PRISON BREAK
Written by
Gerald Prophete
FADE INTO:
He takes his hands off the wheel and lays his head back
against the seat, trying to maintain his composure.
BRAND (O.S.)
(over comms)
Vincent?! Vincent, are you there?
Come in! Please tell me you made it
out.
VINCENT
(into comms)
I'm here. I'm... I'm fine.
BRAND (O.S.)
(over comms)
Oh, thank God.
VINCENT
(into comms)
Did you guys get out okay?
BRAND (O.S.)
(over comms)
I had to shoot my way out, but I'm
fine. I picked up Dmitri before the
space forces got to him.
Vincent sighs and brushes his hand over his face in stress.
2.
VINCENT
(into comms)
Alright, listen... get into contact
with Alonzo and meet at the
warehouse. And be careful.
BRAND (O.S.)
(over comms)
Copy.
BRAND
What the fuck were you thinking?! You
didn't have to shoot them!
3.
ALONZO
They made a move.
DMITRI
What move?! They were on the floor
like we left them. The entire time!
ALONZO
A teller sounded the alarm. One of
those people on the floor had a gun.
I saw him reaching for it. Had to be
an off-duty cop, or somethin'.
DMITRI
You lyin', man. I was looking right
at you!
ALONZO
I know you're all super pissed, but
you gotta listen to me...
BRAND
It was supposed to be a robbery,
Alonzo. A simple heist. Not a blood
bath. Dead cops, and dead civilians?!
VINCENT (O.S.)
You son of a bitch!
ALONZO
Vincent, you need to be cool.
VINCENT
We had the diamonds. I said, "Let's
go!" But you wanted to be a Madman
and start shooting. Turn the place
into a fucking bullet festival.
ALONZO
(getting up)
I warned them what would happen. I
told them straight out if any of them
made any sort of move at all, they'd
get a bullet. They didn't wanna
listen, and got what they deserved.
VINCENT
The hell's the matter with you?
ALONZO
What's the matter with you? It's not
the first time we've shot at people,
or been shot at.
VINCENT
If we left when we did, we wouldn't
have had to outrun the cops and
Maggie would still be alive.
DMITRI
Maggie's... but I thought...?
VINCENT
She's lying dead in the bathroom.
DMITRI
How?
VINCENT
How do you think? The cops shot her.
Brand runs her hand through her hair and starts pacing.
BRAND
Shit, this is bad. So many cops
swarmed that place, we're lucky we
got outta there alive. I never seen a
response time so fast.
ALONZO
Tell me somebody's got the diamonds
somewhere. I didn't go through all
this to end up with nothing.
DMITRI
Relax, I got 'em. Listen, I don't
know about the rest of y'all, but we
need to get a move on. It's too hot
to just be standing around here. If
the space cops find us, they're going
to shoot first and ask questions
later.
ALONZO
He's right. They could be on their
way now, and driving fast.
VINCENT
We're not done here.
ALONZO
Vince, we ain't got time for this
now.
VINCENT
Gimme one good reason. One. Good.
Reason, why I shouldn't blow your
brains across this floor.
ALONZO
How's that for a reason?
BRAND
Vince, we need to go. Now.
ALONZO
Moment of choice, Vince. You wanna
walk away and live to see tomorrow,
or spend the rest of your life in
prison? In less than a minute, this
whole place is gonna be surrounded by
space force officers, and this time,
we're not gonna be so lucky. I don't
know about you, but I can't afford to
go to prison right now. So, you can
either put down the gun, so we can
clear outta here. Or shoot me.
VINCENT
(into comms)
Everyone listen, take alternate
routes. Rendezvous at the spaceport
in ten minutes. We'll leave
immediately.
VINCENT (cont'd)
I know, I know.
BRAND
I'm done with him, Vincent. I'm tired
of his shit.
VINCENT
We'll cash out the diamonds, give him
his cut and let him go.
Alonzo THROWS the wheel hard left and SLAMS Vincent's Hover
Car even harder.
VINCENT
Goddamn it!
BRAND
Watch out, Vincent.
Vincent moves his head back. Brand has her own pistol and
starts opening fire at Alonzo's Hover Car.
7.
BRAND (cont'd)
Motherfucker!
Both Hover Cars are flying down the streets. Several Police
Hover Cars BARREL down after them in the distance.
Vincent tries to move out of the way, but it's too late. His
hover Car COLLIDES with the side of Alonzo's.
POLICE CHIEF
Face on the ground, and put your
hands behind your head.
Vincent turns over on his stomach and puts his hands on his
head. The Cops immediately cuff and take him into custody.
DMITRI
Hey!
ALONZO
Where the hell were you?
DMITRI
The streets are crawling with cops,
man. I had to take a different route
to get here.
DMITRI (cont'd)
Where are Vincent and Brand?
ALONZO
I don't know. You got the diamonds,
right?
DMITRI
You don't know? Well, what the hell
you standin' around here for? Let's
go get 'em.
9.
ALONZO
No.
DMITRI
No? What--?
DMITRI (cont'd)
Alonzo...
ALONZO
Gimme the diamonds, Dmitri.
ALONZO (cont'd)
I'm not asking.
ALONZO (cont'd)
You reach for that gun, I'll kill
you.
DMITRI
You're fucking crazy, man. Why are
you doing this?
SAMANTHA
Dear sweet baby brother, you look
like a man who could use one last hot
meal before they send you off to the
clink. It's nice that you remembered
my number, by the way.
VINCENT
Who was I gonna call, Sam?
SAMANTHA
It's taking a lot for me not to
respond with Ghostbusters.
VINCENT
I am really not in the mood for your
jokes right now.
SAMANTHA
Vince, you're lucky I even answered
the phone. I had to leave my husband
alone with two sick kids. I don't
hear from you for months, and when
you finally decide to call me, you're
in jail?
VINCENT
I can explain.
SAMANTHA
Please do.
VINCENT
We were pulling a job at some diamond
place. Alonzo went crazy and started
shooting everyone because he thought
one of the guards or tellers made a
move against him. He ran me off the
road while we were escaping, then
drove off to let me get captured. If
I'm going to prison, I want his ass
in there with me.
SAMANTHA
Fat chance we can even find him now.
If I was Alonzo, I would've gotten as
far away from this part of the galaxy
as possible to somewhere outside of
the space forces' jurisdiction.
11.
VINCENT
That son of a bitch. The next time I
see him--
SAMANTHA
You don't get to be mad, and blame
other people. The blame lies with
you, and you alone.
VINCENT
What?
SAMANTHA
Vincent, you run with a crew space
pirates. You stole from people, beat
people up, blew places up, and I
think you once helped import drugs.
You're my brother, I love you, but
don't talk to me like you're self-
righteous 'cause you're not.
SAMANTHA (cont'd)
(sighs)
Look, I'm going to be straight with
you. It doesn't look good. They've
got you for class one assault, theft,
robbery, and whatever else they're
probably gonna dig up and find. Three
people died, your friends, I assume,
and not to mention the people at the
diamond place, and a few cops. Since
Alonzo is M.I.A., they're pinning the
whole thing on you. You're looking at
a life sentence.
VINCENT
I didn't kill anybody. That was all
Alonzo. I may have done some bad
things, but murder isn't one of them.
Isn't there anything you can do?
Sam gives him a somber look, then shakes her head. Vincent
lowers his head.
VINCENT (cont'd)
Where are they sending me?
12.
SAMANTHA
The Hanar facility on Galveon.
VINCENT
The high gravity prison?
SAMANTHA
The very one. I'll pull up the data
for you.
SAMANTHA (cont'd)
The gravity is only 1g along the
equator, but most of the planet, and
where the prison is situated is 3gs.
VINCENT
So I'd weigh three times what I
normally weigh.
SAMANTHA
That's exactly right. Your body will
adapt over time, but you'll still
feel a little weird. The gravity can
go up to 6, or 7gs at the poles.
People have been known to die at that
kind of force.
VINCENT
It'll make it harder to break out.
SAMANTHA
I hate to discourage you, Vince, but
nobody, and I mean nobody has ever
broken out of that place.
SAMANTHA (cont'd)
This is where we say goodbye,
brother. I'll try and visit.
VINCENT
Don't give up on me yet, Sam.
HACKETT, a human man with a shaved head and scars all over
his arms.
And TROS, another Alien with Snow white skin and a spider
web tattoo on his neck.
Vincent looks out the window and his eye catches something.
All of them painted Black with a single red robot eye. They
roll across the ground like tanks, but a little faster.
The ramp opens and the SECURITY GUARDS lead the prisoners
out. They all stand shoulder-to-shoulder in front of--
LEON
Eyes front!
HARTLEY
Welcome inmates. Today is the first
day of the rest of your lives. This
handsome gentleman to my right is Mr.
Leon Williams, my Captain of the
Guard. I am The Warden. My name is
Andrew Hartley, but you will address
me as "Warden." I know what you're
thinking, "This is a mistake. I don't
belong here. I'm innocent." Rest
assured, I really don't give a shit.
Once you walk through those doors,
your ass belongs to me.
HARTLEY (cont'd)
If you're already having bright ideas
about escaping, I'd advise against
it. Just a few short minutes before
you got here, an inmate named Percy
Hoffman managed to jump the wall in
the recreation yard. A gross lack of
misjudgment on our part, but a
wonderful example for those who have
thoughts of freedom. Let's see how
he's making out, shall we?
15.
One of the Robots step forward and holds its hand out. Its
palm GLOWS with a red light and projects a large SCREEN.
The Guard Robots simply catch him and start PUMMELING him to
death. He never stood a chance.
