurt, or anything.
They've... been taking care of you?

KRISTEN
Yes, they have.

Alonzo brushes his hand across her face, smiling.

ALONZO
Get your stuff. We're going home.

Kristen heads to the back.

34.

SPHINX
Alonzo, I'm hurt.

Alonzo turns and faces her. He's not amused.

SPHINX (cont'd)
I told you straight out that I'm not
a violent woman. I said your sister
would be taken good care of. I even
let her stay in my own suite. I
wouldn't harm her so long as you gave
me what I wanted.

ALONZO
And I gave you what you wanted.

SPHINX
That you did. And I'm very grateful.

Kristen emerges from the backroom with a large duffel bag.

KRISTEN
I've had this bag packed for weeks,
hoping you'd come for me. I'm ready
to go.

Alonzo and Kristen make for the door...

KANDRO stands in their way, blocking their exit.

ALONZO
Sphinx, what is this?

SPHINX
I forgot to mention. I have one last
job for you to do.

ALONZO
No, there is no last job! You said
after this diamond heist, we'd be
done!

SPHINX
No, I said we'd be straight. I never
said anything about being done.

Alonzo stares angrily. He's ready to explode.

SPHINX (cont'd)
How quickly we forget, your sister
made a decision, and you're paying
for it. You will continue to pay up
until I decide you're paid in full.
35.

SPHINX (cont'd)
When you think about it, I'm doing
you a favor. More jobs equals more
money. You and your sister would
never have to work a day again in
your lives.

ALONZO
And if I refuse?

Kandro GRABS Kristen and points a BLASTER to her head.

Alonzo DRAWS and points a BLASTER at Sphinx.

Sphinx sighs.

ALONZO (cont'd)
Tell him to get that blaster away
from my sister, or I swear I'll blow
your head off!

SPHINX
Alonzo, I think you need to weigh
your options here. You kill me,
Kandro kills your sister, and you die
anyway. For argument's sake, let's
say your quicker on the draw than
Kandro here...

KANDRO
I doubt that.

SPHINX
...and manage to kill us both, right?
I own every alien out there. Do you
honestly think they'd let you just
fly out of here?

Alonzo tightens his grip on the blaster. All eyes are on

him.

SPHINX (cont'd)
Do one more job, and be a big
brother. Or you and your sister can
die right here, and right now.

Alonzo looks at Sphinx for a long beat, thinking for any

sort of way out of this. He's got no choice.

He lowers his weapon in frustration. Kandro shoves Kristen

into Alonzo's arms.
36.

ALONZO
Can I at least say goodbye to my
sister?

SPHINX
You have one minute.

They wait by the door.

KRISTEN
Alonzo, I'm so sorry I got you into
this.

ALONZO
It'll be okay, Kristen. I'm gonna get
you out of this. Just give me a
little time. Do you trust me?

KRISTEN
Yeah. Yeah, of course I trust you.

Alonzo HUGS her. What Kandro and Sphinx don't see...

Alonzo slipping a PISTOL to Kristen, behind her back, and

under her shirt, and tucked into her pants.

KANDRO
Minute's up.

Alonzo gives Kristen a KNOWING LOOK, and a nod. He turns

back and faces Sphinx and Kandro.

ALONZO
What's the job?

INT. PRISON HALLWAY - DAY

Vincent, along with other PRISONERS paint the walls,

monitored by some GUARDS.

DARCY is SINGING. Jovial, and enjoying it quite a bit. A

GUARD named CLIVE SMITH, forties, passes by.

CLIVE
Shut up, Gallagher. This is working
time, not Karaoke.

DARCY
(softly)
Wanker.

Clive draws his baton.

37.

CLIVE
Sorry inmate, you say something?

LEON (O.S.)
Ease off, Clive.

LEON is off to the side, standing by Cherry.

DARCY
Yea, ease off, Clive. You should be
less worried about my voice and more
worried about those ears.

Clive starts feeling his ears.

CLIVE
What's wrong with my ears?

DARCY
(chuckling)
They look like a car coming down the
road with both doors open.

Everybody around starts laughing. Smith is not amused.

CLIVE
BACK TO WORK!

The Prisoners stop laughing and get back to painting.

Leon eyes Cherry. She eyes him back.

LEON
She ain't lying. I could probably get
good reception with those satellite
dish ears he's got.

Cherry laughs.

CHERRY
Hey, so, are you free tonight? I was
thinking I could maybe skip movie
night and we could...

LEON
I can't. I have to go off-world.
We're bringing in some new fish.

CHERRY
Jeez, I know they ran out of room on
Earth, but if they keep bringing them
here, we'll get maxed out too.
38.

LEON
That's what I'm saying, but it's
whatever.

CHERRY
How long you gonna be gone for?

LEON
Couple days the most.

CHERRY
They can't send somebody else?

LEON
I'm Captain of the Guard. It's gotta
be me. But hey, I'll take you up on
that offer when I get back, okay?

CHERRY
Fine. But you owe me.

Leon KISSES her and leaves. Vincent turns to Darcy.

VINCENT
Did he say he was going off-world?

DARCY
Yea, the guards leave to bring in new
prisoners every once in a while.

VINCENT
How often is every once in a while?

DARCY
Before you lot showed up, the last
time was a little over a month ago.

Clive notices them talking.

CLIVE
How 'bout it, inmates? Walls are not
gonna paint themselves.

Vincent resumes painting, and Smith walks away.

INT. VISITATION AREA - LATER

A DOZEN tables scattered in the room. Several INMATES visit

with their loved ones, sitting across from them in chains.

The Armed Guards and Robots keep a watchful eye.

39.

SAMANTHA sits across from Vincent.

VINCENT
How are the kids?

SAMANTHA
Better. Thanks for asking.
(off the prison's
look)
This place is more disgusting than I
thought. I hope they're feeding you
in here.

VINCENT
You don't even wanna see what they
call food in this place.

SAMANTHA
(off Vincent's look)
You look... clean.

VINCENT
You thought I would get beat up in
here pretty fast, huh?

SAMANTHA
I was betting on it, actually.

The two share a laugh.

SAMANTHA (cont'd)
Seriously, Vince. How are you?

VINCENT
I'm fine. For now.

SAMANTHA
And the gravity? The visitation area
is stabilized, but I can't imagine
how it is in there.

VINCENT
I'm managing. Have you been looking
for Alonzo?

SAMANTHA
Jesus Christ, Vince. You need to let
it go. He's long gone.

VINCENT
This man killed my friends. Good
people. I lost the woman I was going
to spend the rest of my life with.
40.

VINCENT (cont'd)
I can't just let it go. When I get
out of here, he's a dead man.

SAMANTHA
You know, this same line of thinking
is what put you in that chair in the
first place.

VINCENT
I've got time. All I need is a team,
a plan, and a little help from you.

SAMANTHA
Vince, I can't get involved with
this... whatever it is you're
thinking about doing. I have a career
and a family to think about, and if I
help you break out of here, it
jeopardizes that.

VINCENT
Nobody even has to know.

Samantha stares at him for a beat. She loves his brother,

but deep down, she knows this is something she can't be
associated with.

VINCENT (cont'd)
Promise me you'll at least think
about it.

Samantha looks at him for a beat.

SAMANTHA
I'm not saying yes, and I'm not
saying no. I'm saying maybe.

VINCENT
That's good enough for me.

They exchange smiles.

In another part of the visitation area, Darcy sits with her

cousin, JANINE GALLAGHER, thirties, very pretty, prim, and
proper.

JANINE
How are ya holding up in here,
cousin?

DARCY
I'll let you know when I figure it
out. How is Fiona?
41.

Janine gives Darcy a nervous look.

DARCY (cont'd)
Janine...

JANINE
I don't know how to say this.

DARCY
Just spit it out.

JANINE
(exhales)
There was a drug bust at the house...

DARCY
No...

JANINE
Ian and a few of his friends got
hauled off to jail. They took Fiona
into child protective services.

Darcy shoots up from her seat.

DARCY
What in the hell were you thinking
keeping drugs around her in the first
place?!

JANINE
Ian never stopped selling them when
you went away. We've been so careful,
and we didn't think--

DARCY
That's your problem right there. You
didn't think!

A GUARD approaches.

GUARD
Hey! Control yourself, Gallagher.

Darcy sits back down. The Guard walks away. She runs her
hands through her hair, trying extremely hard to maintain
her composure.

JANINE
Darcy, I'm sorry.

DARCY
Yea, I'm sure you are.
42.

JANINE
I tried to get custody, but they
didn't budge. They won't even tell me
where they placed her.

DARCY
Three is too young to be bounced
around foster care. You shouldn't
have let this happen. I should've
never trusted you with her.

Janine gives her a look.

JANINE
Maybe you shouldn't have gotten
caught.

Darcy glares at her.

JANINE (cont'd)
A capable mother would've turned over
a new leaf with a child on the way.
This is why I never brought Fiona
here. I don't want her to see her Mom
like this.

DARCY
She's my daughter.

JANINE
And for her sake, I hope she doesn't
end up like her Mother.

DARCY SPITS IN HER FACE.

GUARD
Alright, Gallagher. Visiting time for
you is over.

DARCY
I was finished anyway.

Darcy gets up and leaves.

INT. CAFETERIA - LATER

Vincent takes a seat at a table with a tray of food.

CLIVE walks up to him, handing over two metal cards -- RED

and BLUE.
43.

VINCENT
What are these?

CLIVE
Figure it out.

He walks away.

RAZA (O.S.)
They're flex cards.

Vincent glances over at Raza, sitting down the line from

him, with a tray of food himself.

RAZA
They give them to you for good
behavior, or for the amount of
service hours you log.

VINCENT
What can I do with them?

RAZA
They're good for special items in
commissary, more recreation time,
among other things.

VINCENT
That doesn't seem like something The
Warden would do.

RAZA
It was The Prison Board's idea.
Warden may be in charge, but he still
answers to them.

Vincent's gaze then shifts to a familiar, unpleasing sight--

Vernon and his gang glaring at him from a table not far from
his. He looks around. The Robot Guard leaves. Nobody is
there to stop him.

The Big Man gets up with his posse and walks over to
Vincent. He SLAPS the metal tray away.

VERNON
Meal time is over, fish.

Vincent gets up and sizes Vernon up. Vernon's gang slowly

move in, circling Vincent like a pack of wolves.
44.

VERNON (cont'd)
Guards can't protect you now. None of
your fish friends are around. It's
just you and me.

Raza watches and eats, not moving from his spot.

VINCENT
You really don't wanna fight me.

VERNON
Nah, I really, really do.

Vernon throws the first punch. SWING and a MISS.

-- WHAM! Vincent PUNCHES Vernon in the face. He no-sells it

and delivers a FOREARM, knocking Vincent to the floor.

Vernon's gang move in. Vincent scoops his metal tray off the
floor and WHACKS a couple of them in the face with it.

One of Vernon's people HURLS an object at Vincent...

... which MISSES and HITS RAZA!

The whole mess hall falls silent. Everybody looks his way.

RAZA is frozen for a second. Silently pissed. His meal's

been disrupted, and somebody's gonna pay. He slowly rises to
his feet, walks over...

... and PUNCHES one of Vernon's thugs so hard--

HE GOES FLYING ACROSS THE CAFETERIA!

Vernon's gang is backing off as Raza approaches, and starts

WHUPPING THEIR ASS. He SLAMS one dude's head on the table,
and JUDO FLIPS another one to the ground.

Vincent hops on the table, and KICKS a thug in the face.

