To Whom It May Concern:

My experiences as a fourth year College of Education student at Ferris State University make
me an ideal candidate for student teaching in the spring of 2019. I have completed all of the
required History, English, and Education courses to achieve my major and minor. I have
passed the PRE/SAT requirements, and this summer I will be taking the Michigan Test for
Teacher Certification, which is the final task that I have yet to complete. I have received my
graduation clearance from Michelle Kelenske, and I am ready to conquer this next task.

I have had a vast amount of experience in the classroom over the past four years. I began
with 10 hours here and there simply observing. I then completed my 40 Hours Pre-Methods
at Crossroads Charter Academy with Mrs. Sandra Smaltz along with 15 hours in the SXI
classroom at Oakridge Middle School. Most recently I have complete 92 hours in Mrs.
Moore’s Classroom at Morley Stanwood High School for my 80 Hours Methods class.

Not only have I had experience in the classroom, but I have also had plenty of volunteer
experience in my community. Most of my volunteer work has involved working with the
youth. I was an after school tutor at Oakridge Upper Elementary for about three years. I was
a U8 and U10 volunteer soccer coach for Oakridge Soccer Club for 2 years. On Sunday’s I’m
an assistant Sunday School Teacher at Wolf Lake United Methodist Church, and during the
summer I participate in Vacation Bible School including set up and take down as well. I have
also volunteered in the SXI at Oakridge Middle School, helped with various food trucks, and
participated in Red Cross blood drives.

With the experience that I have had in the classroom, and the volunteer work that I have
participated in, I can confidently say that I am more than prepared for student teaching. I plan
to bring all of my classroom management, problem solving, communication, and teaching
skills to the table and be the best student teacher that I can be. Thank you for reviewing my
