Mitigating Circumstances

Mitigating circumstances are defined as circumstances that are acute, severe,


unforeseen and outside a student’s control that occur immediately before or during
the assessment period in question.

‘The assessment period’ is defined as follows:

Examination Non-attendance = day of the examination


Late Coursework = the coursework deadline date
Non-submission of coursework = the coursework deadline date and the 10 working
days late coursework period