Vernon trips Vincent up, dragging him back to the ground,

and GRABS him by the collar. He raises him up to eye level,
and HEAD-BUTTS him.

RAZA comes up from behind and KICKS Vernon in the back of

the knee, and LEG SWEEPS him down to the ground.

Two Guards finally run in and witness the mayhem.

A GUARD ROBOT comes in. It lifts its arm. Pulsing

electricity, making a play for Raza.
45.

Raza GRABS the Robot's arm, holding it up with one hand.

With his other hand, Raza winds up and--

PUNCHES A HOLE THROUGH THE ROBOT'S HEAD!

Nothing but crackling electricity as Raza pulls his arm back

out of the robot's punctured head. Sparks flying out of the
robot's head. Circuity falling to the ground.

Raza turns and stares the two guards down. They're next.

The Guards are frightened. Now's the time.

GUARD #1
Holy fuck. Call it in.

The other guard takes out a CB Radio.

GUARD #2
(into radio)
Warden, we got a problem down here!

INT. THE WARDEN'S OFFICE - CONTINUOUS

Warden Hartley's office is a large, nicely furnished room.

It looks like he lives here, and is living quite well.

HUNDREDS of SCREENS in front of him. A digital touchpad

table in front of him. He can bring up any screen and any
image into full view with the push of a button.

He's been watching this unfold the entire time, amused by it

all. Deep inside, a little annoyed having to end it.

HARTLEY
I guess that's enough fun for now.

On his digital touchpad table, there's a dial in the top

right corner. He turns it to the right and--

INT. CAFETERIA - CONTINUOUS

An intense, high-powered SONIC WHISTLE fills the whole

cafeteria. EVERY INMATE falls to the ground, clutching their
ears in pain.

After a few seconds, the noise subsides, and Guards fill the
room, with their batons drawn, left to pick up the pieces.
46.

INT. THE WARDEN'S OFFICE - LATER

Vincent starts to stir. He awakens to find Raza sitting next

him. His eyes move around the room.

Two Guard Robots man the door.

Hartley sits in front of them, behind his desk in his

leather chair, flanked by a couple of armed guards.

HARTLEY
You know, I expected this kind of
behavior from Raza. We've done this
dance before. But you, Vincent... you
just got here, and you're already
starting trouble.

VINCENT
I started it?! That big goof swung
first. Why isn't he in here with us?

One of the guards DRIVES his baton in Vincent's chest. That

shuts him up rather quickly.

HARTLEY
You have a lot to learn if you want
to survive on my world. My Father
once told me that fear and respect go
hand-in-hand. I never liked my Father
that much, but I feared him, and I
respected him.

Hartley looks them both dead in the eyes.

HARTLEY (cont'd)
You will learn to fear me. You will
learn to respect me. Let's consider
this, Mr. Vale, your first lesson in
respect. 24 hours in the punishment
facility.
(to his guards)
Take them away.

The Guards force Vincent and Raza up out of their seats.

Vincent locks eyes with Hartley as he's forcibly pulled out

of the room.

EXT. TRAIN PLATFORM - NIGHT

Vincent and Raza stand on a train platform. Two Armed Guards

stand behind them.
47.

VINCENT
24 hours in the punishment facility.
This is bullshit. Why isn't Vernon
going in with us? He started the
whole thing. Probably has it good
with the Warden, or something.

SECURITY GUARD #1
Shut up, inmate!

Raza glances over at Vincent.

RAZA
You must have a death wish, starting
a fight like that.

VINCENT
What do you call what you were doing?

SECURITY GUARD #2
Both of you, shut up!

A large, gray TRAIN CAR pulls into the station. A blend of

futuristic tech, with a modern look. It comes to a slow
stop. The train doors open with a hiss.

The Guard roughly PUSHES them in. The doors shut and the
train takes off.

INT. DETENTION FACILITY - LATER

Vincent is THROWN into his cell and the laser bars close.

All the Guards leave.

Raza is sitting comfortably in his cell on an uninviting

slab of rock this facility has the audacity to call a bed.

Vincent, in his own cell, is lying on the ground. The

gravity is so punishing, he can hardly make it to his feet.
He struggles to pick himself up to get on the rock bed.

RAZA
You should take it easy. Struggling
only makes it worse.

Vincent is all, "screw this" and just plops on the ground.

VINCENT
Yeah, no kidding. This 7g thing is no
joke. How are you so calm?
48.

RAZA
This isn't my first trip here.

VINCENT
Let me see if I can remember your
name. Raza, right? Name's Vincent
Vale. I gotta admit, what you did
back there was pretty cool. The way
you sent that guy flying. And then
when you punch a hole through that
one robot's head.

Raza smirks. Even he knew that was pretty cool.

VINCENT (cont'd)
I had a feeling those metal arms were
more than just for show.

RAZA
One of those robots is easy enough,
but when the numbers game catches up
to you, it's over.

Vincent tries moving again, the heavy gravity, putting a

massive strain on his body. He falls on his back again.

VINCENT
(after a beat)
I feel like I'm gonna pass out.

RAZA
I told you not to strain yourself.
I'm actually surprised you've lasted
this long your first time here.

Beat.

VINCENT
Hypothetically speaking, if I were to
ask you about formulating a plan of
escape, would you go along with it?

RAZA
Hypothetically speaking, I'd think
the gravity made you delirious, and
kindly tell you to fuck off.

VINCENT
Do you even wanna get out of here?

Raza finally turns his head and looks at Vincent.

49.

RAZA
Nothing would give me more pleasure
than finding the people responsible
for tearing me apart, sewing me back
up with cybernetic parts, and dumping
me here like garbage when they were
done. They took away my humanity.

VINCENT
So you didn't even do anything?

RAZA
No. They found me on the surface, and
I've been here ever since.

VINCENT
That gives you even more of an
incentive to break out. Or are you
content with throwing in the towel?

Raza sits and stews on that for a few seconds.

VINCENT (cont'd)
All I've heard since I got here is
that it's impossible to escape.

RAZA
You're wasting your time, Vincent.
Remember, I've tried once before.

VINCENT
By yourself. Not with others.

Raza gives him a look.

VINCENT (cont'd)
You scratch my back, and I'll scratch
yours. We help each other get out
here, and those people that did this
to you, I'll personally walk you up
to their doorstep. How 'bout it?

Raza thinks about it for a minute. What's he got to lose?

RAZA
All this talk of escape. Do you even
have a plan?

Vincent manages to look up at Raza, staring back at him.

VINCENT
I have part of a plan.
50.

RAZA
That's comforting.

VINCENT
We're gonna need some help.

EXT. THE WHITE LOTUS, ARAXIA - NIGHT

There's a party going on at the White Lotus. Aliens and

Humans drinking and having a good time.

INT. SPHINX'S SUITE, ARAXIA - CONTINUOUS

An ARMED GUARD enters the room with Kristen's meal for the
night. But she's not in the room.

The Guard places the meal down on the table and searches the
room. He opens the door to the bathroom...

KRISTEN WAITS WITH A BLASTER...

BLAM! She SHOOTS him across the room!

EXT. THE WHITE LOTUS, ARAXIA - CONTINUOUS

A duffel bag drops to the snowy ground.

Kristen climbs out of the back window, and drops to the

ground too. She picks up her bag and starts moving.

INT. SPHINX'S SUITE - MOMENTS LATER

Kandro enters the suite and finds the dead guard. He quickly
rushes out.

INT. THE WHITE LOTUS, ARAXIA - CONTINUOUS

Kristen sneaks around, ducking behind cover wherever she can

find it. Nobody's seen her yet. She peers over a small metal
container. A starship is in the distance. Several aliens
stand in her way.

Kristen makes a run for it. A SPOTLIGHT shines on her.

Suddenly, three HOVER CARS pull up and surround her.

Aliens pour out. Kristen SHOOTS them one after the other
until she's out of ammo.
51.

Her gun CLICKS. She sighs.

KRISTEN
Shit.

Sphinx and Kandro saunter into frame, passing the remaining

armed guards.

SPHINX
Okay, be honest, when you played this
out in your head, did you think it
was really going to work?

Kristen spits at the ground.

KRISTEN
Fuck you.

SPHINX
You're angry. I get it. Truly, I
understand. Family is everything. Who
are we without family? The funny
thing is, I'm actually jealous of
you. I never had a good relationship
with my family. My dad ditched me
when I was young. Didn't like my
Mother too much, and had a love-hate
relationship with my sister. I wish I
had someone like Alonzo willing to go
to bat for me like he is for you.

Beat.

SPHINX (cont'd)
But here's where reality sets in. I'm
not the bad guy here. Let's not
forget, you stole from me! You wanted
to fuck with me! You wanted to put on
your big girl pants. You wanted to
swim around in deep end of the pool,
and what? Think that the sharks were
going to leave you alone? You reap
what you sow.

Kandro hands Sphinx a blaster.

SPHINX (cont'd)
So...

Sphinx SHOOTS Kristen in the arm! She lets out a SCREAM.

SPHINX (cont'd)
That's for making us chase you.
52.

She fires TWO MORE SHOTS -- both in Kristen's leg!

SPHINX (cont'd)
And that's for killing my men.

Kristen drops, and rolls around, writhing in pain.

SPHINX (cont'd)
(to the aliens)
Take her away!

The Aliens DRAG her away through the snow, leaving a trail
of blood behind them.

INT. PRISON LIBRARY - DAY

Shelves are lined with books. Tables and chairs and even a
few potted plants. Probably the best looking place in here.

HANK, the old Librarian, wheels past with some books on a

cart. One drops on the floor.

Vincent, back from the detention center, is there to pick it

up and hands it back to him. He's sporting some bruises on
his face. His hair is a mess. Clothes disheveled.

HANK
Thanks, fella. My name is Hank. You
see anything in here that catches
your eye?

VINCENT
Not yet. I'll keep on looking.

He notices an old RECORD on the cart. He picks it up and

looks over it, curiously.

VINCENT (cont'd)
What's this?

HANK
An old Frank Sinatra record. Greatest
singing voice I've ever heard. I have
some old headphones, and earbuds in
the backroom if you wanna give him a
listen.

Vincent hands him the record back.

VINCENT
Maybe some other time, Hank. Thank
you, though.
53.

HANK
Give a holler if you need anything.

GRATH sits a table, reading. These small, adorable little

reading glasses are on his face. Vincent approaches him.

VINCENT
Grath?

GRATH
Hello, Vincent. Back from the
punishment facility already?

VINCENT
Yeah, only 24 hours thankfully. I
never thought 3g could feel so good.
What are you doing in here, you don't
have job duty?

GRATH
I do. I'm Hank's assistant. He lets
me take a break to read every now and
then. You know, before I was
incarcerated, I loved curling up by
the fire with a good book and become
engrossed in story.

VINCENT
What are you reading?

GRATH shows him the cover. It READS: A GAME OF THRONES.

Vincent nods with acceptance.

VINCENT (cont'd)
Fine book.

GRATH
Yes indeed. Can't quite seem to put
it down.

VINCENT
Hey, you know where Darcy is?

GRATH
I believe she has laundry duty at the
moment. Why?

VINCENT
(quietly)
We're gonna break outta here.
54.

REMI, sitting a table, reading too, shifts her gaze to

Vincent. Her cat ears prick up. She heard what he said.

Vincent looks over to her. A quick glance between the two,

then she goes back to her book, not saying a word.

GRATH
But how?

VINCENT
I'll tell you later.

