April 2, 2018 ‘To Whom It May Concern: Casey Biddle has been in my fourth grade classroom this school year during her professional semester and during her first placement of her student teaching semester. My classroom consists of 29 students. ‘Miss Biddle had the responsibility of teaching all subjects in my classroom for several weeks towards the end of her placement. She also helped with many tasks required of a classroom teacher, such as attendance, lesson planning, curriculum development, classroom management and the organization of the physical space in the classroom. tn regards to curriculum development, Miss Biddle brought a fresh perspective during the planning of my instruction for the 2017-2018 school year. We worked well together in this development process. We would share ideas, plan the lessons, and then implement the lessons. Regardless of who taught, we would reflect on how the lesson went and then we would make adjustments when necessary. .ssroom extremely well. She realized the importance of classroom routines and smooth transitions within the classroom. Her expectations for the students were clearly defined and they were never confused as to what they were to be doing. This kept the classroom running smoothly. When challenging issues occurred, Miss Biddle would seek advice from me and would then effectively follow through Miss Biddle also managed the clas as we discussed, {As for the organization of the physical space of the classroom, Miss Biddle took great care in arranging the classroom to best meet her needs for her instructional purposes. For example, when centers and small group work played a big role in her math lessons, she arranged the room so that students could work together easily. ‘She took consideration to student personalities and work habits when placing certain students next to each other. Miss Biddle was extremely successful in her teaching during her placements in my classroom. She has the ability to thoughtfully self-reflect on her teaching. As a result of her ability to effortlessly self-reflect, it was very easy to discuss the progression of her teaching. She was always open to suggestions and would use what she learned to improve in her teaching. | always felt very comfortable when Miss Biddle was instructing my class. She was always well prepared in her lessons. She had an amazing rapport with the students and they respected her. At many times I felt as if Miss Biddle and | were co-teaching. | feel this is the greatest compliment | can give to Miss Biddle. We worked very well together and we were able to seamlessly work together in each and every lesson. Miss Biddle was always mature and responsible.
