ENGW3307 Project 1 Reflection February 6, 2018
Today, you'll think back over the work you did in Project 1 in the context of one peers final draft, your intial
draft, and your final draft. The assignment asked you think a bit differently about your field and about your
place in your field — about the way you are being educated and not just what you are learning, I'm going to
set you up with a bunch of questions — clearly you cannot answer them all in the time we have (and they
may not all apply to everyone). So, you will need to pick and choose.
First, go to our Blackboard forum for Project 1. Read the final draft from the person immediately after you
in the forum... and then read your own latest draft. If you are last on the list, read the draft from person at
the top of the list. Ifa final draft is not posted, go down the list to the next person that has posted a final (or
second) draft.
Now those questions: What do you see in your final draft and your peers final draft that is working well?
What is engaging? How did this assignment work with your writing process? How did it challenge that
process? How well were you able to move past some of the training you've had in more standardized essay
forms? What would you improve if you could? What moment in the essay are you most proud of? How well
were you able to use formatting to support the message of your essay? What was different for you? Have you
been asked to think about your educational path and teaching methodologies this way? In what context?
What did you learn or notice about your field? What challenged you in this assignment? .
NOTE: Stay mostly focused on your draft. Use your peer's draft for context or comparison as needed.
Before you begin writing, be sure to take a few moments to think about how to structure your answer. While
you don't need a formal intro or conclusion, the reflection should give the impression that you have a plan.
Please do write on this piece of paper. ;
Your audience for this piece is a little unusual: it's me (now) and a future you (the one that will exist in April).
We are concerned with *you" — it is OK to be direct and candid ~ possibly even a little informal, if that suits
you.
