Misty L. Bishop is a paralegal who is also a poet, and a published author who resides in Houston, Texas.

She is the wife of a local visual artist, Mack L Bishop III and together they have three sons: Mack L.
Bishop IV (Onyi), Malik Lali Bishop, and Mansur Lemuel Bishop. She is also the daughter of Pastor Mary
Lois Shotlow and Clarence, and Herbert Lee Edwards and sister of Clarence Shotlow Jr, Cameron
Shotlow, Michelle Shotlow, Monica Augustus, Kevin Young, LaTresia Bookman, Hershanber Bookman,
and Beatrice Johnson. Misty is also a native of Grimes County, Texas and an alumna of Anderson-Shiro
Jr-Sr. High School, and Texas Southern University. Misty has a Bachelor of Science degree in
Administration of Justice and minor in Speech Communication. She also has a paralegal/legal assistant
certificate from Southwestern Professional Institute and her Masters in Public Administration at her
alma mater, Texas Southern University. Misty also plans to pursue a law degree to specialize in
transactional, taxation, mergers & acquisitions law as well as sports & entertainment, and labor &
employment law in the near future. In addition to her educational background and goals, Misty has
worked as a contractor for over 10 years for Fortune 100 and 500 companies within the Houston area
such as Jackson Lewis PC, BP, Gexa Energy, Suez Energy, Shell Oil, SWN Energy, Berg & Androphy,
Occidental Petroleum, Devon Energy, Thurgood Marshall School of Law, and Vantage Drilling in regards
of labor & employment, taxation, MDL cases, divesture, land acquisitions, master service agreements or
audits. She even was an Academic intern in her senior year as an undergrad at the Harris County District
Attorney Office in the Fall of 2000. On her spare time, she is an author who enjoys delivering
inspirational messages through her literary works to uplift others and to restore their faith within
themselves and the powerful being, and she’s an active Board Member/ Vice President of Student Affair
& Marketing for a non profit youth organization, Swag Achievement Organization (formerly known as
Students with Academic Greatness). She also enjoys spending time with her family, singing and engaging
in activities that are family oriented and spiritual enlightening.