EISMA
So if we try to escape, you'll kill
us. Got it. Thanks for the lesson,
you fucking schmuck.
HARTLEY
Do not speak unless you are spoken
to. That is one of two punishments
you can get around here. This prison
is only operating at 3gs. The
punishment facility at the North pole
can go up to 7gs. So go ahead, start
a fight, backtalk a guard, hell even
look at any of us funny and that's
what you can expect.
HARTLEY (cont'd)
In other words, this is my world.
Shut the fuck up, or you die.
HARTLEY (cont'd)
Enjoy your stay.
16.
SECURITY GUARD
Get your ass up! If you can't learn
to move in gravity this low, you
won't last very long.
The Guard hoists him up and tosses him across the ground.
TATTOOED MAN
Fuck you lookin' at, new fish?
Beat.
17.
FADE TO BLACK
MAGGIE (O.S.)
You finally decided to wake up, eh?
VINCENT (O.S.)
You got a problem with that?
MAGGIE (O.S.)
Sure, if you can keep quiet. You're
snoring woke up half the galaxy.
FADE IN:
MAGGIE
You ever thought about what you'd be
doing if we never met?
VINCENT
You pick the weirdest time of the
night to ask questions like this.
MAGGIE
Come on, I'm serious.
VINCENT
I don't know. Probably disappointing
my parents by working in a bar, or
something. Throwing out drunks for
causing trouble. Bang a different
woman every night.
MAGGIE
(laughing)
You asshole.
18.
MAGGIE (cont'd)
I've always... you know, wanted to be
an important businesswoman, and come
home to my husband and children.
VINCENT
The simple life.
MAGGIE
Exactly.
VINCENT
I feel like we've had this
conversation before.
MAGGIE
We have. You just never listen to me.
VINCENT
I do listen. It's something that's
been on my mind.
MAGGIE
Then let's just get out.
VINCENT
Honestly, I have been getting bored
of this lately. You just get to a
point where you don't want to do it
anymore. It's not like we even need
the money anymore.
MAGGIE
Right? We have all that. Business
hasn't exactly been booming either.
We can let the others continue on if
they want to.
VINCENT
We're keeping the ship, though. I
went through a lot of shit to get it.
MAGGIE
Yes, fine, we can keep the ship.
VINCENT
Alonzo's been bugging me about
another job.
19.
VINCENT (cont'd)
This huge diamond place on Andros.
Like literally bothering me about it.
Says it could be big.
MAGGIE
We do this one job...
VINCENT
Then we'll get out. That's my word.
We pull the job and break the news to
everyone at dinner later that night.
Deal?
MAGGIE
Deal.
They kiss.
BACK TO:
LEON (O.S.)
Everybody line up!
LEON
On the line, inmate.
GUARD
All clear.
20.
LEON
Alright, breakfast time, maggots. Hop
to it!
Much like A-Block, a Robot rolls down the line. This time,
Warden Hartley follows a Guard as he does the count.
GUARD
Breakfast time!
HARTLEY
Good morning, Remi.
HARTLEY (cont'd)
I said, good morning.
REMI
Good morning, Warden.
(after a beat)
I have to go help out in the kitchen.
HARTLEY
You were just going to leave and not
say good morning to me?
HARTLEY (cont'd)
That's rude. I want you to make it up
to me by seeing me later.
21.
REMI
Warden, I'm not really feeling well,
and I have laundry duty later.
HARTLEY
I'm sorry?
REMI
It's just, I...
REMI (cont'd)
Okay, I'll come and see you.
He lets go.
HARTLEY
That's what I thought you said.
FEMALE INMATE
You're late, Remi. You okay?
REMI
I'm fine. Just leave me alone right
now.
Remi pushes past her to the front to help serve the food.
His eyes meet with Remi's. She doesn't say anything to him,
then slaps something that looks like scrambled eggs and a
piece of bread on his plate.
VINCENT
Nothing to drink?
REMI
You get what you get. Move along,
inmate.
VINCENT
Are there any forks?
REMI
I said, fuck off!
VERNON
The hell's taking so long?!
VERNON
3g is nothing, fish. At this rate,
you'll die of heart failure.
VERNON (cont'd)
You look like you wanna leap. Take a
swing, bitch. Do me a favor.
LEON
We got a problem here, Vernon?
VERNON
Nah, no problem. No problem at all.
LEON
Then get back in line.
23.
TROS
You tryin' to get yourself killed?
VERNON
Guards ain't gonna be around all the
time, fish!
The two other inmates that came in with Vincent -- Eisma and
Hackett, are seated a table.
HACKETT
How can you eat this shit?
EISMA
I haven't had a decent meal in a
while. When you're really hungry,
you'll eat just about anything.
TROS
You crazy, man? You heard what The
Warden said. You act up, you get sent
to the Detention Facility.
VINCENT
What do you care?
TROS
We're all new. Came in at the same
time. Might as well stick together.
HACKETT
How are you adjusting to this place?
VINCENT
I didn't expect 3g to be this rough.
EISMA
Luckily for me, and Tros over here,
Aliens have an easier time adapting
to this gravity than humans do.
24.
VINCENT
Have any of you had a chance to case
the place? See if there's a way out?
EISMA
What are you, high? We all saw what
these robots did to that guy who
tried to bust outta here. The Warden,
and probably all these guards, have
those sonic devices too. I'm just
gonna stay in my lane and finish my
sentence.
RAZA (O.S.)
Good luck.
The four turn to a man sitting a few feet down the table.
RAZA. The look of a man you had better not fuck with. A
brown haired, half Man, half Machine combination. Two ROBOT
ARMS showing through his sleeveless top.
VINCENT
And you are...?
EISMA
A cutie pie. What's your name, hun?
RAZA
This one's name is Raza. Nobody has
ever served their full sentence and
been allowed to leave.
VINCENT
That doesn't seem fair.
RAZA
The Warden could care less about
fair. You can forget about escaping.
It's impossible.
HACKETT
How are you stuck in here? Shouldn't
you be able to hack your way out, or
some shit?
RAZA
That's not how my body works.
TROS
Is your whole body mechanical?
25.
RAZA
No, just my arms...
RAZA (cont'd)
And my eye. The Warden took it from
me when I tried to escape, along with
48 hours in the punishment facility.
(after a beat)
There is nothing you can try that he
hasn't seen before. Now that you're
in, you're never getting out. Nothing
to do, but just wait and die.
Raza gets up from the table with his food tray and leaves.
EISMA
Quite the cheery thinker, that one.
HACKETT
He's got a point, though. Like it or
not, we're stuck in here.
Remi just walks away. Vincent bends down to pick them up.
Another PRISONER comes along and knocks Vincent down into
the pile of clothes.
Some are just content with walking around. Others are either
lifting weights, tossing a football, or baseball around,
shooting craps, or just chewing the rug with one another.
ARMED GUARDS keep watch. The Robots aren't too far behind.
VINCENT
Sorry, I--
VINCENT (cont'd)
Ah, shit.
VINCENT (cont'd)
I don't want any trouble, big guy.
GRATH
It's okay.
VINCENT
Say what?
GRATH
I apologize. I should've been more
mindful of my surroundings. I was in
your way.
VINCENT
...right.
DARCY (O.S.)
Don't worry. He doesn't bite.
DARCY
Not unless I tell him to, anyway.
Howya, I'm Darcy. Darcy Gallagher.
Pleasure to meet ya.
VINCENT
Vincent Vale.
DARCY
You're the new guy, eh?
VINCENT
What gave it away?
DARCY
Everybody has the same reaction when
they meet Grath for the first time.
They're so afraid of him, but he's a
teddy bear.
VINCENT
So, he's harmless?
DARCY
(chuckles)
I wouldn't say that now. He can beat
someone up pretty good if he wants.
Once saw him beat up a man so bad, it
took him two weeks to get the feeling
back in his legs.
GRATH
Would you like to be friends,
Vincent?
DARCY
You'd dare not refuse.
VINCENT
Uh... yeah, sure.
Grath picks him up for a big bear hug and places him down.
DARCY
Walk with us. I'll give ya the grand
tour.
DARCY (cont'd)
Already met the Warden, I take it?
VINCENT
Yep.
DARCY
He's a right ponce, isn't he?
VINCENT
I guess so. Whatever that means.
GRATH
You're fine with us, Vincent. We're
good company to keep in a place like
this.
DARCY
That lot over there... well that's a
different story.
VERNON sits atop the bleachers, above the rest. The leader.
29.
DARCY (cont'd)
Big man's name is Vernon. He leads
one of the prison gangs in here.
DARCY (cont'd)
... and I see you've already met.
VINCENT
Yeah, we're old friends.
DARCY
He's a g-monster. A man that size
moves around in 3g like a spring
daisy. You see that fella over there
in the corner, standin' like a
muppet?
CRAZY ANDY, a man with scraggly red hair and glasses walks
around in a circle, laughing at nothing.
DARCY (cont'd)
I'd avoid that one.
GRATH
They call him Crazy Andy.
DARCY
Whatever you do, don't say that to
his face. He's one fruity pebble away
from Bedrock. This one on the other
hand...
GRATH
They call her Cherry, short for
"Cherry Bomb." You can take a guess
what she did to get in here.
VINCENT
What'd she blow up?
GRATH
It's more of a who. Several who's.
VINCENT
Oh...
30.
DARCY
She's sweet on one of the guards. Oh,
speak of the devil.
VINCENT
She's dating the Captain of the
Guard? The Warden doesn't care about
that?
