Good evening everyone!

My name is Haley Lamont and as most of you already know, I am a senior in First Colonial’s
Legal Studies Academy. My senior project paper was an analysis of Neonatal Abstinence
Syndrome. Although this is a very common issue amongst women and children, very little is
known about the topic. First, NAS is a condition developed by infants when their mothers use
and abuse drugs. This can have both long and short term effects on the child ranging in
severity.

As for today, Thank you all so much for coming out to support. Donated items from today will
benefit CHKD in Norfolk, to provide for the children in the NICU and PICU. In addition to today’s
donation, I have had donation boxes at Old Donation School to gather new toys and craft
products for the children at CHKD.
