CLIMATE CHANGE RESOLUTION
The General Assembly,
Noting with concern that climate change is the biggest global issue of this era and could
cause rising sea levels and flooding, abnormal weather patterns and global warming, In
the past century, the sea level has risen about 8 inches,
Recognizing that the arctic ice is melting due to climate change t hrough human activity,
including the release of man made greenhouse gases into the atmosphere ,
Aware that the Paris Accord was agreed upon by 194 countries to help slow climate
change with a main goal of keeping the global temperature rise, this century, well below
2 degrees Celsius above preindustrial levels,
Deeply concerned about the demolishing of entire forests and jungles to find palm oil
and burn fossil fuels and the polluting of our earth, specifically the ocean,
Bearing in mind that if the use of greenhouse gases (GHG) continues to grow.
“Summertime temperatures in the United States that ranked among the hottest 5% in
19501979 will occur at least 70% of the time by 20352064,” as stated by the EPA,
1. Encouraging all countries to agree to the Paris Accord:
a. Accepts6 to keep the goal of keeping a global temperature rise this century well
below 2 degrees Celsius;
b. Agrees to support through a more robust transparency framework;
2. Urges all countries to reduce the use of Greenhouse Gases:
a. Accepts to find alternatives to commonly used greenhouse gases.