DARCY
You'd be surprised what the Warden
does and doesn't care about in here.
When you're on another planet, some
things are easier to get away with.
GRATH
So, Vincent, what are you in here
for?
VINCENT
Armed Robbery, assault, theft, and a
few other things.
DARCY
Like hell you say. Didn't figure a
handsome gent like you got his hands
dirty. Lemme guess... a space pirate?
DARCY (cont'd)
I thought Pirates were smart enough
to not get caught.
VINCENT
A member of my crew screwed me over.
Left me to twist in the wind. When I
get outta here--
DARCY
I'm sorry. Backtrack. When?
GRATH
You're considering breaking out?
VINCENT
Once I get a feel for the place.
31.
DARCY
You takin' the piss? You've been here
fer a cup of coffee, and you're
already making escape plans?
VINCENT
I've heard it's impossible.
GRATH
You heard right. Even if you do
manage to get up and over those
walls, where will you go? It's desert
for miles and miles.
DARCY
And then, it's only a matter of time
until those mechanized tanks find ya
and kill ya. You ever see what they
do to a man?
VINCENT
Yeah, I've seen.
GRATH
If the robots don't get you, the heat
and dehydration most certainly will.
You have to be perfect to execute a
proper escape from this place. Nobody
has. Nobody ever will.
DARCY
Face it, Vince, this is your home
now. You might as well move in some
furniture while you're at it.
Vincent sighs.
"ARAXIA"
SNOW FALLS over the small, pastel colored town with stone
buildings.
ALONZO
Where's Sphinx?
KANDRO
(off look)
You must be Alonzo. Sphinx told me
she'd be expecting you. My name is
Kandro. Follow me.
SPHINX
Alonzo! Welcome back.
SPHINX (cont'd)
You don't look happy to see me.
ALONZO
I cashed in the diamonds. I got your
money. Just take it.
Sphinx gives Kandro a look. He takes the case from him and
looks inside.
SPHINX
We good?
SPHINX (cont'd)
Good work, Alonzo. Kandro will wire
your cut into your account.
ALONZO
You have any idea what I had to do to
get here with that? Tell me this
business between you and me is done.
SPHINX
Yeah. We're straight.
ALONZO
Good. Now, where is my sister?
KANDRO
(to Sphinx)
I love family reunions.
ALONZO
You're not hurt, or anything.
They've... been taking care of you?
KRISTEN
Yes, they have.
ALONZO
Get your stuff. We're going home.
SPHINX
Alonzo, I'm hurt.
SPHINX (cont'd)
I told you straight out that I'm not
a violent woman. I said your sister
would be taken good care of. I even
let her stay in my own suite. I
wouldn't harm her so long as you gave
me what I wanted.
ALONZO
And I gave you what you wanted.
SPHINX
That you did. And I'm very grateful.
KRISTEN
I've had this bag packed for weeks,
hoping you'd come for me. I'm ready
to go.
ALONZO
Sphinx, what is this?
SPHINX
I forgot to mention. I have one last
job for you to do.
ALONZO
No, there is no last job! You said
after this diamond heist, we'd be
done!
SPHINX
No, I said we'd be straight. I never
said anything about being done.
SPHINX (cont'd)
How quickly we forget, your sister
made a decision, and you're paying
for it. You will continue to pay up
until I decide you're paid in full.
35.
SPHINX (cont'd)
When you think about it, I'm doing
you a favor. More jobs equals more
money. You and your sister would
never have to work a day again in
your lives.
ALONZO
And if I refuse?
Sphinx sighs.
ALONZO (cont'd)
Tell him to get that blaster away
from my sister, or I swear I'll blow
your head off!
SPHINX
Alonzo, I think you need to weigh
your options here. You kill me,
Kandro kills your sister, and you die
anyway. For argument's sake, let's
say your quicker on the draw than
Kandro here...
KANDRO
I doubt that.
SPHINX
...and manage to kill us both, right?
I own every alien out there. Do you
honestly think they'd let you just
fly out of here?
SPHINX (cont'd)
Do one more job, and be a big
brother. Or you and your sister can
die right here, and right now.
ALONZO
Can I at least say goodbye to my
sister?
SPHINX
You have one minute.
KRISTEN
Alonzo, I'm so sorry I got you into
this.
ALONZO
It'll be okay, Kristen. I'm gonna get
you out of this. Just give me a
little time. Do you trust me?
KRISTEN
Yeah. Yeah, of course I trust you.
KANDRO
Minute's up.
ALONZO
What's the job?
CLIVE
Shut up, Gallagher. This is working
time, not Karaoke.
DARCY
(softly)
Wanker.
CLIVE
Sorry inmate, you say something?
LEON (O.S.)
Ease off, Clive.
DARCY
Yea, ease off, Clive. You should be
less worried about my voice and more
worried about those ears.
CLIVE
What's wrong with my ears?
DARCY
(chuckling)
They look like a car coming down the
road with both doors open.
CLIVE
BACK TO WORK!
LEON
She ain't lying. I could probably get
good reception with those satellite
dish ears he's got.
Cherry laughs.
CHERRY
Hey, so, are you free tonight? I was
thinking I could maybe skip movie
night and we could...
LEON
I can't. I have to go off-world.
We're bringing in some new fish.
CHERRY
Jeez, I know they ran out of room on
Earth, but if they keep bringing them
here, we'll get maxed out too.
38.
LEON
That's what I'm saying, but it's
whatever.
CHERRY
How long you gonna be gone for?
LEON
Couple days the most.
CHERRY
They can't send somebody else?
LEON
I'm Captain of the Guard. It's gotta
be me. But hey, I'll take you up on
that offer when I get back, okay?
CHERRY
Fine. But you owe me.
VINCENT
Did he say he was going off-world?
DARCY
Yea, the guards leave to bring in new
prisoners every once in a while.
VINCENT
How often is every once in a while?
DARCY
Before you lot showed up, the last
time was a little over a month ago.
CLIVE
How 'bout it, inmates? Walls are not
gonna paint themselves.
VINCENT
How are the kids?
SAMANTHA
Better. Thanks for asking.
(off the prison's
look)
This place is more disgusting than I
thought. I hope they're feeding you
in here.
VINCENT
You don't even wanna see what they
call food in this place.
SAMANTHA
(off Vincent's look)
You look... clean.
VINCENT
You thought I would get beat up in
here pretty fast, huh?
SAMANTHA
I was betting on it, actually.
SAMANTHA (cont'd)
Seriously, Vince. How are you?
VINCENT
I'm fine. For now.
SAMANTHA
And the gravity? The visitation area
is stabilized, but I can't imagine
how it is in there.
VINCENT
I'm managing. Have you been looking
for Alonzo?
SAMANTHA
Jesus Christ, Vince. You need to let
it go. He's long gone.
VINCENT
This man killed my friends. Good
people. I lost the woman I was going
to spend the rest of my life with.
40.
VINCENT (cont'd)
I can't just let it go. When I get
out of here, he's a dead man.
SAMANTHA
You know, this same line of thinking
is what put you in that chair in the
first place.
VINCENT
I've got time. All I need is a team,
a plan, and a little help from you.
SAMANTHA
Vince, I can't get involved with
this... whatever it is you're
thinking about doing. I have a career
and a family to think about, and if I
help you break out of here, it
jeopardizes that.
VINCENT
Nobody even has to know.
VINCENT (cont'd)
Promise me you'll at least think
about it.
SAMANTHA
I'm not saying yes, and I'm not
saying no. I'm saying maybe.
VINCENT
That's good enough for me.
JANINE
How are ya holding up in here,
cousin?
DARCY
I'll let you know when I figure it
out. How is Fiona?
41.
DARCY (cont'd)
Janine...
JANINE
I don't know how to say this.
DARCY
Just spit it out.
JANINE
(exhales)
There was a drug bust at the house...
DARCY
No...
JANINE
Ian and a few of his friends got
hauled off to jail. They took Fiona
into child protective services.
DARCY
What in the hell were you thinking
keeping drugs around her in the first
place?!
JANINE
Ian never stopped selling them when
you went away. We've been so careful,
and we didn't think--
DARCY
That's your problem right there. You
didn't think!
A GUARD approaches.
GUARD
Hey! Control yourself, Gallagher.
Darcy sits back down. The Guard walks away. She runs her
hands through her hair, trying extremely hard to maintain
her composure.
JANINE
Darcy, I'm sorry.
DARCY
Yea, I'm sure you are.
42.
JANINE
I tried to get custody, but they
didn't budge. They won't even tell me
where they placed her.
DARCY
Three is too young to be bounced
around foster care. You shouldn't
have let this happen. I should've
never trusted you with her.
JANINE
Maybe you shouldn't have gotten
caught.
JANINE (cont'd)
A capable mother would've turned over
a new leaf with a child on the way.
This is why I never brought Fiona
here. I don't want her to see her Mom
like this.
DARCY
She's my daughter.
JANINE
And for her sake, I hope she doesn't
end up like her Mother.
GUARD
Alright, Gallagher. Visiting time for
you is over.
DARCY
I was finished anyway.
VINCENT
What are these?
CLIVE
Figure it out.
He walks away.
RAZA (O.S.)
They're flex cards.
RAZA
They give them to you for good
behavior, or for the amount of
service hours you log.
VINCENT
What can I do with them?
RAZA
They're good for special items in
commissary, more recreation time,
among other things.
VINCENT
That doesn't seem like something The
Warden would do.
RAZA
It was The Prison Board's idea.
Warden may be in charge, but he still
answers to them.
Vernon and his gang glaring at him from a table not far from
his. He looks around. The Robot Guard leaves. Nobody is
there to stop him.
