I feel that some of the disadvantages with having parent teacher partnership are the

misunderstand of curriculum and home life. And the way teachers run the class they

expect the children to take that home and parents don’t know so they don’t follow.

Mainly they have different ideals, might not agree with home the teacher is

conducting the class room etc. on the other hand the advantages of parent/teac her

partnerships are that what both are on the same page when it comes to educating the

child.its been said that if families are involved in the child’s school life they get

better grades they do better because they get help at home parents are able to guide

their children through the system the children have a positive attitude towards

school and will attend regularly to classes. I feel that the main action for laying

down a good foundation to have that successful partnership is communication,

having that open dialogue between parent and teacher. Making sure that they know

they have a voice in their child’s education. Having meetings with parents to

discuss what things can be done to further their child’s education. Also both parents

and teachers need to have an open mind so they can give ideas and take them.

Teacher need to feel that parents are like their co-teachers. Some Barriers would be

language, socio economic status on the families part. And the best way to handle

this is to reassure the family that you are just there to help the child. And as teacher

you can give them different ideas in how they can help. Whether its creating

activities with for them or implanting the parents ideas in the classroom.
