How to start a Venture fund?
 First of all to start a venture fund, once has to form a team of General Partners having wide industrial
breath and functional depth, Industry Network and expertise in Deal Sourcing and Due Diligence.
 To set up fundamentals of business, mission, vision, scope of investment, management fees, hurdle rates
and corporate structure
 To set up the fund size and its scope of investment
 To Develop general partnership structure
 To agree on compensation and reward systems
 To establish basic operating policies and procedures
 To establish minimum criteria before investing in any startup
 To prepare presentation to attract investors
 To find limited partners to invest
 To find institutional investors to invest their fund
 To develop effective “Pitch” and communication strategies to attract angel investors
 To establish screening and minimum entry requirements
 To allocate roles and responsibilities to general partners
 To develop procedures to monitor current investments
 To develop distribution policies after exiting

When to start a Venture Fund?


 When you find a unserved market (in case Orchard)
 Uptrend in Startups
 Company valuations are low
 Funds are easily available in market
 Deals are easily available
