You are going to see images of five cities and their landmarks. Write a
paragraph describing each city and country it belongs and the landmark shown.
Use the vocabulary from the box for the descriptions. The first one is done for
you as an example. / A continuación verá imágenes de cinco ciudades y sus
lugares representativos. Escriba un párrafo describiendo cada ciudad, el país al
que pertenece y el lugar mostrado. Use el vocabulario dentro del recuadro para
las descripciones. La primera ha sido hecha como ejemplo.

New York is a big city in the

United States (North
America). It takes thousand of
visitors every year. The city
has a population of around 8
million people. There is a lot
to see and do in New York.
You can visit the Central Park,
the Metropolian museum and
Time’s Square. In the picture
you can see the Statue of
Liberty, a monumet built
between 1875 and 1986. It is
93 meters tall. The statue is

Edinburgh (Scotland) – Edinburgh Castle
Rome is the capital of italy. The
city has population of around 4.6
million people. In italy you can
find the grand canal of venice
where you can ride boats and
canoes. In the picture, you can
see saint peter´s square, a plaza
in front of the cathedral. Roma
has a lot of traditional buildings.
in the center of the square is an
egyptian obelisk.
Sydney is the most populous city
in Australia. It is located on east
coast contry.
In the picture you can see the
sindey opera house.
It is one of the most famous and
distinctive buildings of the
twentieth century. Declared a
World Heritage Site in 2007,
designed by the Danish architect
Jørn Utzon in 1957 and
inaugurated on October 20,
1973, with the presence of
Queen Elizabeth II in her role as
Queen of Australia.
Edinburgh is the capital city of
scotland, and it´s the second
most populous city in scotland.
It has been used for military
purposes since the twelfth
century, being used for civil
purposes only in very recent
times. It is located at the top of
Castlehill Street, one of the four
streets that form the Royal Mile.
The castle is open to visitors and
is managed by the specialized
agency Historic Scotland. It is
the most visited tourist attraction
in Scotland.
 Dubai is the most populous city
in United Arab Emirates. The city
has a lot of modern buildings.
dubai is located in the arabian
dessert. In the picture you can
see the burj khalifa a.k.a Khalifa
Tower. It is the tallest skyscreper
around the world. Outside was
designed a fountain system. Burj
khalifa was desgined by adrian
smith and the building has
receiverd many awards.
