30 Romantic And Fun Pre-Wedding
Photoshoot Poses That Every Engaged
Couple Needs To Try
JULY 6, 2017 by ELIZABETH CHAN
So your long anticipated engagement or pre-wedding shoot is finally coming up soon and you’ve done all
your preparation, from deciding on a theme to getting your outfits. But how are you going to pose during the
shoot?

Though often overlooked, poses are one of the most important things that couples should prepare for as they
will either make or break their photos. It’s crucial not only to know what poses you intend to do during the
shoot, but also to practice doing them before the shoot so as to familiarise yourself with the pose. After all,
you don’t want to look awkward while posing do you?

So, here we are with a list of pre-wedding photoshoot poses to provide you with some inspiration as you
prepare for your all-important shoot!
1. Kissing Under A Veil
For a unique twist to the typical kissing pose, do it under a veil! Not only is it creative, it gives a hint of
romance and intimacy to your photo too.
2. Hidden Kiss
If you’re feeling coy, why not hide your kiss behind a handy prop that you’ve prepared for the shoot.
3. Piggyback
Enjoy a throwback to your younger dating days as your husband piggybacks you. Or, if
you’re looking for some fun, you could piggyback your husband instead!

4. Lean Against Your Partner’s Back
If you’re aiming for a more mysterious atmosphere for your pictures, try this pose.
There’s something strangely intimate about leaning against your partner’s back.
5. Back Hug
A favourite pose of many couples and understandably so: back hugs are so intimate and
make such a sweet photo, especially close-up where you can see the joy in the couple’s
eyes.

C
6. Show Off Your Ring
What better time to flaunt your wedding ring than at your pre-wedding shoot, right?
7. Cheek Kiss
A simple pose, but one that brings on the feels when you see face of the one kissed
lighting up with happiness.
8. Proposal
Relive your romantic proposal by incorporating it in your pre-wedding shoot too! You
might not have gotten the actual proposal on film, but re-enacting it during your shoot
works just as well.
9. Forehead Kiss
It’s often been said that a forehead kiss surpasses all other kisses as it shows that the
guy truly cares for his partner. What, then, could be a better pre-wedding shoot pose
than this?
10. Lying On Your Partner’s Lap
Lying on your partner’s lap not only shows your willingness to be vulnerable with them,
it’s also a highly intimate pose that makes for a truly sweet picture.
11. Feeding Each Other
An undeniably adorable pose for couples and highly romantic too, feeding your partner is
a classic pre-wedding pose for those opting for a casual shoot.
12. Sweep Your Partner Off Their Feet
Your partner swept you off your feet enough for you to want to marry him/her, so why
not show that literally in your photos?
13. Hand Heart
The usual hand heart may be overused and cheesy, but there are still ways to do it that
won’t look old-fashioned and yet convey your love for your partner at the same time.
14. Lying On The Ground
If you’re not afraid of getting down on the floor and maybe getting a little dirty, then this
is one romantic and intimate pose that you must try!
15. Holding Up Balloons
Holding a bunch of latex balloons are a tad bit too mainstream now, so why not give it a
twist by holding up balloons that spell out your wedding date or good ol’ love?
16. Looking Back At The Camera
This “just-got-caught-by-the-camera” pose gives off a subtly alluring and cheeky vibe
perfect for couples who are looking for a fun pose.
17. Just Before The Kiss
That little moment before a kiss is probably the most beautiful: the anticipation of the
kiss and the happiness at being able to kiss the one you love shows in the couple’s face
and you can’t help but feel touched.
18. Dancing
Whether it’s a simple twirl or a ballroom-style slow dance, these poses look oh-so-
romantic when you’re all dressed up in your wedding gown and suit and gazing lovingly
at your partner.
19. Kissing Her Hand
A chivalrous and tender pose, kissing her hand is sure to make her feel like a princess
being charmed by their prince charming.
20. Hold Her Head
Arguably the sweetest and most intimate pose which shows how much the guy treasures
his girl and wishes to protect her. Holding the bride’s head is the best way to both get a
highly romantic pose and to make your girl feel loved.
21. Leaning On His Chest/Shoulder
A pose that shows your guy’s reliability and protectiveness towards you, it is no wonder
this classic pose is a favourite of many brides.
22. Taking A Stroll
This pose is not a classic for nothing — there is nothing quite as romantic and intimate
as walking hand in hand with your loved one.
23. Running
Similar to walking, but the dynamism of this action has the potential to create some
really fun photos that simply walking just can’t bring out.
24. Holding Your Save The Date
If you’ve painstakingly designed a save the date card for your wedding, why not give it
the attention it deserves by showcasing it in your pre-wedding photos?
25. Intimate Hug
A go-to pose for most couples, hugs make the most natural and beautiful photos when it
comes straight from the heart