The Big Man gets up with his posse and walks over to
Vincent. He SLAPS the metal tray away.
VERNON
Meal time is over, fish.
VERNON (cont'd)
Guards can't protect you now. None of
your fish friends are around. It's
just you and me.
VINCENT
You really don't wanna fight me.
VERNON
Nah, I really, really do.
Vernon's gang move in. Vincent scoops his metal tray off the
floor and WHACKS a couple of them in the face with it.
The whole mess hall falls silent. Everybody looks his way.
Raza turns and stares the two guards down. They're next.
GUARD #1
Holy fuck. Call it in.
GUARD #2
(into radio)
Warden, we got a problem down here!
HARTLEY
I guess that's enough fun for now.
After a few seconds, the noise subsides, and Guards fill the
room, with their batons drawn, left to pick up the pieces.
46.
HARTLEY
You know, I expected this kind of
behavior from Raza. We've done this
dance before. But you, Vincent... you
just got here, and you're already
starting trouble.
VINCENT
I started it?! That big goof swung
first. Why isn't he in here with us?
HARTLEY
You have a lot to learn if you want
to survive on my world. My Father
once told me that fear and respect go
hand-in-hand. I never liked my Father
that much, but I feared him, and I
respected him.
HARTLEY (cont'd)
You will learn to fear me. You will
learn to respect me. Let's consider
this, Mr. Vale, your first lesson in
respect. 24 hours in the punishment
facility.
(to his guards)
Take them away.
VINCENT
24 hours in the punishment facility.
This is bullshit. Why isn't Vernon
going in with us? He started the
whole thing. Probably has it good
with the Warden, or something.
SECURITY GUARD #1
Shut up, inmate!
RAZA
You must have a death wish, starting
a fight like that.
VINCENT
What do you call what you were doing?
SECURITY GUARD #2
Both of you, shut up!
The Guard roughly PUSHES them in. The doors shut and the
train takes off.
Vincent is THROWN into his cell and the laser bars close.
RAZA
You should take it easy. Struggling
only makes it worse.
VINCENT
Yeah, no kidding. This 7g thing is no
joke. How are you so calm?
48.
RAZA
This isn't my first trip here.
VINCENT
Let me see if I can remember your
name. Raza, right? Name's Vincent
Vale. I gotta admit, what you did
back there was pretty cool. The way
you sent that guy flying. And then
when you punch a hole through that
one robot's head.
VINCENT (cont'd)
I had a feeling those metal arms were
more than just for show.
RAZA
One of those robots is easy enough,
but when the numbers game catches up
to you, it's over.
VINCENT
(after a beat)
I feel like I'm gonna pass out.
RAZA
I told you not to strain yourself.
I'm actually surprised you've lasted
this long your first time here.
Beat.
VINCENT
Hypothetically speaking, if I were to
ask you about formulating a plan of
escape, would you go along with it?
RAZA
Hypothetically speaking, I'd think
the gravity made you delirious, and
kindly tell you to fuck off.
VINCENT
Do you even wanna get out of here?
RAZA
Nothing would give me more pleasure
than finding the people responsible
for tearing me apart, sewing me back
up with cybernetic parts, and dumping
me here like garbage when they were
done. They took away my humanity.
VINCENT
So you didn't even do anything?
RAZA
No. They found me on the surface, and
I've been here ever since.
VINCENT
That gives you even more of an
incentive to break out. Or are you
content with throwing in the towel?
VINCENT (cont'd)
All I've heard since I got here is
that it's impossible to escape.
RAZA
You're wasting your time, Vincent.
Remember, I've tried once before.
VINCENT
By yourself. Not with others.
VINCENT (cont'd)
You scratch my back, and I'll scratch
yours. We help each other get out
here, and those people that did this
to you, I'll personally walk you up
to their doorstep. How 'bout it?
RAZA
All this talk of escape. Do you even
have a plan?
VINCENT
I have part of a plan.
50.
RAZA
That's comforting.
VINCENT
We're gonna need some help.
An ARMED GUARD enters the room with Kristen's meal for the
night. But she's not in the room.
The Guard places the meal down on the table and searches the
room. He opens the door to the bathroom...
Kandro enters the suite and finds the dead guard. He quickly
rushes out.
Aliens pour out. Kristen SHOOTS them one after the other
until she's out of ammo.
51.
KRISTEN
Shit.
SPHINX
Okay, be honest, when you played this
out in your head, did you think it
was really going to work?
KRISTEN
Fuck you.
SPHINX
You're angry. I get it. Truly, I
understand. Family is everything. Who
are we without family? The funny
thing is, I'm actually jealous of
you. I never had a good relationship
with my family. My dad ditched me
when I was young. Didn't like my
Mother too much, and had a love-hate
relationship with my sister. I wish I
had someone like Alonzo willing to go
to bat for me like he is for you.
Beat.
SPHINX (cont'd)
But here's where reality sets in. I'm
not the bad guy here. Let's not
forget, you stole from me! You wanted
to fuck with me! You wanted to put on
your big girl pants. You wanted to
swim around in deep end of the pool,
and what? Think that the sharks were
going to leave you alone? You reap
what you sow.
SPHINX (cont'd)
So...
SPHINX (cont'd)
That's for making us chase you.
52.
SPHINX (cont'd)
And that's for killing my men.
SPHINX (cont'd)
(to the aliens)
Take her away!
The Aliens DRAG her away through the snow, leaving a trail
of blood behind them.
Shelves are lined with books. Tables and chairs and even a
few potted plants. Probably the best looking place in here.
HANK
Thanks, fella. My name is Hank. You
see anything in here that catches
your eye?
VINCENT
Not yet. I'll keep on looking.
VINCENT (cont'd)
What's this?
HANK
An old Frank Sinatra record. Greatest
singing voice I've ever heard. I have
some old headphones, and earbuds in
the backroom if you wanna give him a
listen.
VINCENT
Maybe some other time, Hank. Thank
you, though.
53.
HANK
Give a holler if you need anything.
VINCENT
Grath?
GRATH
Hello, Vincent. Back from the
punishment facility already?
VINCENT
Yeah, only 24 hours thankfully. I
never thought 3g could feel so good.
What are you doing in here, you don't
have job duty?
GRATH
I do. I'm Hank's assistant. He lets
me take a break to read every now and
then. You know, before I was
incarcerated, I loved curling up by
the fire with a good book and become
engrossed in story.
VINCENT
What are you reading?
VINCENT (cont'd)
Fine book.
GRATH
Yes indeed. Can't quite seem to put
it down.
VINCENT
Hey, you know where Darcy is?
GRATH
I believe she has laundry duty at the
moment. Why?
VINCENT
(quietly)
We're gonna break outta here.
54.
GRATH
But how?
VINCENT
I'll tell you later.
VINCENT (cont'd)
You look different without a hairnet.
VINCENT (cont'd)
What are you reading?
VINCENT (cont'd)
I know that story. It's about a
prison break, right? Never finished
it though. Lost my copy. You getting
any ideas from that thing, or what?
REMI
If you have something to say that's
more interesting than what's in this
book, tell me. If not, shut the fuck
up and let me read it.
CLIVE
The Warden would like to see you.
REMI
Can it wait? I'm almost done with
this chapter.
CLIVE
No. Now.
55.
HARTLEY
You look good today, Remi.
HARTLEY (cont'd)
I said, you look good today.
REMI
T-thank you.
HARTLEY
Don't make me repeat myself. You know
I hate repeating myself.
Hartley brushes his hand against her arm. Remi stands un-
moving. Silent. Looking at his eyes.
HARTLEY (cont'd)
Remove your clothes.
HARTLEY (cont'd)
(sternly)
Or do I need to ask a second time?
HARTLEY (cont'd)
That's a good girl.
56.
"SEDELE"
Siren puts out her cigarette, walks over and greets him.
SIREN
How've you been, Alonzo?
ALONZO
I've been better, Siren. It's good to
see you.
SIREN
So, what's this I hear about some
bitch giving you shit? Sounded pretty
urgent on the phone.
ALONZO
My sister owes her a lot of money,
and she has her as collateral until I
pay up. She says, she'll decide when
I'm paid up.
SIREN
And if you don't?
ALONZO
She dies. And I die right along with
her.
SIREN
This chick give you another job,
then? Is that why you're here?
ALONZO
Yes, and no.
57.
SIREN
She gave you another job, but you're
not gonna do it.
ALONZO
Not a chance.
SIREN
(catching on)
You're gonna kill her?
ALONZO
Exactly. But I'm gonna need some
hardware first.
SIREN
Let's go to my office.
SIREN
Follow me. I keep all the good shit
in the back.
SIREN
You want something that's quick, the
M9 Predator does a decent job. You
wanna create some havoc, may I
recommend the M15 Pulse Rifle?
ALONZO
What about that one?
SIREN
Grenade Launcher? That's for if you
really want to fuck shit up.
Alonzo takes one of the guns and aims to see how it feels.
SIREN (cont'd)
(off his look)
So, I've been meaning to ask you...
what's the deal with Kristen? What
kind of trouble is she mixed up in?
ALONZO
My sister is a thief. She made a
living stealing shit that didn't
belong to her. Turns out she stole
from the wrong person this time.
SIREN
Sphinx.
ALONZO
Kristen robbed her house and stole a
lot of money. Sphinx started kicking
in doors until she found her. Kristen
paid everything she had, but it still
wasn't enough. That's when I got
roped into the whole thing.
SIREN
That's why you turned on your team...
and killed them?