Vincent walks over, and takes a seat across from Remi.

VINCENT (cont'd)
You look different without a hairnet.

Remi shoots him a look, then goes back to her book.

VINCENT (cont'd)
What are you reading?

She shows him the cover: THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO.

VINCENT (cont'd)
I know that story. It's about a
prison break, right? Never finished
it though. Lost my copy. You getting
any ideas from that thing, or what?

Annoyed, Remi puts down her book for a second.

REMI
If you have something to say that's
more interesting than what's in this
book, tell me. If not, shut the fuck
up and let me read it.

Remi resumes her reading. Vincent looks over her, noticing

bruises on her arms and neck. Before he can ask her--

Clive approaches Remi, putting a hand on her shoulder.

CLIVE
The Warden would like to see you.

REMI
Can it wait? I'm almost done with
this chapter.

CLIVE
No. Now.
55.

Remi gives Vincent a look, then begrudgingly gets up from

her table and leaves.

INT. THE WARDEN'S OFFICE - MOMENTS LATER

The door shuts behind Remi as she enters. She stands

nervous. Almost terrified.

Hartley approaches her. He runs his hands through her hair,

then walks around her in a circle, eyeing her up and down.

HARTLEY
You look good today, Remi.

Remi doesn't answer.

HARTLEY (cont'd)
I said, you look good today.

REMI
T-thank you.

HARTLEY
Don't make me repeat myself. You know
I hate repeating myself.

Hartley brushes his hand against her arm. Remi stands un-
moving. Silent. Looking at his eyes.

He touches her, running a hand gently down her leg, while

stroking her face. He cups her face in his hands and kisses
her. After a beat, he stops and steps back a few feet.

HARTLEY (cont'd)
Remove your clothes.

Remi starts to tremble just a bit. A single tear streams

down her cheek.

HARTLEY (cont'd)
(sternly)
Or do I need to ask a second time?

Hartley watches as Remi begins to remove her clothes. The

bastard just stands there, and smiles while undoing his tie.

HARTLEY (cont'd)
That's a good girl.
56.

EXT. DOCKING BAY, SEDELE - LATER

"SEDELE"

An industrial planet dominated by massive towers in its

downtown Metropolis. Home to many small businesses and
agriculture.

The GOODBYE pulls into a massive docking bay.

SIREN, an Alien Woman with human features and pale,

shimmering skin, stands by smoking a cigarette.

She watches as the ship lands in the docking bay, and

approaches the ramp.

The hatch opens and Alonzo walks down the ramp.

Siren puts out her cigarette, walks over and greets him.

SIREN
How've you been, Alonzo?

ALONZO
I've been better, Siren. It's good to
see you.

SIREN
So, what's this I hear about some
bitch giving you shit? Sounded pretty
urgent on the phone.

ALONZO
My sister owes her a lot of money,
and she has her as collateral until I
pay up. She says, she'll decide when
I'm paid up.

SIREN
And if you don't?

ALONZO
She dies. And I die right along with
her.

SIREN
This chick give you another job,
then? Is that why you're here?

ALONZO
Yes, and no.
57.

SIREN
She gave you another job, but you're
not gonna do it.

ALONZO
Not a chance.

SIREN
(catching on)
You're gonna kill her?

ALONZO
Exactly. But I'm gonna need some
hardware first.

SIREN
Let's go to my office.

INT. GUN SHOP - NIGHT

Siren and Alonzo enter a massive gun store. All sorts of

weapons from the blasters hanging on the walls, to the old-
fashioned vintage six-shooters and rifles in special glass
cases around the store.

SIREN
Follow me. I keep all the good shit
in the back.

INT. BACK GUN ROOM, GUN SHOP - CONTINUOUS

Siren flips on the lights, and presses a button on the wall.

A glass cabinet slides up from the floor with a hiss.

Showcased in the glass cabinet are several sleek, heavy

pistols, laser assault rifles and submachine guns, a large
GRENADE LAUNCHER, along with a few rare looking STEAMPUNK
GUNS. A variety of choices.

Alonzo stares. This is the good shit.

SIREN
You want something that's quick, the
M9 Predator does a decent job. You
wanna create some havoc, may I
recommend the M15 Pulse Rifle?

Alonzo is eyeing that grenade launcher.

58.

ALONZO
What about that one?

SIREN
Grenade Launcher? That's for if you
really want to fuck shit up.

Alonzo takes one of the guns and aims to see how it feels.

SIREN (cont'd)
(off his look)
So, I've been meaning to ask you...
what's the deal with Kristen? What
kind of trouble is she mixed up in?

He places the gun down and looks at her.

ALONZO
My sister is a thief. She made a
living stealing shit that didn't
belong to her. Turns out she stole
from the wrong person this time.

SIREN
Sphinx.

ALONZO
Kristen robbed her house and stole a
lot of money. Sphinx started kicking
in doors until she found her. Kristen
paid everything she had, but it still
wasn't enough. That's when I got
roped into the whole thing.

Siren takes in Alonzo's words.

SIREN
That's why you turned on your team...
and killed them?

ALONZO
You probably think I'm a bastard for
doing what I did.

SIREN
I mean, you had no way out. It was a
tough choice to make either way.
Can't say I wouldn't have made the
same decision in your shoes. But you
could've asked your team for help.

Alonzo stares off.

59.

ALONZO
They wouldn't understand. Besides,
they've wanted me out for so long.
All they cared about was themselves.

Beat.

ALONZO (cont'd)
How much for everything in that case?

SIREN
If you got the money, it's all yours.

ALONZO
Thank you, Siren. I really appreciate
this.

SIREN
Hey, what are friends for? I hope you
kill those sons of bitches.

ALONZO
I will. Every last one of them.

INT. PRISON LAUNDRY - DAY

Darcy pushes a cart of clothes. Grath walks with her.

DARCY
You takin' the piss?

GRATH
Can you please keep your voice down?

DARCY
If you're looking to drown, best find
yourself a shallow pool.

Grath stops her, and looks out for any guards.

GRATH
I think we should hear what he has to
say. This Vincent... he's been the
first person in here to give us real
hope that we could actually escape.

DARCY
Hope is a scary thing in this place.
And besides, since when have you been
so gung-ho about escaping anyway?
60.

GRATH
I miss the sweet air of freedom,
Darcy. Don't you?

A beat. Darcy sighs.

DARCY
Janine visited me the other day.

GRATH
And you didn't tell me? How did it
go? And how's little Fiona?

DARCY
Fiona... she's been taken into Child
Protective Services after a drug bust
at her house.

GRATH
My goodness. Darcy, I'm sorry.

Darcy's eyes start welling with tears.

DARCY
I... I don't even know where they've
taken her.

She wipes her eyes.

DARCY (cont'd)
I can't do this anymore, Grath. I
need to see my daughter.

GRATH
Then join us. We can escape together.
I promise you'll reunite you with
Fiona. I'll take you there myself.

Grath stands, silent and sullen. Darcy looks him over for a
beat, and breathes a heavy sigh.

EXT. RECREATION YARD - LATER

Vincent and Raza are gathered on the bleachers.

RAZA
How confident are you in this plan?

VINCENT
About 12%.

Raza gives him a sideways glance.

61.

VINCENT (cont'd)
I could've lied.

RAZA
I would've preferred if you did.

VINCENT
Here they come.

Darcy and Grath walk up to them.

DARCY
Okay, Vince, Grath tells me you have
an escape plan.

RAZA
Part of one, anyway.

Vincent motions everyone to huddle up.

VINCENT
Okay, the way I see it, the only way
off this rock is by shuttle.

RAZA
The guards change shifts a lot to go
home to their families or friends. We
could steal one of their ships.

DARCY
The guards park their ships
underground. No way we get even
close. Our only shot are the
transport and visitation ships.

GRATH
Which they don't keep docked for very
long, and the schedules constantly
fluctuate.

Beat.

DARCY
That's it? That was your big plan?

VINCENT
Calm down, okay? All we need is
somebody that knows either one of the
schedules, and how much security will
be around them both.

RAZA
How will we get our hands on them?
62.

VINCENT
We won't.

Vincent then points to Cherry, walking across the rec yard.

VINCENT (cont'd)
But she will. We use her relationship
with the guard captain and get her to
squeeze the information out of him.

GRATH
But even if we have the schedule, we
still need to get to the docking bay.
For as long as we've been here, we
still don't know the prison layout
too well. We need the blueprints.

VINCENT
We can ask Cherry to get those from
Leon too.

RAZA
We can't ask him to do so much.
People start getting suspicious.
Questions start getting asked. If he
gets caught, the entire plan blows up
in our face, and the whole lot of us
wind up in the detention facility.

DARCY
Hold the phone here. We talk about
this as if it's a foregone
conclusion. How will we even convince
Cherry to ask him that?

The three of them turn to Darcy.

DARCY (cont'd)
What is everyone staring at?

INT. CAFETERIA - LATER

Cherry sits, eating with a few other women inmates.

Darcy walks up and sits with them, casual as she can be.

DARCY
Howya.

CHERRY
Something you need, Darcy?
63.

DARCY
Mind if I speak with ya, y'know,
alone?

Cherry gives the other female inmates a look. They all get
up and move to another table.

CHERRY
What's up?

Darcy leans in a little close.

DARCY
(softly)
A few of the inmates and I, we're
plannin' an escape.

CHERRY
Oh? And how are you looking to
accomplish that?

DARCY
The layout of the prison would be
mighty helpful. I need you to speak
with Leon--

CHERRY
Stop right there. Consider it done.

Darcy is surprised. She didn't think it'd be this easy.

DARCY
Really? Just like that?

CHERRY
Leon and I are really falling for
each other, but we can't have a
future if I'm stuck in here. He's
been waiting to sneak me off this
rock, but the timing was never right.

DARCY
I'd say this is the best opportunity.

Cherry looks at her and smiles.

CHERRY
I'll talk to him.

Darcy looks over to Vincent, and gives him the okay sign.

Vincent stands by with Tros, Eisma, and Hackett, and gives

Darcy a thumbs up.
64.

EISMA
You've been busy, Vince.

TROS
I'd say.

HACKETT
How come you never filled us in on
this little plan of yours?

VINCENT
I'm filling you in now. You guys in,
or what?

EISMA
Like you even have to ask.

Vincent smiles and fist bumps with Eisma.

RAZA (O.S.)
Even if we do get all that, there's
still the matter of getting to the
hangar.

BACK TO:

EXT. RECREATION YARD - CONTINUOUS

The conversation continues.

RAZA
The guards, and especially not those
robots will let us walk there.

VINCENT
I thought about that. When the time
comes, we'll need a distraction.

Vincent stares ahead.

VINCENT (cont'd)
And I already have just the idea too.

The others turn to see what Vince is looking at--

VERNON and his gang, in their regular spot on the bleachers.

DARCY
You want to mix it up with him again?
65.

VINCENT
That's the idea. Start a riot, and
shake things up. Where there's chaos,
there is opportunity. That's our
window.

RAZA
Those sirens are almost
instantaneous.

VINCENT
Didn't look that way the last time we
set them off.

RAZA
A minor scrap is one thing. If a full
scale riot breaks out, those alarms
will have us down for the count in
seconds.

Vincent gives Raza a look, and smirks.

VINCENT
Not all of us.

INT. PRISON HALLWAY - LATER

Remi silently walks through the halls. Clothes and hair out
of place. A little jittery. Eyes glued to the floor. That
confident facade she's had has been effectively broken.

