To Whom This May Concern,

This letter is to introduce Jose Perez as an applicant for your new grad program. I have served as his Maternal-Child
Nursing lecturer and Maternal-Child clinical professor. I have had the pleasure of witnessing his growth and
development as his professor in the above courses. He is goal oriented and able to think critically to implement nursing
interventions in the care of his patients. He is capable of applying nursing theory and ethical principles while providing
safe quality nursing care.

Jose has shown leadership abilities in the clinical area with his peers by volunteering to work in our Faculty-Student run
community wellness clinic and is an exemplar nursing student. In fact, I recommended Jose for a community outreach
worker position at my private practice clinic to which he is currently employed.

Below is a list of his other accomplishments which reflect his assertiveness, qualities, and commitment to advancement
of his education & clinical skills in the field of nursing:

§ Former Executive Board Member and Member of Student Nurses Association and National Nurses Association
§ Member of Beta Gamma Phi National Honors Society & serves as CommunityTutoring Committee Chair (2 yrs)
§ Member of Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society (5 yrs)
§ American Red Cross Member
§ Presentation at Sage Research Conference & Literature Review on “Benefits of Kangaroo Care on Mothers’
Emotional Health, Breastfeeding, Neonatal Thermoregulation, and Decreased on Hospital Stay”
§ Committee member for CSU Channel Islands 1st Annual Global Health Symposium, April 2018
§ Over 103 hrs of volunteer hours including tutoring in the local community
§ Fluent in oral and written Spanish language
§ Certifications: PALS, ACLS, and Fire Cert.

I fully recommend Jose for whatever opportunities that are available to him and stand by my opinion that he will be an
outstanding new registered nurse, nursing scholar, and future nurse leader.

Sincerely,

LDavis