.
26. Arms Around Waist
An intimate gesture that demonstrates protectiveness and affection, posing with your
arms around your partner’s waist is a sure way to create a romantic photo.
27. Whispering
The gesture of a secret shared only between the both of you. This is a pose so intimate
and so exclusive, only the both of you will know the true behind-the-scenes of this photo.
And I think that’s just terribly romantic.
28. Gazing Into Each Other’s Eyes
Another oh-so-romantic pose that will cause butterflies to form both in your stomachs
and in the stomachs of those who see the sparks flying in your photos.
29. Gaze Lovingly At Her
Similar to the previous pose, but this time only the guy gazes lovingly at his partner. This
romantic gesture is bound to make any girl jealous of your bride-to-be!
30. Cute And Fun Poses
If you’re not a big fan of overly romantic or saccharine poses these cute and quirky poses
will do the trick! Not only are they fun to do, your personalities will show through the
photos too.

20 Brilliant Props That Will Pump Up
The Fun At Your Pre-Wedding
Photoshoot
JUNE 1, 2017 by ELIZABETH CHAN
The location for your pre-wedding photoshoot is one of the most important considerations for a pretty set of
photos, but it definitely isn’t everything.

What you do in your photos, though often overlooked during the planning stages and left to improvise on the
day of the shoot itself, is actually extremely important too. In fact, it may even help to spice up a plain
photoshoot location and make a big difference to your pre-wedding photos.

So for those who have no idea what props to use to get that extra-amazing set of photos, we’re here to
help! These 20 prop ideas for your pre-wedding photoshoot are sure to jazz up any photo.

1. Smoke bombs
You’ve probably seen smoke bombs being used at events around your country, such as at the Colour Run.
They’re also quickly catching on as the thing to do in your photos, so why not bring it into your pre-wedding
photos too? Be sure to wear white to really bring out the colours of the bombs.

You can get some smoke bombs here or, for those who prefer to be hands-on, here is a tutorial on how to
make a smoke bomb.
2. Flower bouquets
Flower bouquets are probably one of the most common props on the list, but instead of just holding them as
people usually do, play around with them to achieve an extra romantic effect.

=
Here are some flower bouquets that can suit any photoshoot concept, from a bouquet for each
season: summer, spring and autumn, to soft pastel bouquets or colourfully edgy bouquets or timeless white
bouquets.
3. Flower petals
If you want a romantic setting but aren’t too keen on whole bouquets of flowers, you can
opt for just their petals. They might come out to be even more romantic than whole
bouquets, with a tinge of classy even!

For outdoor photoshoots, consider taking them during the cherry blossom or autumn
seasons to take advantage of the natural pink and red-leaved foliage respectively. Here
are some locations to make full use of the seasons’ foliage.

Petals to almost every flower are available, from fake petals of the conventional roses to
the more uniquely pretty hydrangeas for the practical to real flower petals of every
kind for the naturalist.
4. Fairy lights
Fairy lights are a definite must-have for night photoshoot sessions for sweet and
romantic photoshoots. Hang them up to look like little stars twinkling in the background
or wrap them around you and your partner for that extra-intimate shot.

You can buy simple LED bulb fairy lights at Midnight Sparks while Typo sells a wider range of
fairy lights in different designs.
5. Umbrella
Don’t underestimate the simple umbrella, it can actually lend for really romantic photos,
especially when you share it with your partner on a rainy day. It’s also the perfect shield
for you to use to steal a kiss from your partner during the photoshoot!