She doesn't look up and bumps into Vincent.

VINCENT
Sorry about that.

REMI
Watch where you're...!

Remi gives Vincent a look, then composes herself.

REMI (cont'd)
I'm sorry. It's okay.

Vincent walks past her...

REMI (cont'd)
Wait.

...he turns back.

66.

REMI (cont'd)
Listen, um... I'm sorry about before.
The way I snapped at you in the
library.

VINCENT
Not the worst thing a woman's ever
said to me.

REMI
It's just, this place...

VINCENT
I understand. I haven't been here
long, but I see how it can really get
to someone. How long have you been in
here?

REMI
Five years too long.

VINCENT
What'd you do?

REMI
I really needed some money right
away, so I tried to rob a bank.
Would've gotten away with it if I
didn't trip down the bank steps, and
spilled all the money.

Vincent snickers. Remi cracks a smile for the first time.

VINCENT
I don't mean to laugh.

REMI
No, it's fine. You're not the first
person who's laughed at that story. I
don't think we've ever been properly
introduced. I'm Remi.

VINCENT
Vincent Vale. Pleasure's all mine.

REMI
Back in the library, I heard what you
said about gettin' out of here.

VINCENT
How'd you--

Remi points to her cat-like ears.

67.

REMI
I have very good hearing, and your
whispering skills are for shit.

Vincent looks around, making sure no guard can hear.

VINCENT
You're right. I'm putting a crew
together.

REMI
You seem very motivated.

VINCENT
A partner of mine sabotaged a job we
were pulling. Killed some people
close to me, and left me for dead.
He's got whatever he has coming.

REMI
How many do you have?

VINCENT
Six.

REMI
If you'll have me, I'll be seven.

VINCENT
Welcome to the team.

INT. THE WARDEN'S OFFICE - CONTINUOUS

ON THE MONITOR: Vincent and Remi talking with each other.

The Warden, buttoning his shirt, watches on intensely.

INT. PRISON LIBRARY - MOMENTS LATER

HANK, sitting alone in the library listening to a FRANK

SINATRA record on an old record player through a pair of
headphones.

The old man smiles, singing along to the song, imagining

himself there, like he's hearing the man live and in color.

Vincent and Remi approach, and take a seat at the table.

Hank removes his headphones.
68.

HANK
Oh, y'all scared me there. Nearly
gave me a heart attack.

VINCENT
Sorry, Hank.

HANK
I remember you. You're Vincent.
Grath's friend.
(off Remi look)
And Remi's friend, it seems.

REMI
Hey Hank.

VINCENT
That would be me. Mr. Popular.
Listen, Hank, I have a favor to ask
of you.

HANK
Well, sure, what is it?

INT. MOP CLOSET - DAY

Leon and Cherry are inside a strangely large mop closet,

kissing on each other like High School Sweethearts.

The door opens and DARCY enters.

DARCY
Hey, I thought I heard voices in
here.

Darcy looks around in confusion. Leon and Cherry look at her

in bewilderment.

DARCY (cont'd)
You guys are in a mop closet? What
are ya doin' in a mop closet?

Leon, slightly annoyed.

LEON
What is it, Darcy?

Darcy shuts the door behind her.

DARCY
You have what I asked for?
69.

Leon passes her a small folded up piece of paper.

LEON
It took some doing getting my hands
on these.

DARCY
Nobody saw ya?

LEON
I don't think so.

It's been carefully and precisely folded. Darcy unfolds it

into a piece of paper the size of a road map.

THE PRISON LAYOUT. A complicated diagram of locations and

corridors. Important routes on the layout are precisely
marked with red ink.

DARCY
Wow...

LEON
I marked all important routes and
locations with a red marker. One more
thing, there's a visitation ship
arriving tomorrow.

DARCY
I don't think we'll be set by then.

LEON
I figured, so I looked ahead to the
transport schedule. The next one
arrives two days from now. Sometime
around lunch.

CHERRY
Is that enough time for you and the
others to get their affairs in order?

DARCY
I have to talk it over with Vincent.
I don't know how to thank ya, Leon.

LEON
You can thank me by getting Cherry to
the ship, alright? I'll be waiting.

Darcy nods a thank you. She leaves.

70.

INT. A-BLOCK CORRIDOR - LATER

Vincent is laying down on his bed, staring up at the

ceiling, thinking. Laser Bars not on his cell. A rare time
of leisure for prisoners where they can walk around.

REMI (O.S.)
Hey.

He turns. Remi stands outside his cell.

VINCENT
I thought women weren't allowed in
this part of the prison.

REMI
They keep us in different cell blocks
for a reason, but not everyone
follows that rule.

She points to a cell down the line. Vincent looks--

A HUMAN MALE and ALIEN FEMALE kissing. Inhaling each others

lips like they're devouring a roast.

The Man doesn't like being watched and decides to hang up a

white sheet for privacy.

REMI (cont'd)
Listen, let's talk about this plan of
yours. It's good, but you've been
overlooking one thing. That alarm.
The guards don't control it. It comes
from The Warden's office. He's just
going to turn it back on again.

VINCENT
What's your point, Remi?

REMI
My point is, that alarm is a massive
x-factor. You need somebody in there
to shut it down permanently, or else
we're not gonna get very far.

VINCENT
Are you volunteering?

REMI
Of course. That's why I'm here.

VINCENT
You can get in the Warden's office?
71.

REMI
Easier than I'd like to admit.

VINCENT
And what if he's onto you?

Remi lifts up her shirt and shows him--

A MEAT CLEAVER. Gleaming blade. Handmade. Wooden handle.

REMI
I stole this from the kitchen.

Vincent and Remi trade looks.

REMI (cont'd)
The Warden's untimely death is long
overdue. The things he's done... how
certain are you in this escape plan
of yours?

VINCENT
It's not going to be easy, but I like
our chances.

Remi lowers her shirt down as a GUARD approaches the cell.

GUARD
Vale, Vincent. You got a visitor.

INT. VISITATION AREA - CONTINUOUS

Vincent takes a seat across from Samantha, smiling.

SAMANTHA
Don't give me that look.

VINCENT
I knew you'd come back.

SAMANTHA
I came back to see if you've changed
your mind about...
(softly)
About escaping.

VINCENT
I haven't. And I should tell you now,
I'm gonna be out of here sooner than
you think. But I need you as my Plan
B in case things go South.
72.

VINCENT (cont'd)
I need you orbiting the planet,
waiting to pick us up.

SAMANTHA
Wait, "Us?" Vincent, you're one
thing, but releasing other criminals
back out into the galaxy?

VINCENT
They're not all bad. I trust these
people.

SAMANTHA
Do you know where you are? It's
prison. You shouldn't trust anybody.

VINCENT
I'm not asking for much.

SAMANTHA
You're asking for a lot, actually.

VINCENT
Sam, I need this. Please.

Samantha stays quiet. She stares at Vincent for a long beat.

INT. WOMEN'S BATHROOM - DAY

Remi comes out of the shower and finds Darcy at one of the
sinks, smoking a cigarette. She walks over.

REMI
You smoke?

DARCY
Only when I'm nervous. I wish it were
a pint of Guinness instead. If I were
drunk most of the time, maybe it
wouldn't be so bad in here.

Darcy offers her one. Remi shakes her head.

A beat passes by before either woman says anything.

REMI
Tomorrow's the big day.

DARCY
That it is. You have anybody waitin'
for ya on the outside?
73.

REMI
No. The last time I saw my family, I
told them to go fuck themselves, and
left when I was real young.

DARCY
What's your plan when you get outta
here?

REMI
I haven't really thought about it, to
be honest. I guess I'm just gonna run
and see how far I can get. Maybe open
a bar on a beach somewhere.

DARCY
A woman after my own heart.

REMI
What about you?

DARCY
Stay far, far away from drugs. That's
what landed me here in the first
place. I also have a daughter out
there waiting for me. She's three
right now.

REMI
What happened?

DARCY
I was pregnant when I came here. Gave
birth to my daughter a month into my
sentence. Having a baby on this
planet in this gravity was hard
enough. But when I saw her, I was
happier than I'd ever been in my
life. I obviously couldn't keep her
in here, so I had to give her away.

REMI
That must've been hard for you. And
you haven't seen her since?

DARCY
No. And as far I know, she's with a
foster family right now.

REMI
What's her name?
74.

DARCY
Fiona. Fiona Gallagher.

REMI
That's a lovely name.

DARCY
Of course it is. I gave it to her.

The two women share a laugh.

DARCY (cont'd)
I've been thinking about how my
daughter has no idea what I look
like. When I finally see her, she'll
be looking at a stranger, and not her
own mother.

Darcy wipes her eyes.

REMI
The important thing is that we will
get out of here, and you will see
your daughter again.

Remi reaches out and wraps an arm around her.

INT. RECREATION YARD - LATER

As the other inmates converse with one another, Vincent

stands with his team--

Remi, Raza, Darcy, Grath, Eisma, Hackett, and Tros.

A fully assembled team ready to execute a daring escape.

DARCY
Why not just tell the whole prison
what we're doin'?

GRATH
Darcy has a point, Vincent. Our
increase in numbers is worrying. It
might attract unwanted attention.

TROS
(to Vincent)
I knew this was a bad idea.
75.

VINCENT
Can you guys relax? As far as
everyone else is concerned, we're a
newly formed prison gang.

DARCY
At least tell me why the three of
them are gettin' involved in this.

HACKETT:
The four of us came in here together.

REMI
So what?

EISMA
So we knew him first, and we want in.

REMI
We're not assembling a team for
dodgeball here. If this plan fails in
any way, the Warden will kill us and
make it look like an accident.

Raza looks to Vincent.

RAZA
Do you see what you've caused?

VINCENT
Okay, listen up, everyone. Whether we
like each other, or not. This is the
team as is. We've come this far.
Allow me to take you a little
further. I just need you to trust me
for one more day.

The group nods in agreement.

VINCENT (cont'd)
Darcy, you have the layout memorized?

DARCY
As best as I can.

VINCENT
And what time will the ship be here?

DARCY
Leon told me sometime around lunch.
76.

VINCENT
When that riot goes down, it's going
to be utter chaos, but it's what
happens after that we need to be
prepared for.

Vincent looks to Raza.

RAZA
I'll be ready.

VINCENT
If we follow the plan, we'll all get
out of here, and the Warden won't
know what hit him.

INT. THE BREAK ROOM - NIGHT

A nice little break room where the GUARDS hang out and
socialize.

CLIVE is there, along with LEON, and few other guards

playing a game of POKER.

Leon lays down his hand, and the others groan in frustration
and fold.

LEON
Gimme all the chips, baby! All the
chips.

CLIVE
This is the longest string of dumb
luck I ever seen.

LEON
I think you meant to say skill.

WARDEN HARTLEY enters. A cold look on his face. The whole

room falls silent.

GUARD
Care to join us for a game, Warden?

HARTLEY
Everybody leave.

The Guards get their things together and make for the exit.

HARTLEY (cont'd)
(to Leon)
Not you.
77.

Everybody leaves. Leon remains seated. Hartley pulls up a

chair himself.

HARTLEY (cont'd)
Leon, did I ever tell you how I got
to be Warden here?

LEON
Sir?

HARTLEY
It took over a decade to build a
prison on this planet. The amount of
time and money that went into this
place is absurd. The prisons on Earth
were getting overcrowded and they
needed someplace to house the worst
of the worst. Not only that, but they
needed a man to watch over them. They
needed a man who could bend just a
little, but never break. They needed
a man who demanded respect. I was
that man.

