What is an ePortfolio?
It is now a requirement in ALL General Education courses for students to create an ePortfolio
that contains their significant assignments and reflections about those assignments. These
portfolios can be helpful in applying for jobs or to a university, or in showing family and friends
what you’ve accomplished. Faculty are also going to want to see your ePortfolio before they
write a letter of recommendation for you. When you finish your time at SLCC, your ePortfolio
will then be a multi-media showcase of your educational experience. If this is your first

What do I submit for COMM 1010?
You should have a tab labeled “General Education” in your ePortfolio. Your ePortfolio should be
created using SLCC's Digication. If you have already created an ePortfolio outside of Digication,
please consult with your instructor. Create a separate page for COMM 1010 under this tab and
include two parts:

 Write a self-reflection (Links to an external site.) (Links to an external site.)Links to an

external site.:
o Write a sincere paragraph or two describing how you can apply what you've learned in
this class to other classes, to the workplace, and/or to other areas of your life.
 Post a copy of either your public speaking or team project assignment.
o Include the instructions given by your teacher for the assignment on the ePortfolio.
o If you choose the public speaking assignment include your outline/bibliography,
PowerPoint, and video of the speech.
o If you choose the team project, submit the final paper with appendices.
 You can insert a hyperlink, or you can copy and paste the document. This can be one of the
papers you've submitted in this class, a discussion forum essay, or the PowerPoint, outline, or
video of your final speech.