ALONZO
You probably think I'm a bastard for
doing what I did.
SIREN
I mean, you had no way out. It was a
tough choice to make either way.
Can't say I wouldn't have made the
same decision in your shoes. But you
could've asked your team for help.
ALONZO
They wouldn't understand. Besides,
they've wanted me out for so long.
All they cared about was themselves.
Beat.
ALONZO (cont'd)
How much for everything in that case?
SIREN
If you got the money, it's all yours.
ALONZO
Thank you, Siren. I really appreciate
this.
SIREN
Hey, what are friends for? I hope you
kill those sons of bitches.
ALONZO
I will. Every last one of them.
DARCY
You takin' the piss?
GRATH
Can you please keep your voice down?
DARCY
If you're looking to drown, best find
yourself a shallow pool.
GRATH
I think we should hear what he has to
say. This Vincent... he's been the
first person in here to give us real
hope that we could actually escape.
DARCY
Hope is a scary thing in this place.
And besides, since when have you been
so gung-ho about escaping anyway?
60.
GRATH
I miss the sweet air of freedom,
Darcy. Don't you?
DARCY
Janine visited me the other day.
GRATH
And you didn't tell me? How did it
go? And how's little Fiona?
DARCY
Fiona... she's been taken into Child
Protective Services after a drug bust
at her house.
GRATH
My goodness. Darcy, I'm sorry.
DARCY
I... I don't even know where they've
taken her.
DARCY (cont'd)
I can't do this anymore, Grath. I
need to see my daughter.
GRATH
Then join us. We can escape together.
I promise you'll reunite you with
Fiona. I'll take you there myself.
Grath stands, silent and sullen. Darcy looks him over for a
beat, and breathes a heavy sigh.
RAZA
How confident are you in this plan?
VINCENT
About 12%.
VINCENT (cont'd)
I could've lied.
RAZA
I would've preferred if you did.
VINCENT
Here they come.
DARCY
Okay, Vince, Grath tells me you have
an escape plan.
RAZA
Part of one, anyway.
VINCENT
Okay, the way I see it, the only way
off this rock is by shuttle.
RAZA
The guards change shifts a lot to go
home to their families or friends. We
could steal one of their ships.
DARCY
The guards park their ships
underground. No way we get even
close. Our only shot are the
transport and visitation ships.
GRATH
Which they don't keep docked for very
long, and the schedules constantly
fluctuate.
Beat.
DARCY
That's it? That was your big plan?
VINCENT
Calm down, okay? All we need is
somebody that knows either one of the
schedules, and how much security will
be around them both.
RAZA
How will we get our hands on them?
62.
VINCENT
We won't.
VINCENT (cont'd)
But she will. We use her relationship
with the guard captain and get her to
squeeze the information out of him.
GRATH
But even if we have the schedule, we
still need to get to the docking bay.
For as long as we've been here, we
still don't know the prison layout
too well. We need the blueprints.
VINCENT
We can ask Cherry to get those from
Leon too.
RAZA
We can't ask him to do so much.
People start getting suspicious.
Questions start getting asked. If he
gets caught, the entire plan blows up
in our face, and the whole lot of us
wind up in the detention facility.
DARCY
Hold the phone here. We talk about
this as if it's a foregone
conclusion. How will we even convince
Cherry to ask him that?
DARCY (cont'd)
What is everyone staring at?
Darcy walks up and sits with them, casual as she can be.
DARCY
Howya.
CHERRY
Something you need, Darcy?
63.
DARCY
Mind if I speak with ya, y'know,
alone?
Cherry gives the other female inmates a look. They all get
up and move to another table.
CHERRY
What's up?
DARCY
(softly)
A few of the inmates and I, we're
plannin' an escape.
CHERRY
Oh? And how are you looking to
accomplish that?
DARCY
The layout of the prison would be
mighty helpful. I need you to speak
with Leon--
CHERRY
Stop right there. Consider it done.
DARCY
Really? Just like that?
CHERRY
Leon and I are really falling for
each other, but we can't have a
future if I'm stuck in here. He's
been waiting to sneak me off this
rock, but the timing was never right.
DARCY
I'd say this is the best opportunity.
CHERRY
I'll talk to him.
Darcy looks over to Vincent, and gives him the okay sign.
EISMA
You've been busy, Vince.
TROS
I'd say.
HACKETT
How come you never filled us in on
this little plan of yours?
VINCENT
I'm filling you in now. You guys in,
or what?
EISMA
Like you even have to ask.
RAZA (O.S.)
Even if we do get all that, there's
still the matter of getting to the
hangar.
BACK TO:
RAZA
The guards, and especially not those
robots will let us walk there.
VINCENT
I thought about that. When the time
comes, we'll need a distraction.
VINCENT (cont'd)
And I already have just the idea too.
DARCY
You want to mix it up with him again?
65.
VINCENT
That's the idea. Start a riot, and
shake things up. Where there's chaos,
there is opportunity. That's our
window.
RAZA
Those sirens are almost
instantaneous.
VINCENT
Didn't look that way the last time we
set them off.
RAZA
A minor scrap is one thing. If a full
scale riot breaks out, those alarms
will have us down for the count in
seconds.
VINCENT
Not all of us.
Remi silently walks through the halls. Clothes and hair out
of place. A little jittery. Eyes glued to the floor. That
confident facade she's had has been effectively broken.
VINCENT
Sorry about that.
REMI
Watch where you're...!
REMI (cont'd)
I'm sorry. It's okay.
REMI (cont'd)
Wait.
REMI (cont'd)
Listen, um... I'm sorry about before.
The way I snapped at you in the
library.
VINCENT
Not the worst thing a woman's ever
said to me.
REMI
It's just, this place...
VINCENT
I understand. I haven't been here
long, but I see how it can really get
to someone. How long have you been in
here?
REMI
Five years too long.
VINCENT
What'd you do?
REMI
I really needed some money right
away, so I tried to rob a bank.
Would've gotten away with it if I
didn't trip down the bank steps, and
spilled all the money.
VINCENT
I don't mean to laugh.
REMI
No, it's fine. You're not the first
person who's laughed at that story. I
don't think we've ever been properly
introduced. I'm Remi.
VINCENT
Vincent Vale. Pleasure's all mine.
REMI
Back in the library, I heard what you
said about gettin' out of here.
VINCENT
How'd you--
REMI
I have very good hearing, and your
whispering skills are for shit.
VINCENT
You're right. I'm putting a crew
together.
REMI
You seem very motivated.
VINCENT
A partner of mine sabotaged a job we
were pulling. Killed some people
close to me, and left me for dead.
He's got whatever he has coming.
REMI
How many do you have?
VINCENT
Six.
REMI
If you'll have me, I'll be seven.
VINCENT
Welcome to the team.
HANK
Oh, y'all scared me there. Nearly
gave me a heart attack.
VINCENT
Sorry, Hank.
HANK
I remember you. You're Vincent.
Grath's friend.
(off Remi look)
And Remi's friend, it seems.
REMI
Hey Hank.
VINCENT
That would be me. Mr. Popular.
Listen, Hank, I have a favor to ask
of you.
HANK
Well, sure, what is it?
DARCY
Hey, I thought I heard voices in
here.
DARCY (cont'd)
You guys are in a mop closet? What
are ya doin' in a mop closet?
LEON
What is it, Darcy?
DARCY
You have what I asked for?
69.
LEON
It took some doing getting my hands
on these.
DARCY
Nobody saw ya?
LEON
I don't think so.
DARCY
Wow...
LEON
I marked all important routes and
locations with a red marker. One more
thing, there's a visitation ship
arriving tomorrow.
DARCY
I don't think we'll be set by then.
LEON
I figured, so I looked ahead to the
transport schedule. The next one
arrives two days from now. Sometime
around lunch.
CHERRY
Is that enough time for you and the
others to get their affairs in order?
DARCY
I have to talk it over with Vincent.
I don't know how to thank ya, Leon.
LEON
You can thank me by getting Cherry to
the ship, alright? I'll be waiting.
REMI (O.S.)
Hey.
VINCENT
I thought women weren't allowed in
this part of the prison.
REMI
They keep us in different cell blocks
for a reason, but not everyone
follows that rule.
REMI (cont'd)
Listen, let's talk about this plan of
yours. It's good, but you've been
overlooking one thing. That alarm.
The guards don't control it. It comes
from The Warden's office. He's just
going to turn it back on again.
VINCENT
What's your point, Remi?
REMI
My point is, that alarm is a massive
x-factor. You need somebody in there
to shut it down permanently, or else
we're not gonna get very far.
VINCENT
Are you volunteering?
REMI
Of course. That's why I'm here.
VINCENT
You can get in the Warden's office?
71.
REMI
Easier than I'd like to admit.
VINCENT
And what if he's onto you?
REMI
I stole this from the kitchen.
REMI (cont'd)
The Warden's untimely death is long
overdue. The things he's done... how
certain are you in this escape plan
of yours?
VINCENT
It's not going to be easy, but I like
our chances.
GUARD
Vale, Vincent. You got a visitor.
SAMANTHA
Don't give me that look.
VINCENT
I knew you'd come back.
SAMANTHA
I came back to see if you've changed
your mind about...
(softly)
About escaping.
VINCENT
I haven't. And I should tell you now,
I'm gonna be out of here sooner than
you think. But I need you as my Plan
B in case things go South.
72.
VINCENT (cont'd)
I need you orbiting the planet,
waiting to pick us up.
SAMANTHA
Wait, "Us?" Vincent, you're one
thing, but releasing other criminals
back out into the galaxy?