Leon listens intently.

HARTLEY (cont'd)
I've seen a lot of people come, and a
I've seen a lot of people go. But the
one constant is that these guards,
and these inmates... they knew never
to cross me.

Leon raises an eyebrow. He perks up just a little.

HARTLEY (cont'd)
You know how I keep things steady
around here? It's fear. Fear and
respect. But I've had my moments of
fairness. I allow certain luxuries
and indulgences from time to time.
You start a relationship with one of
the inmates, and I let it slide
because you're my Captain of the
Guard. You're a good man. And that
Cherry is a peach.

LEON
I'm sorry to interrupt, Warden, but
where exactly is this going?

Hartley places a TABLET on the table, slides it to Leon.

78.

ON THE TABLET-- LEON and CHERRY, sneaking into a room with

the door marked: CONTROL ROOM.

HARTLEY
I didn't think much of it at first. I
thought, "Okay, he and his lady
wanted a new place to have sex." And
that's fine by me. Until a guard
happened to pass by the room,
listened into your little
conversation, came to me, and tipped
me off to what you're doing.

Beat.

Hartley stares at Leon. Leon stares back, and leans forward.

LEON
And what am I doing, Warden?

HARTLEY
Helping inmates escape by gathering
information for them.

Hartley slowly rises out of his chair.

HARTLEY (cont'd)
After all I've done for you, you turn
around and bite the hand that feeds
you? Give me one good reason why I
shouldn't have you and your slut
girlfriend thrown in the detention
facility until both of your hearts
give out.

Leon sits back for second, looking the Warden over. Now, he
gets up out of the chair and stands face-to-face with the
Warden, not backing down an inch.

LEON
You want a reason? Here's one: I know
you've been pocketing some of the
money the Prison Board sends you to
fix this place up.

Leon smiles. Hartley REACTS to this.

LEON (cont'd)
Guards talk. Sometimes maybe too
much. I don't say a thing because you
spread it around, and I need the
money.
79.

Hartley stares at him, emotionless.

LEON (cont'd)
What do you think they'd do to you if
they took a closer look at that?
Giving you carte blanche over the
prison is one thing. But stealing
money from them? Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. They
wouldn't like that one bit. If you
fire me, or if anything happens to
Cherry, I'm going straight to them.

Both men with icy stares.

Hartley finally breaks. A smile creeps over his face. Then,

he nods. Almost impressed that someone stepped up to him
this way.

He steps aside, giving Leon a free path to exit.

Leon walks over to the door, not taking his eyes off the
Warden with each step he takes.

The minute Leon puts his hand on the door...

A high pitched SONIC FREQUENCY fills the room. Leon falls to

his knees, clutching his ears, curling up in a ball on the
floor. His entire body locks up like he's been paralyzed.

Behind Hartley's back -- The SONIC TASER.

On the back of his ear--

A HIDDEN EARPIECE. He taps it. NOISE CANCELING earbuds

appear in his ear.

Hartley turns the device off, removes the earbud from his
ear, and walks over to Leon. He helps him up and proceeds to
THROW him against the wall.

Leon is still feeling the affects of the siren and can

hardly defend himself.

HARTLEY
Remember this, and take it to the
grave with you...

HARTLEY THRUSTS A KNIFE IN LEON'S CHEST!

HARTLEY (cont'd)
... this is my world.

He TWISTS THE KNIFE for good measure.

80.

Leon drops to the floor, DEAD.

HARTLEY (cont'd)
Smith, get in here!

CLIVE, who's been standing outside the door the entire time,
re-enters the room.

Hartley hands him a WAD OF CASH.

HARTLEY (cont'd)
Thank you for the information.
Consider this your promotion, new
Guard Captain.

Clive gladly takes the money with a big smile on his face.

HARTLEY (cont'd)
Get rid of the body.

CLIVE
What about the other possible
escapees? The transport ship is on
its way tomorrow.

HARTLEY
And?

Clive stares at him in confusion.

CLIVE
They'll try to escape.

HARTLEY
And they'll fail.

INT. PRISON HALLWAY - CONTINUOUS

Cherry is walking down the hallway. A smile on her face.

She turns the corner for just a second, and looks on in

horror as Clive and a couple other guards carry Leon's
bloody body out of the room.

Hartley walks out next, fixing his clothes. He turns--

Cherry ducks back into cover, hoping she hadn't been seen,
and puts her hand over her mouth so she doesn't scream.

After a beat, she carefully peers her head around again...

HARTLEY IS THERE! Cherry is scared stiff.

81.

HARTLEY
Hello, Cherry. Let's chat.

INT. PRISON CHURCH - MOMENTS LATER

An empty church with empty pews. So quiet you could hear a

pin drop in this place.

GRATH stands before a statue of Mary, looking up at it,

praying quietly. A ROSARY is clasped and hangs from his
praying hands.

REMI (O.S.)
Didn't take you for the religious
type.

Grath turns. Remi walks up to him.

GRATH
I wasn't until I found myself in
here.

REMI
But didn't you almost break a man's
legs once? I thought violence was no-
no? Turn the other cheek and whatnot.

GRATH
Well... momentary lapses happen from
time to time. Then, I come here.

REMI
(after a beat)
You really believe in this stuff?

GRATH
I think everybody believes in
something. You'd be surprised how
much power there is through prayer.
I've prayed for freedom, and in comes
Vincent. All of a sudden, we're one
day away from attempting an escape
from this place.

Grath turns to Remi, sees her wiping her face.

GRATH (cont'd)
Have you been crying?

REMI
I was earlier, but not for me. For
the Warden.
82.

GRATH
The Warden?

Remi's tone becomes serious.

REMI
I think about what I'm going to do to
him... and it makes me cry. It
fucking terrifies me.

Grath watches as Remi walks away.

INT. DARCY'S HOLDING CELL - NIGHT

Darcy sits in her cell, studying the prison layout, tracing

certain locations and routes in black marker.

She looks up at an old photograph taped to her wall:

The image of Darcy holding her baby girl. Moments before

they took her away. She looks at with a determined look on
her face.

INT. RAZA'S HOLDING CELL - CONTINUOUS

Raza is wide awake, lying on his bed, and staring straight

up at the ceiling.

INT. GRATH'S HOLDING CELL - CONTINUOUS

Grath sits in the dark, praying to himself.

INT. REMI'S HOLDING CELL - CONTINUOUS

Remi sitting up on the bed, nervously tapping her feet.

INT. VINCENT'S HOLDING CELL - CONTINUOUS

Vincent sits on the edge of his bed, staring straight ahead

at the wall. He clenches his hands into fists. We know all
too well what's on his mind.

He stands up and breathes a sigh. It's almost time.

83.

INT. COCKPIT, GOODBYE - LATER

Alonzo sits at the controls, flying through space. Focused

and with purpose.

EXT. GALVEON - DAY

A large transport ship passes our view. Old and gray. The
paint just peeling off in little flakes. It heads for the
prison.

The Mechanical sliding doors open and the transport ship

enters the hangar bay.

INT. C-BLOCK CORRIDOR - DAY

Remi, along with other female inmates, step out and wait
patiently on the yellow line.

Clive approaches Remi.

CLIVE
Warden wants to see you.

INT. CAFETERIA - CONTINUOUS

The inmates are moving along, eating lunch, and going about
their day. A bunch of guards patrol. A single Robot Guard
with them.

Vincent, Grath, and Raza sit at a table together.

Eisma, Hackett, and Tros take their seats at a table behind

theirs. Vincent nods at them.

Darcy is in line, waiting for her food.

Everything is copacetic so far. The whole crew, waiting with

bated breath to execute their daring escape plan.

Darcy sits at Vincent's table.

VINCENT
Have you seen Remi?

DARCY
I haven't seen her since yesterday.

Vincent glances over at the clock.

84.

VINCENT
I don't know how long we can wait for
her. We have to do this now, or not
at all.

INT. THE WARDEN'S OFFICE - CONTINUOUS

Clive walks Remi up to the door.

CLIVE
Go on in. He's waiting for you.

Remi opens the door and enters the office.

Hartley approaches her, standing with a serious look.

HARTLEY
How are you, Remi?

Hartley places his hands on her shoulders. The serious

expression on his face morphs into a smile. He HUGS her.

HARTLEY (cont'd)
Come, have a seat with me. I was just
getting ready to have a drink.

He walks away, but Remi stays locked in place. He turns--

HARTLEY (cont'd)
There's supposed to be a person
behind me.

Remi walks, cautiously. Hartley takes a seat at his table.

She approaches the chair. In the seat directly next to her--

CHERRY LAYS DEAD. Slumped over. A bloody corpse.

Remi screams and steps back.

HARTLEY (cont'd)
You must think I'm an idiot. You
think I don't know what goes on in my
own prison? I have eyes and ears
everywhere. This is my fucking
kingdom!

Beat.

HARTLEY (cont'd)
Now, sit... down!
85.

She glares at him.

HARTLEY (cont'd)
Or do I need to ask you a second
time?

INT. CAFETERIA - CONTINUOUS

Vincent is waiting around, about tired of waiting.

VINCENT
We've waited long enough.

He gets up and walks over to CRAZY ANDY, sitting alone at a

table, neatly assorting his food, and making sure his peas
don't touch his mashed potatoes.

VINCENT (cont'd)
Hey Andy.

ANDY
Hello, do you want my peas? I don't
really like them too much.

VINCENT
No thanks. Is it true they call you
Crazy Andy?

Andy face twitches like a crazy person.

ANDY
What...?!

VINCENT
Whoa, I didn't say it, but that big
guy over there...

Vincent points to Vernon, and his gang at the far table.

VINCENT (cont'd)
Said you're absolutely mental.

Andy rocks back and forth in place, on the brink of

insanity.

ANDY
He can't... he can't say that. He-he-
he, doesn't know me. Why... would he
say that?

Andy slaps his head with his hand multiple times.

86.

VINCENT
The real question is what are you
going to do about it?

Andy stares at him, then leaps out of his seat, and makes a
beeline for Vernon and his whole crew.

Andy walks directly up to Vernon and SLAPS HIM IN THE FACE!

VERNON
You little shit!

Vernon PIE FACES Andy down to the ground. The guards are
immediately on the scene.

Vincent looks to Eisma, Hackett, and Tros and nods.

Hackett and Tros PUNCH random inmates in the face. Eisma

goes the extra level, and SOCKS a nearby guard in the face.

ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE. The cafeteria is immersed in total

fucking chaos. Inmates start swinging on anybody that's
moving, throwing whatever isn't nailed down to the floor.

Grath is tossing people around with ease. Darcy is BASHING

people away with several metal trays.

Vincent looks to Eisma.

EISMA
What?

VINCENT
A guard?!

Eisma knocks down an inmate.

EISMA
You said swing on anybody!

In the midst of the chaos, Vernon finds Vincent.

VERNON:
I know you had something do with that
you piece of stool.

VINCENT
Take it easy big guy.

Vincent PUNCHES Vernon right in the face. Raza comes up from

behind and takes him down with a LEG SWEEP. A High-Low
takedown combination.
87.

HACKETT downs a guard and goes for his weapon. He's

ELECTROCUTED by one of the ROBOTS. The Robot hits him in the
back, taking him down to the ground.

The Robot HAMMERS him with its fists. Blood sputters out of
Hackett's mouth. He gets beaten to death.

INT. PRISON HALLWAY - CONTINUOUS

An alarm BLARES. FOUR MORE ROBOTS race down the hall to the
cafeteria, ready to put an end to the rabble.

