Purpose Statement

The purpose of this portfolio is to showcase my growth, development and future intentions as an
aspiring administrator as influenced by the experience of the University of The West Indies in –
training Diploma in Education Programme. It contains items accumulated during the programme
that occurred from August 2017 to April 2018.

The portfolio is both descriptive and reflective and allows for a review of the competencies I
have gained in lesson plan evaluation, clinical supervision evaluation, technology integration and
designing and implementing various assessment approaches. It also showcases my journey in
curriculum integration and the process of becoming an agent of change at my school.

It is my fervent wish that this portfolio acts as a documented reminder of my desire to become an
administrator. The perusal of this portfolio should reflect what I have been taught as well as what
I have learnt throughout my Diploma in Education journey. Each piece in the portfolio is an
authentic representation of the proficiencies gained and captures my progression throughout the
programme. The portfolio also serves as a source of encouragement to reinforce the idea of what
has been accomplished and to continue perfecting the skills learnt.

Finally, this portfolio provides an opportunity for me to engage in continuous reflection and gain
a deeper appreciation of what will be required of me to become a successful administrator.