VINCENT
They're not all bad. I trust these
people.
SAMANTHA
Do you know where you are? It's
prison. You shouldn't trust anybody.
VINCENT
I'm not asking for much.
SAMANTHA
You're asking for a lot, actually.
VINCENT
Sam, I need this. Please.
Remi comes out of the shower and finds Darcy at one of the
sinks, smoking a cigarette. She walks over.
REMI
You smoke?
DARCY
Only when I'm nervous. I wish it were
a pint of Guinness instead. If I were
drunk most of the time, maybe it
wouldn't be so bad in here.
REMI
Tomorrow's the big day.
DARCY
That it is. You have anybody waitin'
for ya on the outside?
73.
REMI
No. The last time I saw my family, I
told them to go fuck themselves, and
left when I was real young.
DARCY
What's your plan when you get outta
here?
REMI
I haven't really thought about it, to
be honest. I guess I'm just gonna run
and see how far I can get. Maybe open
a bar on a beach somewhere.
DARCY
A woman after my own heart.
REMI
What about you?
DARCY
Stay far, far away from drugs. That's
what landed me here in the first
place. I also have a daughter out
there waiting for me. She's three
right now.
REMI
What happened?
DARCY
I was pregnant when I came here. Gave
birth to my daughter a month into my
sentence. Having a baby on this
planet in this gravity was hard
enough. But when I saw her, I was
happier than I'd ever been in my
life. I obviously couldn't keep her
in here, so I had to give her away.
REMI
That must've been hard for you. And
you haven't seen her since?
DARCY
No. And as far I know, she's with a
foster family right now.
REMI
What's her name?
74.
DARCY
Fiona. Fiona Gallagher.
REMI
That's a lovely name.
DARCY
Of course it is. I gave it to her.
DARCY (cont'd)
I've been thinking about how my
daughter has no idea what I look
like. When I finally see her, she'll
be looking at a stranger, and not her
own mother.
REMI
The important thing is that we will
get out of here, and you will see
your daughter again.
DARCY
Why not just tell the whole prison
what we're doin'?
GRATH
Darcy has a point, Vincent. Our
increase in numbers is worrying. It
might attract unwanted attention.
TROS
(to Vincent)
I knew this was a bad idea.
75.
VINCENT
Can you guys relax? As far as
everyone else is concerned, we're a
newly formed prison gang.
DARCY
At least tell me why the three of
them are gettin' involved in this.
HACKETT:
The four of us came in here together.
REMI
So what?
EISMA
So we knew him first, and we want in.
REMI
We're not assembling a team for
dodgeball here. If this plan fails in
any way, the Warden will kill us and
make it look like an accident.
RAZA
Do you see what you've caused?
VINCENT
Okay, listen up, everyone. Whether we
like each other, or not. This is the
team as is. We've come this far.
Allow me to take you a little
further. I just need you to trust me
for one more day.
VINCENT (cont'd)
Darcy, you have the layout memorized?
DARCY
As best as I can.
VINCENT
And what time will the ship be here?
DARCY
Leon told me sometime around lunch.
76.
VINCENT
When that riot goes down, it's going
to be utter chaos, but it's what
happens after that we need to be
prepared for.
RAZA
I'll be ready.
VINCENT
If we follow the plan, we'll all get
out of here, and the Warden won't
know what hit him.
A nice little break room where the GUARDS hang out and
socialize.
Leon lays down his hand, and the others groan in frustration
and fold.
LEON
Gimme all the chips, baby! All the
chips.
CLIVE
This is the longest string of dumb
luck I ever seen.
LEON
I think you meant to say skill.
GUARD
Care to join us for a game, Warden?
HARTLEY
Everybody leave.
The Guards get their things together and make for the exit.
HARTLEY (cont'd)
(to Leon)
Not you.
77.
HARTLEY (cont'd)
Leon, did I ever tell you how I got
to be Warden here?
LEON
Sir?
HARTLEY
It took over a decade to build a
prison on this planet. The amount of
time and money that went into this
place is absurd. The prisons on Earth
were getting overcrowded and they
needed someplace to house the worst
of the worst. Not only that, but they
needed a man to watch over them. They
needed a man who could bend just a
little, but never break. They needed
a man who demanded respect. I was
that man.
HARTLEY (cont'd)
I've seen a lot of people come, and a
I've seen a lot of people go. But the
one constant is that these guards,
and these inmates... they knew never
to cross me.
HARTLEY (cont'd)
You know how I keep things steady
around here? It's fear. Fear and
respect. But I've had my moments of
fairness. I allow certain luxuries
and indulgences from time to time.
You start a relationship with one of
the inmates, and I let it slide
because you're my Captain of the
Guard. You're a good man. And that
Cherry is a peach.
LEON
I'm sorry to interrupt, Warden, but
where exactly is this going?
HARTLEY
I didn't think much of it at first. I
thought, "Okay, he and his lady
wanted a new place to have sex." And
that's fine by me. Until a guard
happened to pass by the room,
listened into your little
conversation, came to me, and tipped
me off to what you're doing.
Beat.
LEON
And what am I doing, Warden?
HARTLEY
Helping inmates escape by gathering
information for them.
HARTLEY (cont'd)
After all I've done for you, you turn
around and bite the hand that feeds
you? Give me one good reason why I
shouldn't have you and your slut
girlfriend thrown in the detention
facility until both of your hearts
give out.
Leon sits back for second, looking the Warden over. Now, he
gets up out of the chair and stands face-to-face with the
Warden, not backing down an inch.
LEON
You want a reason? Here's one: I know
you've been pocketing some of the
money the Prison Board sends you to
fix this place up.
LEON (cont'd)
Guards talk. Sometimes maybe too
much. I don't say a thing because you
spread it around, and I need the
money.
79.
LEON (cont'd)
What do you think they'd do to you if
they took a closer look at that?
Giving you carte blanche over the
prison is one thing. But stealing
money from them? Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. They
wouldn't like that one bit. If you
fire me, or if anything happens to
Cherry, I'm going straight to them.
Leon walks over to the door, not taking his eyes off the
Warden with each step he takes.
Hartley turns the device off, removes the earbud from his
ear, and walks over to Leon. He helps him up and proceeds to
THROW him against the wall.
HARTLEY
Remember this, and take it to the
grave with you...
HARTLEY (cont'd)
... this is my world.
HARTLEY (cont'd)
Smith, get in here!
CLIVE, who's been standing outside the door the entire time,
re-enters the room.
HARTLEY (cont'd)
Thank you for the information.
Consider this your promotion, new
Guard Captain.
Clive gladly takes the money with a big smile on his face.
HARTLEY (cont'd)
Get rid of the body.
CLIVE
What about the other possible
escapees? The transport ship is on
its way tomorrow.
HARTLEY
And?
CLIVE
They'll try to escape.
HARTLEY
And they'll fail.
Cherry ducks back into cover, hoping she hadn't been seen,
and puts her hand over her mouth so she doesn't scream.
HARTLEY
Hello, Cherry. Let's chat.
REMI (O.S.)
Didn't take you for the religious
type.
GRATH
I wasn't until I found myself in
here.
REMI
But didn't you almost break a man's
legs once? I thought violence was no-
no? Turn the other cheek and whatnot.
GRATH
Well... momentary lapses happen from
time to time. Then, I come here.
REMI
(after a beat)
You really believe in this stuff?
GRATH
I think everybody believes in
something. You'd be surprised how
much power there is through prayer.
I've prayed for freedom, and in comes
Vincent. All of a sudden, we're one
day away from attempting an escape
from this place.
GRATH (cont'd)
Have you been crying?
REMI
I was earlier, but not for me. For
the Warden.
82.
GRATH
The Warden?
REMI
I think about what I'm going to do to
him... and it makes me cry. It
fucking terrifies me.
A large transport ship passes our view. Old and gray. The
paint just peeling off in little flakes. It heads for the
prison.
Remi, along with other female inmates, step out and wait
patiently on the yellow line.
CLIVE
Warden wants to see you.
The inmates are moving along, eating lunch, and going about
their day. A bunch of guards patrol. A single Robot Guard
with them.
VINCENT
Have you seen Remi?
DARCY
I haven't seen her since yesterday.
VINCENT
I don't know how long we can wait for
her. We have to do this now, or not
at all.
CLIVE
Go on in. He's waiting for you.
HARTLEY
How are you, Remi?
HARTLEY (cont'd)
Come, have a seat with me. I was just
getting ready to have a drink.
HARTLEY (cont'd)
There's supposed to be a person
behind me.
HARTLEY (cont'd)
You must think I'm an idiot. You
think I don't know what goes on in my
own prison? I have eyes and ears
everywhere. This is my fucking
kingdom!
Beat.
HARTLEY (cont'd)
Now, sit... down!
85.
HARTLEY (cont'd)
Or do I need to ask you a second
time?
VINCENT
We've waited long enough.
VINCENT (cont'd)
Hey Andy.
ANDY
Hello, do you want my peas? I don't
really like them too much.
VINCENT
No thanks. Is it true they call you
Crazy Andy?
ANDY
What...?!
VINCENT
Whoa, I didn't say it, but that big
guy over there...
VINCENT (cont'd)
Said you're absolutely mental.
ANDY
He can't... he can't say that. He-he-
he, doesn't know me. Why... would he
say that?
VINCENT
The real question is what are you
going to do about it?
Andy stares at him, then leaps out of his seat, and makes a
beeline for Vernon and his whole crew.
VERNON
You little shit!
Vernon PIE FACES Andy down to the ground. The guards are
immediately on the scene.
