To Whom it May Concern,

I had the pleasure of working with Alexis Mendoza during the 2017-18 school year at Merced High
School. Alexis served as a Teacher’s Assistant in the MHS library for two periods each day during the
entire school year. Her duties included clerical tasks such as shelving books, running errands, and
keeping additional library materials organized in various ways. More importantly, Alexis was selected to
work on an important long-term project that involved digitizing historical yearbooks to make them
accessible to the public on our library website. This project was given specifically to Alexis because of
her ability to work independently and efficiently in the digital realm. Always a willing and capable
worker, Alexis learned the skills for this project quickly and kept the project moving along with very little
supervision.

Along with all of these very positive qualities, Alexis possesses a high degree of initiative and personal
integrity that is unusual in someone her age. I have a great deal of respect for her professionalism and
excellence in the way she approaches all aspects of her work. I know I can trust her with any project I
assign and that it will be done thoroughly and well. In my opinion, these qualities set her apart from
many others, and would be important to me as her future employer, college, or scholarship provider.

Alexis is a very deserving young woman with great potential. I enthusiastically recommend her and
would welcome the opportunity to answer any questions you may have about her in the future. Please
contact me at smikkelsen@muhsd.org or 209.325.1048.

Sincerely,

Susan Mikkelsen
