1. How does being in captivity affect an animals health?

2. My purpose for this topic is to advocate for animals. I have seen animals in the zoo as

well as SeaWorld. I have also seen animals in their natural habitat. It is sad to see how the

animal’s natural behavior is affected by being cooped up in an exhibit. I want to know

which parts of an animal’s health is affected by being held captive and what it does to

them as a whole. I hope this inquiry will help me raise awareness for the rights of

animals.

3. A few summers ago, I went kayaking in a state park in West Palm Beach. The wildlife

was amazing. Seeing how calm everything was compared to industrialized areas made

me realize how negatively humans can impact nature. The animals in the park we wild

and seemed healthier than those in zoos. In every direction I looked there was a new

species of animal I had never seen. The park ranger also informed me as certain tides

come in, manatees can be seen swimming in the channel. I was fascinated that there was

a possibility of seeing wild manatees since they are usually rare.