EISMA
What?
VINCENT
A guard?!
EISMA
You said swing on anybody!
VERNON:
I know you had something do with that
you piece of stool.
VINCENT
Take it easy big guy.
The Robot HAMMERS him with its fists. Blood sputters out of
Hackett's mouth. He gets beaten to death.
An alarm BLARES. FOUR MORE ROBOTS race down the hall to the
cafeteria, ready to put an end to the rabble.
Remi can't even look at Cherry's dead body. She keeps her
glare on The Warden, who's looking at the massive riot
happening all over his TV screens.
HARTLEY
I actually feel sorry for you. You
and your friends will die in the
punishment facility one by one. One
month in there sounds satisfactory.
HARTLEY (cont'd)
Right. Time to put an end to it.
ABSOLUTE BEDLAM. Guards are taken down before they can pull
out their weapons.
Right as the other Robots enter, the SONIC WHISTLE turns on.
HARTLEY
Was this your big escape plan? It
looks like it's over before it even
got started.
REMI
Does it?
GUARD
(to robots)
Get him!
Hartley's smug expression has been wiped clear off his face.
His hubris has finally gotten the better of him.
Raza uses the arm and SWINGS it like a baseball bat BASHING
it into the body of the machine!
GUARD
(into comms)
Warden? Anybody?
Hartley throws Remi against the wall, hand over her throat.
HARTLEY
Beg for me.
REMI
Fuck you.
HARTLEY
I was going to kill you first, but I
can see now that's too good for you.
HARTLEY (cont'd)
I've got news for you. What I have in
store, you'll make me wish I killed
you. Such a disappointment. A
creature as beautiful as yourself.
90.
HARTLEY (cont'd)
Hold still. Squirming will only make
it worse.
...THEN...
REMI
Beg for me, Warden.
REMI (cont'd)
Do I need to ask a second time? I
hate repeating myself.
REMI (cont'd)
It's not your world anymore.
EISMA
That was very cathartic.
RAZA
Won't be long before they send
everyone else. We won't get lucky
again.
EISMA
We need some firepower.
DARCY
I know the way to the weapons room.
Leon marked it on the map.
VINCENT
Then let's...
REMI (O.S.)
Vincent! Vincent, come in!
VINCENT
Remi? Where are you?
REMI (O.S.)
The Warden's office. Cherry is dead.
DARCY
If she's dead, then they probably got
to Leon too.
EISMA
Vince, we can't keep standing around.
We're wasting a lot of time here.
DARCY
Go after her, Vincent. We'll meet you
at the Docking Bay. We won't leave
without you. You have my word.
DARCY (cont'd)
And stay safe.
EISMA
Tros, keep watch.
RAZA
Everybody grab something. Quickly.
DARCY
Let's have that.
EISMA
Uh-uh, this one's mine.
DARCY
I had my hand on it first.
EISMA
You have five seconds to get your
hand off--
Raza, fed up with their shit, GRABS the gun for himself, and
gives them both a look.
Beat.
REMI
Vincent...
93.
VINCENT
You're okay?
VINCENT (cont'd)
Come on, everybody else is waiting
for us.
REMI
We should take the back way out.
VINCENT
Okay. I just need to make one last
stop first.
Raza, Tros, Eisma, and Grath make their way down the halls,
each carrying a weapon.
DARCY
Okay... this way.
They turn the corner and there's guards waiting for them,
and they immediately OPEN FIRE.
DARCY (cont'd)
Okay, maybe not that way.
EISMA
Tros! Bastards!
EISMA (cont'd)
Thanks for the save, handsome.
Grath looks and sees two Robots coming. The Guards keep
coming too. How much longer can they keep this up?
GRATH
Our odds are not looking too
favorable at the moment!
RAZA
Everybody move, now! Fall back!
RAZA (cont'd)
Leave him. He's dead.
Eisma props him up against the wall, and leaves with the
others.
Coming around the corner, Darcy and the others run into
Vincent and Remi, weapons pointed. They don't pull the
trigger, instantly recognizing each other.
VINCENT
Scared the shit out of me.
RAZA
Likewise.
VINCENT
Is it just us that's left?
RAZA
Yeah, but we need to keep moving.
They're right behind us.
Clive and the other guards survey the damage in the office
and the dead Warden's body. He can't even look at it.
CLIVE
I want every robot and guard we have
with me. They don't make it out of
here alive. Understood?
95.
EISMA
You have got to be kidding me...
REMI
No. No, no, no, no.
GRATH
Now's not the time to lose our heads.
EISMA
When is the time, then?! Our only way
out has been fucked! Any minute now,
those guards and those robots are
going to come in here, and we're
finished.
VINCENT
I should've seen this coming. I knew
they'd try and screw with our escape.
Darcy, are you absolutely sure we
can't get underground to the guard's
ships?
DARCY
Even if there was a way, we'd never
make it now. The prison is crawling
with guards and robots.
EISMA
I hear them coming.
REMI
What do we do, Vincent?
VINCENT
I have a Plan B, but we need to get
out on the surface.
96.
VINCENT (cont'd)
Raza, you say you've been to the
punishment facility before, right?
RAZA
More times than I would like.
VINCENT
Do you think you'd know the way there
on foot?
CLIVE
Bring it down.
The doors EXPLODE in and fly across the ground. Clive leads
them inside, and looks around for them...
CLIVE
They're running. We've got 'em.
EISMA
How much longer can we keep this up?!
RAZA
We're almost there!
RAZA (cont'd)
Alright, Vincent, we're here. Now
what?
97.
DARCY
Vincent, what's the hold up? We're
sittin' ducks out here.
EISMA
They got us right where they want us.
GRATH
Those wretched machines are gaining,
and fast.
(to Raza)
No offense.
RAZA
None taken.
REMI
They're right, Vince. If they close
in on us, we're through. Whatever
plan you've got, it needs to kick in
right about now.
EISMA
What has gotten into him?
DARCY
I think he's finally gone out of his
head.
REMI
You mind filling us in on the joke,
Vincent?
VINCENT
We're standing right over the
planet's north pole.
DARCY
And?
VINCENT
And now, this baby comes into play.
FLASHBACK TO:
GUARD
I'm afraid I'm gonna need you to
empty your pockets, ma'am.
VINCENT
Sam, I need this. Please.
SAMANTHA
When is it going down?
VINCENT
Tomorrow.
SAMANTHA
I brought something with me.
Something that I won't be leaving
here with.
VINCENT
What is it?
SAMANTHA
Your way out.
SAMANTHA (cont'd)
It's a monopole. I had it rigged for
you just in case your escape goes
tits up and you find yourself on the
run across the planet.
99.
SAMANTHA (cont'd)
When the time comes, and you're
standing right over the planet's
north pole...
VINCENT
Where the Detention Facility is.
SAMANTHA
Exactly. If you can make it there,
I'm sure you'll be smart enough to
figure out how to use it. Only
problem is, it'll be locked up in the
holdings area.
VINCENT
I'll deal with that. What does it
look like?
SAMANTHA
It'll be in the shape of a large,
golden compass.
VINCENT
And where will you be?
SAMANTHA
My ship will be above the planet.
I'll try to fly as low as possible.
The planet has a very powerful
electromagnetic field. My ship isn't
designed to land on this kind of
planet. If I try, I'll get sucked
into its pull and just crash to the
surface.
VINCENT
Thank you, Sam. I owe you.
SAMANTHA
I know.
BACK TO:
100.
VINCENT
(to himself)
Thanks, Sis.
REMI
Vincent, how is a compass going to
help us?
VINCENT
It looks like a compass, but it's
not.
VINCENT (cont'd)
It's a magnetic monopole.
GRATH
Magnetic monopole?
VINCENT
If you were to break a magnet in
half, it doesn't mean one half is
north, and the other is south. Each
piece has its own north and south
poles. But a magnetic monopole
doesn't follow those rules. It only
attracts in one polarity.
DARCY
Meaning?
RAZA
Meaning, the south would attract...
VINCENT
And the north would repel us right
over the magnetic field line.
EISMA
Can we skip the physics lesson and
get to the point before we all die?
Vincent RIPS the pointer off its jewel bearing and holds it
in his hand.
Then, he RIPS one piece of the pole off. The SOUTH half.
VINCENT
When I say, everybody grab onto me.
VINCENT (cont'd)
Now!
The Robots and guards get there, but it's too late. A few
armed guards trail behind them, looking up in defeat.
EISMA
So long, fuckers!
CLIVE
What are you all waiting for? Get a
ship and get after them!
GUARD
We won't be able to get to them in
time. They're gone, sir.
CLIVE
Damn it!
DARCY
Vincent, now what?
VINCENT
Now, that.
She sees Vincent and the others, lying on the ground and
breathing heavily. Exhausted, bruised and banged up, but
victorious.
GRATH
YES!
GRATH (cont'd)
My apologies.
EISMA
We gotta stop meeting like this.
REMI
We did it.
VINCENT
Thank you so much, Sam.
103.
SAMANTHA
It's good to have you back, little
brother.
SAMANTHA (cont'd)
You look like shit run over twice.
VINCENT
It's good to see you too. How'd you
know when to come pick me up?
SAMANTHA
I told you I'd be waiting. And the
magnetic signature of the monopole I
left you came up on radar, so it had
to be you.
VINCENT
That monopole worked like a charm.
SAMANTHA
I paid a lot of money to have it
rigged, so it better have.
SAMANTHA (cont'd)
I see you've made... friends.
VINCENT
Yeah, I'll be glad to introduce you
properly later, but we have some
business to discuss.
