Lynn was born on the 28th of February 1954, His musical studies began with violin atthe age of 5, ‘commenced with his membership of the Royal School of Church Music as a singer, age 7, and at 10 years of age he began to play the trombone. He was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain from 1969 10 1971, where he played bass trombone, and in 1972 entered the Guildhall School of Music and Drama to study with Denis Wick and Peter Gane. From 1975 t0 1980 Lynn was the Bass Trombonist of the Scottish Opera Orchestra, and in 1980 moved to London where he frequently performs with the London Philharmonia, Kent Opera, and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. Brian E, Lynn has been a member of the Taverners Trombones since 1979, The entire Taverners Trombones series is available through the Tezak Verlag. His compositional styles range from conventional (main- stream) to light jazz. His works are noted for their rich harmonies, dazzling rhythmic juxtapositions, and acrobat- like unisono passages, which appear and dissolve quite suddenly: His works are extremely entertaining for trombonist, in the studio and on stage.
