ABSTRACT

The research was conducted at Hatchery and Technology Laboratory,

Aquaculture, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Malikussaleh. Started from 15
September to 13 October 2017. The purpose of this research was to determined
the effectiveness of 10-volt electrical exposure to the growth of catfish seed
(Pangasius pangasius) in media salinity. The method used in this research was
carried out experimentally by using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) non
factorial. The treatments used were 4 treatments and 3 replications, A: control, B:
3 ppt, C: 6 ppt D: 9 ppt. The results showed that the effectiveness of 10 volt
electrical exposure in different media salinity gave a significant effect on the
length growth, weight growth, and survival. Treatment B: 3 ppt was the best
treatment which resulted in average weight growth of 0.1,26 gram/month, average
growth length 1,47 cm/month, and survival 100%. Water quality during the
research showed that it was still in good range and tolerable by catfish seed
(Pangasius pangasius), water quality range during maintenance was temperature
27-280C, pH 6.9 and salinity 3-9 mg/L.
