Reflective Writing

This project gave me a perspective that math can apply to everyday rationality. The

advertising scenario proved to be interesting and surprised me with the results we were able

uncover. The linear equality expressions used in algebraic formulas can assist companies to

better determine the usage of their resources and make more effective decisions. Our family

owns a business where we must set a budget for our incoming revenue and outgoing expenses.

This includes projections of future projects and how they will assist our company to perform in

the upcoming months. We need to make certain that the company’s expenses allow for

funding of a petty cash savings for unexpected expenses that may occur. Making comparisons

by using algebraic formulas is the most effective way to determine how to spend the revenue,

and not only makes sense but keeps the business functional and profitable.
