To Whom It May Concern:
I am pleased to write a letter of recommendation for Alexandra Wagner. Through
University of Michigan’s ELMAC program, Alexandra has been a student teacher in my
Kindergarten class at Mitchell Elementary School for the 20172018 school year.
Throughout Alexandra’s time working in our class, I have been impressed by her
diligence, pedagogical knowledge and her ability to ensure an equitable, caring education
for all students. It is not often that you meet an educator who has the ability to meet
student’s academic, social and emotional needsthroughout this school year, it has
become evident that this is one of Alexandra’s strengths.
Alexandra has high expectations for all students and is skilled at creating and executing
lessons that are studentcentered, engaging and standards based. Throughout this year
Alexandra has had many successes that have positively impacted our class community.
She:
Created a “passport” for students to take ownership over and monitor their
learning during math centers
Effectively communicated with parents
Utilized assessment data, best practices and student interest to maximize student’s
reading and comprehension growth (the students in Alexandra’s groups all
advanced 45 levels)
Used a variety of classroom management techniques
Alexandra is also skilled at collaborating with classroom and specials teachers. She is
open to feedback and is always seeking ways to make herself and our class environment
better.
Thank you for the opportunity to share my experiences working with Alexandra. If you
are seeking a congenial, professional, collaborative educator with a depth and breadth of
pedagogical knowledge, Alexandra is your ideal candidate. Please do not hesitate to
contact me if you have further questions and/or need additional information.
Sincerely,
Du’Charm Archer
