GENERAL INTRUCTIONS FOR THE CANDIDATES

1. Candidates should, in addition to their Admit Card, bring

a) three copies of their latest colored photo (3cm x 3.5 cm)


b) at least one photo identity proof in ORIGINAL with clear photograph (e.g. AADHAR
Card, Driving License, University /College ID, Voter ID Card, PAN Card, etc).

If a candidate fails to bring the above documents, he/she would not be admitted in the
examination venue and his/her candidature could be cancelled.

2. Prohibited items, such as watches, books, pens, paper chits, magazines, electronic
gadgets (mobile phones, bluetooth devices, head phones, pen/buttonhole cameras,
scanner, calculator, storage devices etc) are STRICTLY NOT ALLOWED in the
examination lab. If any such item is found in the possession of a candidate in the
examination lab, his/her candidature is liable to be cancelled and legal/criminal
proceedings could be initiated against him/her. He/she would also liable to be
debarred from appearing in future examinations of the Commission for a period of
3 years.

CANDIDATES ARE STRICTLY ADVISED TO DESIST FROM BRINGING BAGS AND PROHIBITED ITEMS
INTO THE EXAMINATION VENUE.

3. It is reiterated that Candidates should not bring Bags and prohibited items as mentioned above to
the examination venue. In case they bring any such item, they would have to make their own
arrangements for safe custody of such items. The Commission shall not make any arrangement nor
be responsible for the safe custody of any such item.

4. Pen/pencil and paper for rough work would be provided in the examination lab.

5. Electronic watch (timer) will be available on the computer screen allotted to candidates.

6. All Exam Labs are under Video Surveillance.

7. The candidates should ensure that they do not indulge in any unfair means and shall also not talk to
each other after commencement of the exam and during its entire duration.

8. CANDIDATES MUST ENSURE THAT THEY DO NOT APPEAR IN COMBINED HIGHER SECONDARY
LEVEL (10+2) EXAMINATION, 2017 (TIER-I) MORE THAN ONCE. OTHERWISE CANDIDATURE OF
SUCH CANDIDATES WOULD BE CANCELLED AND THEY WOULD BE DEBARRED FROM FUTURE
EXAMINATIONS OF THE COMMISSION FOR A PERIOD OF THREE YEARS.

9. Candidature of candidates is purely provisional. It is advised that candidates should satisfy


themselves that they fulfill all the eligibility conditions. If at any stage it is found that a candidate
does not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions, his/her candidature shall be cancelled.

10. Candidates shall be permitted to appear in the exam only at the venue as specified in the
Admission Certificate.
11. The entry of the Candidates inside the venue will ONLY be allowed:

i) between 8.30 AM - 9.30 AM for the first session


ii) between 12.00 PM – 1.00 PM for the second session and
iii) between 3.00 PM – 4.00 PM for the third session.

Note- Entry gates would be closed at 09.30 AM for the first session, 1.00 PM for second session and
4.00 PM for third session. No candidate would be allowed to enter the examination premises
thereafter.

12. Candidates shall have to undergo the process of FRISKING and ensure that their BIOMETRIC
REGISTRATION (LTI-Left Thumb Impression) is completed for appearing in the examination. Once
the Biometric Registration is completed the candidate shall not be allowed to leave the
examination venue till the completion of the examination.

13. CANDIDATES MUST STRICTLY ABIDE BY THE INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN BY THE EXAM FUNCTIONARIES
(CENTRE SUPERVISOR / INVIGILATOR,ETC).

14. The candidates should ensure that they provide clear Left Thumb Impression (LTI), Certification
Statement in their running handwriting and signature on Commission’s copy of Admission
Certificate.

15. No candidate is allowed to leave the examination lab before the completion of the examination time
for any reason without permission from the exam functionaries. Once a candidate leaves the lab
without the permission of the exam functionaries, he/she shall not be allowed to re-enter the
examination lab and his/her candidature shall be cancelled.

16. If any candidate is found obstructing the conduct of the examination or creating disturbances at the
examination venue, his/her candidature shall be summarily cancelled. Such candidate shall also be
liable to be debarred from future examinations of the Commission and legal/criminal proceedings
could be initiated against him/her. It may be noted that no re-examination would be conducted if it
is found that the examination was disrupted on account of instigation by the candidates.

17. If the examination does not commence at the scheduled time or is interrupted midway due to any
technical snag or for any other reason, candidates should follow the instructions of the exam
functionaries. They may have to wait patiently till the issue is suitably addressed and resolved. The
Commission would take an appropriate action and consider a decision on the matter which would
be final and would be binding on candidates in case the exam could not be completed.

18. Candidates are assured that in case of any disruption of examination for any reason such as any
major/minor technical snag or slow speed of server/breakdown of server etc., they will not, under
any circumstances, lose the examination time to which they are entitled.