INT. THE WARDEN'S OFFICE - CONTINUOUS

Remi can't even look at Cherry's dead body. She keeps her
glare on The Warden, who's looking at the massive riot
happening all over his TV screens.

HARTLEY
I actually feel sorry for you. You
and your friends will die in the
punishment facility one by one. One
month in there sounds satisfactory.

She glares at him.

HARTLEY (cont'd)
Right. Time to put an end to it.

He reaches for the dial that activates the sonic whistle.

INT. CAFETERIA - CONTINUOUS

ABSOLUTE BEDLAM. Guards are taken down before they can pull
out their weapons.

Inmates are still tearing each other apart.

Right as the other Robots enter, the SONIC WHISTLE turns on.

Everybody falls to the ground, holding their ears in pain.

Just like that, the riot is over.

INT. THE WARDEN'S OFFICE - CONTINUOUS

Hartley looks over his screens, shaking his head.

88.

HARTLEY
Was this your big escape plan? It
looks like it's over before it even
got started.

A smirk on Remi's face.

REMI
Does it?

Hartley watches on.

INT. CAFETERIA - CONTINUOUS

Whatever is left of the guards, start cleaning up the mess,

and picking up bodies. Everybody seems immobilized.

All but one...

A guard reaches down and grabs Raza's arm...

RAZA'S EYES POP OPEN. HE GRABS THE GUARD BACK.

A single punch and the guard is flung across the cafeteria

like a rubber ball.

In Raza's ears... Noise Canceling Earbuds of his own,

shielding him from the sonic whistle, pretending to be
knocked out this whole time.

GUARD
(to robots)
Get him!

The Robots immediately move on Raza with malicious intent.

INT. THE WARDEN'S OFFICE - CONTINUOUS

Hartley's smug expression has been wiped clear off his face.
His hubris has finally gotten the better of him.

He reaches for the dial again...

REMI LEAPS ON HIM. The two roll across the floor.

INT. CAFETERIA - CONTINUOUS

With enough force behind his punch, Raza is able to PUNCH

OUT the Robot and knock it across the floor.
89.

Another Robot comes up from behind and ELECTROCUTES Raza.

But the Cyborg does not go quietly. Through nothing else but
sheer will...

RAZA GRABS THE ROBOT'S ARM...

... AND RIPS IT RIGHT OUT OF ITS SOCKET!

The one Guard in the corner is shocked beyond belief.

Raza uses the arm and SWINGS it like a baseball bat BASHING
it into the body of the machine!

Another robot approaches...

Raza WHACKS the robot's head CLEAN off its shoulders!

He reaches for a nearby guard's BLASTER and fires MULTIPLE

LASER BEAMS SHOTS at the final robot, destroying it.

Then, he sets his sights on the guard. Still scared.

GUARD
(into comms)
Warden? Anybody?

Raza grabs the Guard's comms and CRUSHES it in his metal

hand, then headbutts him for good measure, knocking him
unconscious.

INT. THE WARDEN'S OFFICE - CONTINUOUS

Hartley throws Remi against the wall, hand over her throat.

HARTLEY
Beg for me.

REMI
Fuck you.

HARTLEY
I was going to kill you first, but I
can see now that's too good for you.

While Hartley rambles on, Remi reaches around to the back of

her pants...

HARTLEY (cont'd)
I've got news for you. What I have in
store, you'll make me wish I killed
you. Such a disappointment. A
creature as beautiful as yourself.
90.

Hartely holds Remi by the throat, and undoes his belt

buckle.

HARTLEY (cont'd)
Hold still. Squirming will only make
it worse.

...THEN...

REMI GRABS THE CLEAVER AND SLASHES HARTLEY!

Hartley falls to the ground. His THROAT CUT. Blood spilling

over his hands and through his fingers. The sight of his own
blood terrifies him. He tries crawling away.

Remi stalks him. Walking slowly. Carefully. A cold look on

her face. Holding the cleaver like a serial killer.

REMI
Beg for me, Warden.

Hartley is backing away, scared for his life.

REMI (cont'd)
Do I need to ask a second time? I
hate repeating myself.

Hartley RUSHES her... REMI SLASHES HIS FACE!

He falls to the ground again. Remi mounts him, and raises

the cleaver.

REMI (cont'd)
It's not your world anymore.

REMI STABS THE WARDEN. AGAIN. AND AGAIN. AND AGAIN.

Hartley is clearly dead after the first few slashes, but

Remi keeps HACKING and WHALING away at him in a blind,
crazed, psychotic RAGE.

INT. CAFETERIA - CONTINUOUS

Vincent and his team regain consciousness, and regroup.

EISMA
That was very cathartic.

Tros kneels by Hackett. Body has been beaten to death. He

turns to the group and shakes his head.
91.

RAZA
Won't be long before they send
everyone else. We won't get lucky
again.

EISMA
We need some firepower.

DARCY
I know the way to the weapons room.
Leon marked it on the map.

VINCENT
Then let's...

REMI (O.S.)
Vincent! Vincent, come in!

Vincent hears Remi's voice coming from somewhere, but he

can't pinpoint it.

Tros brings over one the guard's CB Radios. Remi's voice

comes over it again, calling for Vincent.

VINCENT
Remi? Where are you?

REMI (O.S.)
The Warden's office. Cherry is dead.

Vincent looks to Darcy.

DARCY
If she's dead, then they probably got
to Leon too.

The group stands around for a beat.

EISMA
Vince, we can't keep standing around.
We're wasting a lot of time here.

DARCY
Go after her, Vincent. We'll meet you
at the Docking Bay. We won't leave
without you. You have my word.

Darcy hands him on the guard's weapons.

DARCY (cont'd)
And stay safe.

They give each other a nod.

92.

INT. WEAPONS LOCKER - MOMENTS LATER

TWO GUARDS fly across the hallway as Darcy, Grath, Raza,

Eisma, and Tros enter the guard's weapons room.

EISMA
Tros, keep watch.

Tros nods and stands outside the doorway.

RAZA
Everybody grab something. Quickly.

The inmates pick their poison, equipping themselves with

pistols.

Eisma and Darcy each go for the same assault rifle.

DARCY
Let's have that.

EISMA
Uh-uh, this one's mine.

DARCY
I had my hand on it first.

EISMA
You have five seconds to get your
hand off--

Raza, fed up with their shit, GRABS the gun for himself, and
gives them both a look.

INT. THE WARDEN'S OFFICE - CONTINUOUS

Remi sits on the floor, covered in blood.

Hartley's horribly mutilated body is a bloody mess right

beside her on the ground.

She's broken down and reduced to tears after what she's

done, and the repeated torture she's suffered at the hands
of the Warden. She can finally let it out.

Beat.

VINCENT enters, exchanges looks with Remi. He looks on in

stunned silence.

REMI
Vincent...
93.

She hugs Vincent tightly. Vincent looks her over.

VINCENT
You're okay?

Remi wipes the tears from her face, and nods.

VINCENT (cont'd)
Come on, everybody else is waiting
for us.

REMI
We should take the back way out.

VINCENT
Okay. I just need to make one last
stop first.

INT. PRISON HALLWAYS - CONTINUOUS

Raza, Tros, Eisma, and Grath make their way down the halls,
each carrying a weapon.

Darcy takes point, studying the layout map, leading them.

DARCY
Okay... this way.

They turn the corner and there's guards waiting for them,
and they immediately OPEN FIRE.

Blasters shots bouncing off the walls. SPARKS fly.

DARCY (cont'd)
Okay, maybe not that way.

The others FIRE BACK. A flurry of laser fire.

TROS GETS A BLASTER SHOT IN THE CHEST. TWICE.

He drops right to the floor.

EISMA
Tros! Bastards!

Eisma UNLEASHES a full volley of laser fire from her gun.

Raza tackles her out of the way before a laser narrowly

misses her.

They stare into each others eyes.

94.

EISMA (cont'd)
Thanks for the save, handsome.

Grath looks and sees two Robots coming. The Guards keep
coming too. How much longer can they keep this up?

GRATH
Our odds are not looking too
favorable at the moment!

RAZA
Everybody move, now! Fall back!

The group turns to leave. Eisma drags Tros on her shoulders.

RAZA (cont'd)
Leave him. He's dead.

Eisma props him up against the wall, and leaves with the
others.

Coming around the corner, Darcy and the others run into
Vincent and Remi, weapons pointed. They don't pull the
trigger, instantly recognizing each other.

VINCENT
Scared the shit out of me.

RAZA
Likewise.

VINCENT
Is it just us that's left?

RAZA
Yeah, but we need to keep moving.
They're right behind us.

The group takes off.

INT. THE WARDEN'S OFFICE - CONTINUOUS

Clive and the other guards survey the damage in the office
and the dead Warden's body. He can't even look at it.

The Warden's TV screens have been DESTROYED. His control pad

HACKED to pieces. The sonic whistle dial has been torn off.

CLIVE
I want every robot and guard we have
with me. They don't make it out of
here alive. Understood?
95.

INT. DOCKING BAY - MOMENTS LATER

The group makes their way to the docking bay....

EISMA
You have got to be kidding me...

The transport ship has been neutralized.

Its wings clipped. Landing gears broken. The glass windows

have been peppered with gunfire. The whole front side of the
ship is smoldering as if it was lit on fire earlier.

REMI
No. No, no, no, no.

Remi falls to her knees in disbelief.

Eisma PACES, running her hands through her hair in stress.

GRATH
Now's not the time to lose our heads.

EISMA
When is the time, then?! Our only way
out has been fucked! Any minute now,
those guards and those robots are
going to come in here, and we're
finished.

VINCENT
I should've seen this coming. I knew
they'd try and screw with our escape.
Darcy, are you absolutely sure we
can't get underground to the guard's
ships?

DARCY
Even if there was a way, we'd never
make it now. The prison is crawling
with guards and robots.

Vincent puts his hand on his head. Eisma turns.

EISMA
I hear them coming.

REMI
What do we do, Vincent?

VINCENT
I have a Plan B, but we need to get
out on the surface.
96.

VINCENT (cont'd)
Raza, you say you've been to the
punishment facility before, right?

RAZA
More times than I would like.

VINCENT
Do you think you'd know the way there
on foot?

INT. PRISON CORRIDOR - CONTINUOUS

CLIVE leads point with HOST of guards and robots,

approaching the docking bay doors.

CLIVE
Bring it down.

INT. DOCKING BAY - CONTINUOUS

The doors EXPLODE in and fly across the ground. Clive leads
them inside, and looks around for them...

They're all GONE. Clive smirks.

CLIVE
They're running. We've got 'em.

EXT. SURFACE, GALVEON - CONTINUOUS

Moving over the sand dunes on Galveon.

Vincent, Raza, Remi, Darcy, Grath, and Eisma move along,

running for all they're worth.

EISMA
How much longer can we keep this up?!

RAZA
We're almost there!

Vincent looks down at something in his hand.

They walk over a particularly large sand dune. The

Punishment facility can be seen in the distance.

RAZA (cont'd)
Alright, Vincent, we're here. Now
what?
97.

Vincent suddenly stops dead in his tracks. The others fall

behind him, confused.

DARCY
Vincent, what's the hold up? We're
sittin' ducks out here.

EISMA
They got us right where they want us.

GRATH
Those wretched machines are gaining,
and fast.
(to Raza)
No offense.

RAZA
None taken.