Wedding umbrellas come in various designs, from clear umbrellas to dainty lace
parasols to heart-shaped umbrellas to paper parasols.
6. Balloons
Another underrated prop — balloons! These simple props come in all shapes and sizes
and can be used to simply give a burst of colour to your photos or even to spell out your
wedding date.

You can get a whole range of balloons from Party Wholesale Centre, from foil to latex,
normal shaped to alphabet balloons.
7. Chalkboard
Take things back to the old school with these chalkboards. They’re perfect because you
can unleash your creativity with them, from writing quirky quotes to saccharine love
messages for your partner on them or to simply announce your wedding.

Chalkboards range in size, from mini chalkboards that can either be handheld or put on
a small easel to bigger sized chalkboards that come with a stand.
8. Banners & Signs
Similar to chalkboards, banners and signs can be used to announce your marriage. They
come in various designs and sizes and can be used more flexibly than chalkboards: you
can hang them up on the wall, wrap it around your partner and yourself à la the fairy
lights or simply have your partner and yourself hold each end of the banner or hold each
sign.
9. Picnic props
Picnic themed pre-wedding shoots are ever popular and understandably so. They not only
make great photos, they’re super easy to prepare for too. Just grab any picnic rug and
basket lying around at home, grab a few snacks from your fridge and you’re done! Even
if you don’t have a mat or basket at home, it’s super easy to find them in shops.

\
10. Instruments
For the music-loving couples, why not bring in your precious instruments as props? They
not only make it much easier and natural for you to pose, they also give that much more
meaning to your pre-wedding photos.
11. A blanket
I know what you’re thinking: why a blanket of all things? But they actually lend to really
romantic and intimate photos with your partner when you’re wrapped up close to each
other. Just make sure to bring a pretty blanket that’s big enough to be wrapped around
the both of you!

If you don’t have a pretty blanket to use for your shoot, check out Etsy’s collection of
pretty blankets.
12. Bicycles
I’m not talking about those cool mountain bikes or racing bikes, but cute, vintage bikes
with a basket that give a rustic vibe to your wedding photos. Though, of course, if you’re
both bikers then the former would do great too!
13. Sparklers
While sparklers are pretty enough to be featured in your photos without much edits, their
true magic is unleashed when you take long exposure photos. Request your
photographer to take some long exposure shots for you and write away with the
sparklers.
14. Your wedding ring
If you’ve got it, flaunt it! What better place to flaunt your wedding ring than in your pre-
wedding photos?

Check out these unique rings you can adorn your other fingers with in your pre-wedding
photos and even in your daily life.
15. Your phones
Take a picture of your phone taking a picture of you and your partner for a truly unique
phone-ception pre-wedding photo. Your phone can also show your childhood pictures or
your couple pictures or anything, really. Just let your creativity take the reign.
16. Your wedding veil
The veil is usually worn by the women during weddings or in some photos as a
background piece, but it shouldn’t! Just look at how these humble wedding veils can
create such stunning photos.
Check out these beautiful wedding veils from David’s Bridal and The Knot.

17. A Window
Yes, you read right. A window. How can a window make your pre-wedding photo special,
you ask? Simply have your picture taken from the reflection of a window and admire the
breathtaking result.
18. Sweets
Just as its name implies, sweets like lollipops and cotton candy not only taste sweet, they
contribute to very sweet couple photos too! Share a cotton candy or steal a quick kiss
from behind a large candy.

Check out Melville Candy for lollipops of various designs that you can use for your pre-
wedding photoshoot.
19. Your pets
Okay so your pets aren’t exactly props, but you can bring them in to make your pre-
wedding photos extra cute because hey, animals are probably the cutest things to exist.
Other than your partner.
20. Your friends
Okay, again, your friends are definitely more than just props. But they make a great
addition to your photos, especially if they’re a crazy bunch with an endless list of antics
to pull. Also, what better way to make your closest friends truly a part of your wedding?
