LS Renee SOLA) WUNEz0o07 esas EPC PARTNER Schlumberger wins award at OTC for OptiDrill service Fresh perspectives on drilling: Systematically managing pressure and predicting drilling hazards perators and drillers can now take advantage of two new perspectives on drilling that have been recently showcased as Spotlight on New Technology award win ners ~an all-encompassing, all-OEM managed pressure drilling (MPD) integrated solution, and the OptiDrill real-time drilling intelligence service. ‘Due to the new reservoir-to-flare-stack MPD offering, opera- tors and contractors planning to conduct an MPD operation no longer need tovely on coordination of multiple entities through: ‘out the phases of instalation, commissioning, and execution. The Schlumberger integrated MPD solution includes design, engi- neering, manufacturing, system integration, well engineering, and onsite well delivery services from one supplier. Operators and drillers are also benefitting from real-time advice, available through the recently introduced OptiDill real- time drilling intelligence service that helps mitigate risk and increase efficiency during drilling. The drilling intelligence ser- vice is offering early detection of rate of penetration limiters and drilling hazards, and drillers receive immediate guidance on how to mitigate severe downhole dynamics so that the bottom hole assembly (BHA) is protected and the bit run is extended, Game-changing MPD optimisation ‘The integrated MPD offering provides optimisation of drill- ing and production operations. The MPD control system can be precisely sealed to customer needs or specifie well demands, cording to the level of well complexity. I also festures enhanced kick detection, to automatically respond with the required choke ‘control solution to reduce environmental impact. Operators can, eliminate extra runs and improve well productivity as a result of ‘reduced formation damage. The system significantly reduces non- AV=VA raids ‘productive time resulting from mud losses, and ‘he potential for stuck pipe events during drilling and tripping operations. Other benefits include lower total cosrf ownership, and a single point of contact with accountability forall aspects of the system throughout the MPD operation, Real-time expert driling advice ‘The OptiDrill real-time drilling intelligence service mitigates drilling risk through the com- bination of downhole automated algorithms. The algorithms enable continuous identification of hazardous drilling dynamics events, and provide the operator with information as well as real-time guidelines for immediate action, while drilling. UNE ZT ‘TOP 30 EPC CONTRACTORS TARGET [ENGINEERING Jarget Engineering has opera tions in the UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Its part of the Arabtec Holding, the largest UAE-based construction group. The company claims to be working on electrical and marine projects for re- sional NOCs, withthe combined value of the contracts amounting to about $lbn. Target is working for a number of electrical projects for Saudi Ara- :mco, including replacing the sales gas compressor motor at UGP and SGP, worth $18.9imn; replacing the 4.16kv ‘motor control gear at Shedgum and Uthmaniyah, worth $16.79mn; and upgrading the gas compression plant for power distribution at Tanajib, worth $10.81mn. As for marine con- tracts for the oil and gas sector, Target Engineering is workingon the Ruwais LNG “Terminal Project, Project No. 15308, for ADNOC subsidiary GASCO and Excelerate LNG Development, worth $2999mn. ‘MAIRE TECNI talian engineering and contract- ing firm Maire Teenimont pro- vides a range of engineering and construction services for the oil land gas, chemical and petrochemi- cal, eneray, infrastructure and civil engineesing sectors.