REMI
They're right, Vince. If they close
in on us, we're through. Whatever
plan you've got, it needs to kick in
right about now.

Vincent looks around. His glance moves from the punishment

facility to the ground. He feels the dirt in his hands, then
starts LAUGHING. Cackling loudly. Almost delirious.

EISMA
What has gotten into him?

DARCY
I think he's finally gone out of his
head.

REMI
You mind filling us in on the joke,
Vincent?

He turns with a smile on his face.

VINCENT
We're standing right over the
planet's north pole.

DARCY
And?

VINCENT
And now, this baby comes into play.

Vincent shows them what's in his hand -- A GOLDEN COMPASS.

98.

FLASHBACK TO:

INT. HOLDINGS AREA, GALVEON PRISON - TWO DAYS EARLIER

Samantha walks through a METAL DETECTOR. She BEEPS.

GUARD
I'm afraid I'm gonna need you to
empty your pockets, ma'am.

Samantha hands her phone and GOLDEN COMPASS out of her

pocket to the SECURITY GUARD, who stuffs both in a box
underneath his station.

INT. VISITATION AREA - CONTINUOUS

Vincent and Samantha finishing their conversation from

earlier.

VINCENT
Sam, I need this. Please.

Samantha stays quiet. She stares at him for a long beat...

Then, she leans forward, speaking softly.

SAMANTHA
When is it going down?

VINCENT
Tomorrow.

SAMANTHA
I brought something with me.
Something that I won't be leaving
here with.

VINCENT
What is it?

SAMANTHA
Your way out.

Vincent listens intently.

SAMANTHA (cont'd)
It's a monopole. I had it rigged for
you just in case your escape goes
tits up and you find yourself on the
run across the planet.
99.

SAMANTHA (cont'd)
When the time comes, and you're
standing right over the planet's
north pole...

VINCENT
Where the Detention Facility is.

SAMANTHA
Exactly. If you can make it there,
I'm sure you'll be smart enough to
figure out how to use it. Only
problem is, it'll be locked up in the
holdings area.

VINCENT
I'll deal with that. What does it
look like?

SAMANTHA
It'll be in the shape of a large,
golden compass.

VINCENT
And where will you be?

SAMANTHA
My ship will be above the planet.
I'll try to fly as low as possible.
The planet has a very powerful
electromagnetic field. My ship isn't
designed to land on this kind of
planet. If I try, I'll get sucked
into its pull and just crash to the
surface.

Vincent and Samantha hold their hands in each others.

VINCENT
Thank you, Sam. I owe you.

SAMANTHA
I know.

INT. HOLDINGS AREA - CONTINUOUS

Samantha walks back through the holding area, nods to the

security guard, who offers her the cell phone and compass
back. She shakes her head and leaves. The guard puts both
items back in the box.

BACK TO:
100.

EXT. SURFACE, GALVEON - PRESENT DAY

The crew is confused how the compass is supposed to help,

but Vincent just looks at it, smiling.

VINCENT
(to himself)
Thanks, Sis.

REMI
Vincent, how is a compass going to
help us?

VINCENT
It looks like a compass, but it's
not.

Vincent opens the large compass the size of a compact disc.

We see a long magnetized needle pointer with the red half on
North and the blue half on South like any other compass.

But this is a different kind of compass. Specially made and

rigged for this exact type of situation.

VINCENT (cont'd)
It's a magnetic monopole.

GRATH
Magnetic monopole?

VINCENT
If you were to break a magnet in
half, it doesn't mean one half is
north, and the other is south. Each
piece has its own north and south
poles. But a magnetic monopole
doesn't follow those rules. It only
attracts in one polarity.

DARCY
Meaning?

RAZA
Meaning, the south would attract...

VINCENT
And the north would repel us right
over the magnetic field line.

The ROBOTS are arriving. Eisma looks on.

101.

EISMA
Can we skip the physics lesson and
get to the point before we all die?

Vincent RIPS the pointer off its jewel bearing and holds it
in his hand.

Then, he RIPS one piece of the pole off. The SOUTH half.

VINCENT
When I say, everybody grab onto me.

He drops the south half of the pole on the surface--

IT'S WEIGHED DOWN INTO THE GROUND.

The NORTH HALF, he sticks onto his belt--

VINCENT (cont'd)
Now!

Everybody grabs onto a body part of Vincent as--

THE NORTH HALF REPELS EVERYBODY INTO THE AIR.

The Robots and guards get there, but it's too late. A few
armed guards trail behind them, looking up in defeat.

Eisma looks down and LAUGHS UPROARIOUSLY.

EISMA
So long, fuckers!

Clive looks to his guards.

CLIVE
What are you all waiting for? Get a
ship and get after them!

GUARD
We won't be able to get to them in
time. They're gone, sir.

Clive throws down his comm device.

CLIVE
Damn it!

EXT. SPACE ABOVE GALVEON - CONTINUOUS

The six inmates continue flying upwards.

102.

DARCY
Vincent, now what?

VINCENT
Now, that.

A blue starship hovers over the planet. It repels out a

long, silver grappling line with a metallic handle, lowering
just far enough for Vincent to grab onto.

Vincent GRABS onto the handle. It RETRACTS and pulls them

all into a HATCH OPENING below the ship. It shuts and the
ship takes off, leaving orbit, and the prison planet.

INT. HANGAR BAY, SAMANTHA'S SHIP - CONTINUOUS

Samantha takes a LIFT down to the hangar bay. Supplies and

shipping crates neatly organized around the area.

She sees Vincent and the others, lying on the ground and
breathing heavily. Exhausted, bruised and banged up, but
victorious.

GRATH
YES!

Grath's sudden excitement and exuberance surprises them.

GRATH (cont'd)
My apologies.

Eisma is lying on top of Raza.

EISMA
We gotta stop meeting like this.

Raza throws her off.

Remi runs over to the nearest window, looking down on the

prison, and breathes a sigh of relief. She'll never see it
again. None of them will. Mission accomplished.

REMI
We did it.

Samantha extends her hand, and helps Vincent to his feet. No

words, just a warm embrace between brother and sister.

VINCENT
Thank you so much, Sam.
103.

SAMANTHA
It's good to have you back, little
brother.

They release their hug. Sam looks him over.

SAMANTHA (cont'd)
You look like shit run over twice.

VINCENT
It's good to see you too. How'd you
know when to come pick me up?

SAMANTHA
I told you I'd be waiting. And the
magnetic signature of the monopole I
left you came up on radar, so it had
to be you.

VINCENT
That monopole worked like a charm.

SAMANTHA
I paid a lot of money to have it
rigged, so it better have.

The other inmates approach. Samantha glances over at them.

An odd assortment of people if she ever saw one before.

SAMANTHA (cont'd)
I see you've made... friends.

VINCENT
Yeah, I'll be glad to introduce you
properly later, but we have some
business to discuss.

SAMANTHA
Oh, what, you need more things?

VINCENT
In a manner of speaking.

SAMANTHA
Before we do anything, we should
probably get you all some new
clothes. Something... less
inconspicuous.

EISMA
I don't mean to interrupt this tender
moment, but I know where we can go
where people won't look twice at us.
104.

Vincent and Sam trade looks.

EISMA (cont'd)
I swear I'm not bullshitting you.

Vincent turns to Sam.

EXT. SPACE - LATER

"KINDRAX"

From orbit, it looks like a brown/green marble. A

mountainous world settled by Mercenaries, Pirates, etc. A
moderately lawless planet.

Sam's ship bullets down to the planet.

INT. KINDRAX PORT - DAY

Sam leads Vincent and his crew of escapees, now out of their
prison garb and in more casual, form fitting wear to--

KINDRAX PORT, a misty, Cyberpunk looking bazaar filled with

aliens and humans, passing by in drones. Neon lights
attached to buildings. Steam coming from the bars.

Trading and bustling as MERCHANTS also peddle their wares.

EISMA
Kindrax Port.

SAMANTHA
What's so special about this place?

EISMA
It's an outlaw world. They don't care
about who you are, where you came
from, or whatever you did. The space
forces wouldn't dare come here. In so
little words, we're safe. And I use
that term extremely loosely. You see
that tower in the distance?

Eisma points in the distance to the highest tower in the

port.

EISMA (cont'd)
A woman named Sloane rules from
there. Everything goes through her.
105.

REMI
You have experience with this place?

EISMA
You could say that.

Samantha turns and hands Darcy and Raza each a file.

SAMANTHA
Vincent asked me to look into a few
things on the way here, and I was
surprised how easy it was to find. In
those files -- the location of your
daughter, and the location of those
scientists that experimented on you.
Also included, to Vincent's request,
a little bit of traveling money to
help you both get there.

Raza and Darcy trade stunned looks.

RAZA
Thank you. I really appreciate this.

SAMANTHA
No problem.

Darcy doesn't say a word. She just hugs her. Samantha looks
to Vincent. He shrugs.

SAMANTHA (cont'd)
You're very welcome.

Darcy finally releases. Samantha walks to Vincent.

SAMANTHA (cont'd)
I made an arrangement with a friend.
He should be here in a few minutes
with a ship and some money waiting
for you. Give him this, and my name.

She hands him a suitcase.

VINCENT
I don't know how I can thank you,
Sam.

SAMANTHA
You can do me a big favor and stay
out of trouble. I can't do this
again, Vince.
106.

VINCENT
You won't have to. I promise.

They HUG.

VINCENT (cont'd)
When I deal with everything and
finally get settled someplace, I'll
have the family over.

SAMANTHA
I'll hold you to that. See you
around, baby brother.

Sam looks to everyone else.

SAMANTHA (cont'd)
Take care of yourselves, guys. It was
nice meeting you all.

Sam walks away, leaving Vincent with the others.

RAZA
I guess this is where we part ways.

VINCENT
I guess so.

Vincent and Raza stare for a beat, then shake hands.

RAZA
You're quite the man, Vincent Vale. a
good friend. You've earned my utmost
respect. If we ever cross paths
again, anything you need, you can
count on me.

VINCENT
Thank you, man. Take care of
yourself.

Raza nods, turns to walk away, but Eisma stands in his way.

EISMA
Hey, if you need someone to watch
your back, among other things, I
could maybe come with you.

Raza doesn't answer and walks past her.

EISMA (cont'd)
(sighs)
He's an oak, that one.
107.

VINCENT
(to Eisma)
What are you gonna do now?

EISMA
I might hang around here for a little
while. I have some people that owe me
a few favors. I'll be alright.

Eisma stops in front of Darcy and Grath.

EISMA (cont'd)
(to Darcy)
For the record, it's been miserable
working with you.

DARCY
Likewise.

She walks past them and disappears into the Bazaar.

DARCY (cont'd)
(to Vince)
Vincent, thank you. For everything. I
had no hope until I met you. I owe ya
my life.

VINCENT
You don't owe me anything. I hope you
find your daughter.

Darcy HUGS him. Grath joins in and makes it a group hug,

hugging them both tightly.

VINCENT (cont'd)
(straining)
Oh my God...

Remi laughs. The group hug finally stops.

DARCY
(to Grath)
Shall we?

GRATH
We shall. It's been a pleasure making
your acquaintance, Vincent.

Darcy and Grath leave. Only Vincent and Remi remain now.

VINCENT
And then there were two.
108.

REMI
I never thought I would ever get out
of that place, but here I am. After
everything I went through, it almost
feels surreal. Like a dream I'm about
to wake up from. I can't believe it.

VINCENT
Trust me, you're not dreaming. It's
definitely real. And as much as I'd
love to stay and soak in the fresh
air with you, I have some unfinished
business with an old friend.