SAMANTHA
Oh, what, you need more things?
VINCENT
In a manner of speaking.
SAMANTHA
Before we do anything, we should
probably get you all some new
clothes. Something... less
inconspicuous.
EISMA
I don't mean to interrupt this tender
moment, but I know where we can go
where people won't look twice at us.
104.
EISMA (cont'd)
I swear I'm not bullshitting you.
"KINDRAX"
Sam leads Vincent and his crew of escapees, now out of their
prison garb and in more casual, form fitting wear to--
EISMA
Kindrax Port.
SAMANTHA
What's so special about this place?
EISMA
It's an outlaw world. They don't care
about who you are, where you came
from, or whatever you did. The space
forces wouldn't dare come here. In so
little words, we're safe. And I use
that term extremely loosely. You see
that tower in the distance?
EISMA (cont'd)
A woman named Sloane rules from
there. Everything goes through her.
105.
REMI
You have experience with this place?
EISMA
You could say that.
SAMANTHA
Vincent asked me to look into a few
things on the way here, and I was
surprised how easy it was to find. In
those files -- the location of your
daughter, and the location of those
scientists that experimented on you.
Also included, to Vincent's request,
a little bit of traveling money to
help you both get there.
RAZA
Thank you. I really appreciate this.
SAMANTHA
No problem.
Darcy doesn't say a word. She just hugs her. Samantha looks
to Vincent. He shrugs.
SAMANTHA (cont'd)
You're very welcome.
SAMANTHA (cont'd)
I made an arrangement with a friend.
He should be here in a few minutes
with a ship and some money waiting
for you. Give him this, and my name.
VINCENT
I don't know how I can thank you,
Sam.
SAMANTHA
You can do me a big favor and stay
out of trouble. I can't do this
again, Vince.
106.
VINCENT
You won't have to. I promise.
They HUG.
VINCENT (cont'd)
When I deal with everything and
finally get settled someplace, I'll
have the family over.
SAMANTHA
I'll hold you to that. See you
around, baby brother.
SAMANTHA (cont'd)
Take care of yourselves, guys. It was
nice meeting you all.
RAZA
I guess this is where we part ways.
VINCENT
I guess so.
RAZA
You're quite the man, Vincent Vale. a
good friend. You've earned my utmost
respect. If we ever cross paths
again, anything you need, you can
count on me.
VINCENT
Thank you, man. Take care of
yourself.
Raza nods, turns to walk away, but Eisma stands in his way.
EISMA
Hey, if you need someone to watch
your back, among other things, I
could maybe come with you.
EISMA (cont'd)
(sighs)
He's an oak, that one.
107.
VINCENT
(to Eisma)
What are you gonna do now?
EISMA
I might hang around here for a little
while. I have some people that owe me
a few favors. I'll be alright.
EISMA (cont'd)
(to Darcy)
For the record, it's been miserable
working with you.
DARCY
Likewise.
DARCY (cont'd)
(to Vince)
Vincent, thank you. For everything. I
had no hope until I met you. I owe ya
my life.
VINCENT
You don't owe me anything. I hope you
find your daughter.
VINCENT (cont'd)
(straining)
Oh my God...
DARCY
(to Grath)
Shall we?
GRATH
We shall. It's been a pleasure making
your acquaintance, Vincent.
Darcy and Grath leave. Only Vincent and Remi remain now.
VINCENT
And then there were two.
108.
REMI
I never thought I would ever get out
of that place, but here I am. After
everything I went through, it almost
feels surreal. Like a dream I'm about
to wake up from. I can't believe it.
VINCENT
Trust me, you're not dreaming. It's
definitely real. And as much as I'd
love to stay and soak in the fresh
air with you, I have some unfinished
business with an old friend.
REMI
Alone?
VINCENT
Yeah. Why?
REMI
I... I thought we could help each
other.
REMI (cont'd)
I don't really know where else to go
from here. I don't know anybody in
the area, I don't have family, or any
revenge seeking. Maybe I can help
you, stay with you. We're the only
friends we've got at the moment.
Vincent sits in the Pilot seat looking over The White Lotus
in Araxia. His eyes widen.
REMI (O.S.)
What happened down there?
VINCENT
Let's find a place to set the ship
down.
REMI
What is it?
VINCENT
This used to be my ship.
ALONZO (O.S.)
You found me.
Beat.
110.
VINCENT
I put a transmitter in my ship the
day I got it. It wasn't that hard to
find you.
ALONZO
You always were a smart guy, Vince. I
see you escaped the inescapable
prison.
(meaning Remi)
And you brought a friend.
VINCENT
This is Remi. We helped each other
escape. Us and a few others.
ALONZO
Must've been hard.
VINCENT
You have no idea.
(meaning Kristen)
Who is she?
ALONZO
This is my sister.
VINCENT
You never told me you had a sister.
ALONZO
There's a lot of things about me I
never told you. Not like you gave a
shit. Her name was Kristen. She owed
money to the dead woman you see lying
on the floor there. If I didn't pay
her what she owed, she'd kill her.
ALONZO (cont'd)
I was fed up with it. All of it.
FLASHBACK TO:
KANDRO
What is it?
SPHINX
Do you hear that?
KANDRO
Shit!
They RUN.
The two of them make a MAD DASH for the saloon and take
cover by the barstand.
SPHINX
It's Alonzo!
KANDRO
No shit! That psychopath!
SPHINX
Go after his sister, I'll--
112.
KANDRO
No, you go for his sister...
KANDRO (cont'd)
He's mine.
The Goodbye ship FLIES BACK around for one more go.
A DIRECT HIT on the right half of the ship! Its left wing
flies right off! The GOODBYE is going down. A cloud of black
smoke as the ship makes a CRASH LANDING to the ground.
Kandro nods to some armed aliens. They charge for the ship.
BACK TO:
ALONZO
But I was too late, Vince. When I
finally got in, my sister was already
dead. Bleeding to death. They left
her in here to die. So I killed her.
Vincent and Remi give each other a look. Dead silence after
listening to Alonzo's story.
ALONZO (cont'd)
You came to kill me, right?
113.
VINCENT
You killed my friends. Killed Maggie.
It's only fair.
ALONZO
What was I supposed to do?
VINCENT
Alonzo, all you had to do was ask us
for help. Instead, you turned on us
to save your own ass.
ALONZO
There was nobody closer to me in my
life than my sister. She was the only
family I had left. If given the
choice again and again, I pick her
every single time.
ALONZO (cont'd)
Now, what am I supposed to do?
VINCENT
I don't care. I really the fuck
don't.
ALONZO
Do what you gotta do, Vincent.
Alonzo turns away from Vincent. His glance goes back to his
dead baby sister. He's got nothing left to fight for.
ALONZO (cont'd)
Just kill me.
Beat.
VINCENT
I thought long and hard about what I
was going to say and do to you when I
got out of prison.
114.
VINCENT (cont'd)
All I could think about was tracking
you down and shooting you dead for
what you did.
VINCENT (cont'd)
But if there's one thing I learned in
my very short time there is that I
never want to go back. This is my
second chance to live the rest of my
life and not throw it away over
stupid decisions. You're not worth
it, man.
ALONZO
So, you're not gonna kill me? After
everything you had to do to get here?
To get this moment? That's it? You're
just gonna walk away?
He turns back.
VINCENT
I'm sorry about your sister, Alonzo,
but I have lost people close to me
too. Because of you. You don't get
any sympathy from me. You wanna die
so bad...
VINCENT (cont'd)
Kill yourself. I'm done with you.
Goodbye, Alonzo.
DISSOLVE TO:
-- SERIES OF SHOTS --
EISMA
Jesus Christ, Jaime. You scared me.
The hell is wrong with you, sitting
in the dark?
JAIME
I wanted it to be a dramatic moment.
I heard you were back in town, and
figured you'd come home eventually. I
see you didn't last long in prison.
EISMA
I had some help.
JAIME
The team's waiting on you.
EISMA
Good. Sloane is in my seat. Let's go
knock her ass out of it.
"MEIRITH"
RAZA steps out wearing a hoodie, and pays the CAB DRIVER.
RAZA
Thank you.
He closes it, pulls the hood over his head and crosses the
street, heading right for the apartment.
GRATH
Darcy?
DARCY
Yea?
GRATH
Are you sure you're ready for this?
Beat.
DARCY
Yea. I am.
REMI
I feel like it's been a lifetime
since I've had pancakes.
REMI (cont'd)
You thinking about Alonzo?
VINCENT
No. He's the furthest thing from my
mind right now. Actually, I'm
thinking about the others. You think
they're doing okay?
REMI
I think they're fine. They seem like
capable people.
VINCENT
Hey, let's get outta here.
REMI
Yeah, sure.
REMI
So, where are we going?
VINCENT
Wherever we want. We're free. There
must be something you want, somewhere
you wanna go, right?
118.
REMI
Well, I did mention to Darcy that I
wanted to open a bar on a beach.
VINCENT
I've thought about working in a bar
myself at some point in my life.
REMI
I could use a business partner.
VINCENT
Mixing drinks. Tossing out drunks.
REMI
Patio tables with those umbrellas
over them.
VINCENT
Maybe track down my sister, Darcy and
the others, and invite them to the
grand opening.
REMI
It sounds good, but we don't even
have the money for all that.
VINCENT
I may know of a place where I stashed
a good amount of money away from past
jobs. For a rainy day. What do you
say?
REMI
What the hell are we waiting for?
The Hover Car ZOOMS down the road, driving off into the
sunset. A trail of gas left behind.
FADE OUT
THE END
