Dimensions for Cutting Back Cable The protective tube with zip should be pushed 300 mm over the cable sheath and should extend 50 mm underneath the strain relief in the rack. In the case of outdoor cables mark fiber buffers at a point approx 3200 mm (in the case of racks with a height of 2.6 m) after the strain relief using marking labels (see also section 7.3). Observe binding radii! In the case of outdoor cables, these should be at least 15 x diameter; see Tables 7 to 9 for indoor cables and distribution cables. 23-P197-P131-1-7631 Cable sheath. Cable core Fig. 4 Remove Sheath Halves al Mark cable above the rack with marking labels. - Distribution cables with up to 10 fibers are fed up to the clampling plate complete with sheath. — In the case of outdoor cables cut into the cable sheath at the cutting point until the aluminum sheath is reached using saw wire = In the case of indoor cables make round cut with knife. — Make two parallel cuts opposite to each other with the sheath cutters starting at the circular cut (do not cut too deeply). - Remove both sleeve halves up to the circular cut (Fig. 4). - Remove core wrap and remove traces of Petrolat compound with cloth. — Cut off dummy elements, aramid yarn, e.g. Kevlar, and central member at the cutting point. 23-P197-P131-1-7631 16 ( Cable Hot air } Buffers Bild 5 Smooth Buffers - Smooth butters by heating with hot air (Fig. 5) take care not to damage buffers by overheating! 7.2 Secure Cables Proceed as follows: - Fix outdoor or indoor cables at upper fixing comb. - Combine butters between lower fixing comb and guide channel over a length of 500 mm using helical hose (Fig. 6). - Insert in the left-hand guide of the pivot arm. 16 23-P197-P131-1-7631 Steel wire support (can be released) Hook and loop fastener Buffers Pivot arm Fig. 6 Combine Buffers with Helical Hose 23-P197-P131-1-7631 Helical hose % Distribution rack 7.3 Cut Back Buffers Proceed as follows when cutting back buffers - Mark cutting measurement on the buffer, in the case of indoor cable 1200 mm and in the case of outdoor cable 3250 mm or 2750 mm from the cutting edge (Fig. 7). - Cut into buffer tube with stripping tool by making several cuts (max 300 mm), break-off carefully and draw off. - Clean fibers individually to free them from filler (e.g. with soft paper tissue, do not use alcohol).