REMI
Alone?

VINCENT
Yeah. Why?

REMI
I... I thought we could help each
other.

Vincent turns and looks at her.

REMI (cont'd)
I don't really know where else to go
from here. I don't know anybody in
the area, I don't have family, or any
revenge seeking. Maybe I can help
you, stay with you. We're the only
friends we've got at the moment.

Vince stares at her for a long beat.

EXT. SKIES ABOVE ARAXIA - LATER

A silver starship hovers above the White Lotus.

INT. COCKPIT, VINCENT'S STARSHIP - CONTINUOUS

Vincent sits in the Pilot seat looking over The White Lotus
in Araxia. His eyes widen.

REMI (O.S.)
What happened down there?

REMI, sitting in the Co-Pilot seat, turns to him.

109.

VINCENT
Let's find a place to set the ship
down.

EXT. THE WHITE LOTUS, ARAXIA - DAY

Vincent walks, armed with a Blaster, flanked by Remi.

They stop and look around. Stunned to see--

A FIELD OF DEAD BODIES.

Several ALIENS all dead, lying in pools of their own blood.

Bodies just scattered everywhere, lying in awkward
positions.

KANDRO is lying among the dead. Blaster holes in his body.

Small fires broken out in random places. Empty weapons and

guns sprawled about the floor. BULLET HOLES in the saloon
and brothels. Smoke from all the gun and laser fire still in
the area.

Vincent continues walking and sees the GOODBYE ship, missing

its left wing. An overall wreck. It'll never be the same.

Remi stands next to him.

REMI
What is it?

VINCENT
This used to be my ship.

INT. SPHINX'S SUITE, ARAXIA - CONTINUOUS

The door is wide open. Vincent and Remi enter, to find--

A trail of blood sliding down the wall leading to...

SPHINX. Lying dead on the floor.

ALONZO (O.S.)
You found me.

ALONZO in the corner of the suite, bruised, bloody, and

holding Kristen's limp body in his arms.

Vincent doesn't know what to think.

Beat.
110.

VINCENT
I put a transmitter in my ship the
day I got it. It wasn't that hard to
find you.

ALONZO
You always were a smart guy, Vince. I
see you escaped the inescapable
prison.
(meaning Remi)
And you brought a friend.

Vincent looks at Remi.

VINCENT
This is Remi. We helped each other
escape. Us and a few others.

ALONZO
Must've been hard.

VINCENT
You have no idea.
(meaning Kristen)
Who is she?

ALONZO
This is my sister.

VINCENT
You never told me you had a sister.

ALONZO
There's a lot of things about me I
never told you. Not like you gave a
shit. Her name was Kristen. She owed
money to the dead woman you see lying
on the floor there. If I didn't pay
her what she owed, she'd kill her.

Remi looks to Vincent, stunned.

ALONZO (cont'd)
I was fed up with it. All of it.

FLASHBACK TO:

EXT. THE WHITE LOTUS, ARAXIA - DAY

Sphinx walks along the snowy surface with Kandro at his

side, waving at people along the way.
111.

Snow falls in small flakes, like something out of a dream.

Her face changes, sensing something.

KANDRO
What is it?

SPHINX
Do you hear that?

They turn to see something in the distance. A starship

heading towards the planet. They watch as it gets closer and
closer...

IT'S FLYING DIRECTLY AT THEM.

KANDRO
Shit!

They RUN.

INT. COCKPIT, GOODBYE - CONTINUOUS

Alonzo sits at the controls, eerily calm as he SPRAYS the

area with BLASTER FIRE.

EXT. THE WHITE LOTUS, ARAXIA - CONTINUOUS

EVERYBODY is running and ducking for cover from this madman.

Some make it, some are shot down in the ground.

Kandro and Sphinx run as BLASTER FIRE kicks up the ground

behind them. They're able to find cover in a small ditch.

The starship SWOOPS over the area.

The two of them make a MAD DASH for the saloon and take
cover by the barstand.

SPHINX
It's Alonzo!

KANDRO
No shit! That psychopath!

Sphinx panics. It takes her a while before she composes

himself.

SPHINX
Go after his sister, I'll--
112.

KANDRO
No, you go for his sister...

Kandro reaches under the barstand and pulls out an insanely

large ENERGY GUN.

KANDRO (cont'd)
He's mine.

The Goodbye ship FLIES BACK around for one more go.

KANDRO steps right out in the line of fire, lugging his

massive weapon. He takes AIMS his weapon, following Alonzo's
ship with his eyes, and FIRES.

A MISSILE comes SHOOTING out of his gun, on course for

Alonzo.

A DIRECT HIT on the right half of the ship! Its left wing
flies right off! The GOODBYE is going down. A cloud of black
smoke as the ship makes a CRASH LANDING to the ground.

Kandro nods to some armed aliens. They charge for the ship.

INT. HANGAR, GOODBYE - CONTINUOUS

Alonzo stands tall. Calm and collected. Locked and loaded.

Armed to the teeth in guns, and ready to shoot the first
person he sees.

The ramp lowers. He walks out.

BACK TO:

INT. SPHINX'S SUITE, ARAXIA - PRESENT DAY

Vincent looks at him, listening intently.

ALONZO
But I was too late, Vince. When I
finally got in, my sister was already
dead. Bleeding to death. They left
her in here to die. So I killed her.

Vincent and Remi give each other a look. Dead silence after
listening to Alonzo's story.

ALONZO (cont'd)
You came to kill me, right?
113.

VINCENT
You killed my friends. Killed Maggie.
It's only fair.

ALONZO
What was I supposed to do?

VINCENT
Alonzo, all you had to do was ask us
for help. Instead, you turned on us
to save your own ass.

ALONZO
There was nobody closer to me in my
life than my sister. She was the only
family I had left. If given the
choice again and again, I pick her
every single time.

The two stare at each other for a beat.

ALONZO (cont'd)
Now, what am I supposed to do?

VINCENT
I don't care. I really the fuck
don't.

Vincent points his gun at Alonzo.

ALONZO
Do what you gotta do, Vincent.

Alonzo turns away from Vincent. His glance goes back to his
dead baby sister. He's got nothing left to fight for.

ALONZO (cont'd)
Just kill me.

Vincent looks over Alonzo, blaster pointed, prepared to coil

and fire. He stares him down for a long beat.

Remi looks at Vincent, worrisome. She's not going to

intervene. This decision is his and his alone to make.

Beat.

Vincent lowers his gun and breathes a heavy sigh.

VINCENT
I thought long and hard about what I
was going to say and do to you when I
got out of prison.
114.

VINCENT (cont'd)
All I could think about was tracking
you down and shooting you dead for
what you did.

Alonzo looks up at him.

VINCENT (cont'd)
But if there's one thing I learned in
my very short time there is that I
never want to go back. This is my
second chance to live the rest of my
life and not throw it away over
stupid decisions. You're not worth
it, man.

Vincent turns and prepares to leave. Alonzo gets up.

ALONZO
So, you're not gonna kill me? After
everything you had to do to get here?
To get this moment? That's it? You're
just gonna walk away?

He turns back.

VINCENT
I'm sorry about your sister, Alonzo,
but I have lost people close to me
too. Because of you. You don't get
any sympathy from me. You wanna die
so bad...

Vincent drops the blaster on the ground, and kicks it over

to him.

VINCENT (cont'd)
Kill yourself. I'm done with you.
Goodbye, Alonzo.

Alonzo's eyes follow Vincent and Remi out. He stares down at

the blaster as we--

DISSOLVE TO:

-- SERIES OF SHOTS --

We get a glimpse into what each of the characters are doing

with their newfound freedom, starting with:

EXT. ALPHA DISTRICT, KINDRAX - NIGHT

A commercial area filled with shops and businesses.

115.

A Hover Car pulls up to an apartment complex. Eisma exits.

INT. EISMA'S APARTMENT - CONTINUOUS

Eisma flicks on the lights to her apartment.

An outlaw known as JAIME, a blue-skinned Alien Male in a

Brown Trenchcoat, sits in a chair with a gun on the table.

EISMA
Jesus Christ, Jaime. You scared me.
The hell is wrong with you, sitting
in the dark?

JAIME
I wanted it to be a dramatic moment.
I heard you were back in town, and
figured you'd come home eventually. I
see you didn't last long in prison.

EISMA
I had some help.

JAIME
The team's waiting on you.

EISMA
Good. Sloane is in my seat. Let's go
knock her ass out of it.

EXT. STREETS, MEIRITH - NIGHT

"MEIRITH"

NIGHTTIME. Moving over a rain-slicked city on the planet,

MEIRITH. Flying vehicles and towering skyscrapers dominate
the city. Neon lights, streets lined with outdoor shops and
bakeries with HOLOGRAPHIC ads in its windows.

A Hover Taxi Cab pulls up outside an apartment building.

RAZA steps out wearing a hoodie, and pays the CAB DRIVER.

RAZA
Thank you.

The Taxi drives away. Raza stares ahead at the apartment

building. In the window, he sees--
116.

INT. APARTMENT BUILDING - CONTINUOUS

A shady looking BUSINESSMAN on a cell phone, looking out of

his window, and holding a drink in his hand.

EXT. STREETS, MEIRITH - CONTINUOUS

Raza looks down at the files in his hands. He opens it and

looks at a PHOTO of the Businessman in the window, along
with a number of other SCIENTISTS in White Lab Coats.

He closes it, pulls the hood over his head and crosses the
street, heading right for the apartment.

EXT. COUNTRY ROAD - DAY

Deep blue sky overhead. Fat, billowing clouds. Below them...

A country road that stretches on for miles. Lined with

trees, and lush, tall green grass. This could be a great
place for old people to retire to. It's peaceful and quiet.

A HOVER CAR passes through.

INT. HOVER CAR - CONTINUOUS

GRATH drives. DARCY sits in the passenger seat, quiet and

nervous. They drive in silence for a while.

GRATH
Darcy?

DARCY
Yea?

GRATH
Are you sure you're ready for this?

Beat.

DARCY
Yea. I am.

They drive on.

117.

INT. DINER - DAY

A modern looking diner in the middle of lunchtime. Not a lot

of people around, but there are others eating lunch and
drinking some coffee.

VINCENT sits in a booth drinking some coffee.

REMI sits across, shoving her mouth with pancakes.

REMI
I feel like it's been a lifetime
since I've had pancakes.

Remi takes a bite and notices Vincent, staring off.

REMI (cont'd)
You thinking about Alonzo?

VINCENT
No. He's the furthest thing from my
mind right now. Actually, I'm
thinking about the others. You think
they're doing okay?

REMI
I think they're fine. They seem like
capable people.

Beat. Vincent finishes his coffee.

VINCENT
Hey, let's get outta here.

REMI
Yeah, sure.

INT. HOVER CAR - CONTINUOUS

Vincent sits in the driver side. Remi buckles herself in the

passenger side her pancake leftovers in a doggy bag.

REMI
So, where are we going?

VINCENT
Wherever we want. We're free. There
must be something you want, somewhere
you wanna go, right?
118.

REMI
Well, I did mention to Darcy that I
wanted to open a bar on a beach.

VINCENT
I've thought about working in a bar
myself at some point in my life.

REMI
I could use a business partner.

VINCENT
Mixing drinks. Tossing out drunks.

REMI
Patio tables with those umbrellas
over them.

VINCENT
Maybe track down my sister, Darcy and
the others, and invite them to the