19. Candidates are advised to report to the concerned Regional office/ Commission, in case they notice
any irregularity during conduct of examination. The identity of such candidates will be kept
confidential.
20. In case of any doubt or any clarification, the candidates are advised to contact the concerned Regional
Offices of the Commission personally or through the helpline numbers / e-mail as indicated at top of
page1 of the Admission Certificate.

Instructions

“Welcome to the COMBINED HIGHER SECONDARY LEVEL (10+2) EXAMINATION, 2017 (TIER-I) ”

This Exam is for a duration of 60 minutes:

Batch 1 : Exam Timing : 10:00 AM to 11.00 AM ; Reporting Time : 08.30 AM ; Entry Closing Time : 9.30 AM

Batch 2: Exam Timing : 1.30 PM to 2.30 PM ; Reporting Time : 12.00 PM ; Entry Closing Time : 1.00 PM

Batch 3: Exam Timing : 4.30 PM to 5.30 PM ; Reporting Time : 3.00 PM ; Entry Closing Time : 4.00 PM

No one will be allowed even one minute late than the entry closing time mentioned on your Admit Card.

Total Number of Questions for the Exam is : 100 Total Marks for the Exam is: 200

Negative Marking for every wrong answer : 0.50

(For VH/CP candidates on 11.03.2018 and 25.03.2018 Duration of exam is 80 Minutes. Exam Timing for
Batch 1 is 10.00 AM to 11.20 am and for Batch 3 is 4.30 PM to 5.50 PM)

General Instructions:
1. Please ensure that you are not in possession of any prohibited items and you must ensure that you
only have your Admit Card and ID proof (in original) with you.
2. On the Computer Screen available in front of you, you are required to type your Roll Number &
PASSWORD as indicated on your Admit Card.
3. Please read the Instructions carefully, then click on “I HAVE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS”.
4. You will be required to go through a SAMPLE TEST before you access the Main Exam.
5. You are requested to avoid touching the wires and cables as it could lead to the computer shutting
down.
6. In case you face any technical issue while logging into the examination or during the examination,
please contact the Invigilator immediately to address the issue.
7. In the event of any technical issue faced during the exam, Candidates are requested to be seated
inside the lab for further instructions by the examination conducting authority. Any candidate
walking out of the lab before the completion of the exam time i.e. the stipulated 60 minutes,
without the permission of examination functionaries such candidates under any circumstances will
not be permitted to re-enter the examination lab and it may also be noted that his/her candidature
will be cancelled.
8. Please make sure you sign in the space provided against your details in the Attendance Sheet.
Signing on the Attendance Sheet is mandatory and without signing the attendance sheet your
candidature will be NULL and VOID.
9. You have to fill and sign the Admission Certificate (Commission’s Copy), and affix your LEFT HAND
THUMB IMPRESSION at the given space. On the reverse side of the Admission Certificate
(Commission’s Copy), please write the Certification Statement in your running handwriting and affix
your signature.
10. The Admission Certificate (Commission’s Copy) should be handed over to the Invigilator.
11. All Exam Labs are under Video Surveillance and all activities of candidates are being closely
monitored. You are therefore strictly cautioned not to indulge in any unfair means. Such activities
would lead to cancellation of your candidature for this exam and you may also be debarred from
future exams conducted by the Commission.

About Question Paper:

1) The Question Paper consists of multiple choice objective type questions with 4 options out of which
only 1 is correct.

2) The computer based exam will be in bilingual i.e. English & Hindi Languages (except English paper
section). Questions and Answer options will appear in both the languages.

3) There is a TIMER (Clock) available on the TOP RIGHT HAND CORNER of the Screen; you are
requested to keep an eye on the TIMER (Clock) for knowing the time remaining for the completion of
the exam.
4) 0.50 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

5) Only one question will be displayed on the computer screen at a time. To attempt next question the
candidates should click on or to go back click on button provided at
the bottom of the screen.

6) The questions can be answered in any order within the given time frame. The candidate should click
with the mouse on the correct choice, from 4 options given. In case, the candidate does not wish to
attempt a question, it can be left blank.

7) The candidate can change the option of a question later by selecting a new option in case he/she
wishes to. In case candidate does not want to answer the question, he/she can deselect the answer by
clicking provided against the question.

8) To move back and forth between questions, candidates should use the OR
button or click on the question number on the right hand side of the computer
screen where question numbers would be displayed along with the `attempted` and `not attempted`
status

9) The answers will be saved and marked green in right side question palette whenever the
candidate goes for next question, by clicking on OR button.

10) Candidates have the option to bookmark a question in case they want to review it at a later stage
by clicking on the button available at the bottom of the screen. The Bookmark on a particular
question can be removed by clicking on

11) The question palette at the right of the screen shows the following status of each of the questions

PS: Questions which are attempted and marked for review would be treated as attempted questions
only as long as the candidate does not the option selected.

12) On the completion of the test duration, even if the candidate does not click on an answer or does
not click on the button, a NIL result will be saved automatically by the computer.
13) The candidate will not be able to submit the test before completion of the stipulated 60 minutes.
The system will automatically submit the test on the completion of stipulated time i.e. 60 minutes.
