What did you learn about technology coaching and technology leadership from completing this field 1. Briefly des experience? This professional development session included preparing for and presenting at Dutchtown Eimentary for a professional learning day. The professional | development session: Personalized Leaning Ed Tech Speed Dating was a 2 hour workshop in collaboration with other faculty members presenting during the workshop, Each faculty presenter including myself were responsible for presenting on a different tech tool that related to personalized learning. As a result of preparing and presenting this professional development I learned a lot about organizing and facilitating a professional development. Each of the faculty members were first time presenters and needed a lot of motivation and resources to present their topic. To prepare the faculty members to model and. present on technology enhanced learning experiences that align with personalized learning I had to give them several resources and ideas. Before presenting to the staff I made sure all presenters were comfortable and had adequate mater al to share for the Speed Dating sessions. As a technology coach and facilitator, I learned that adults need modeling and scaffolding for technology best practices. Also, preparation and organization are key for a successful ‘professional development session. 2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected above, Use the language of the PSC ‘standards in your answer and reflect on all 3—knowledge, skills, and dispositions.) Knowledge (PSC 2.1, 2.2) In order to model and facilitate the use of researched based practices for teachers, [had to understand how the Georgia standards of Exeellence can be utilized and implemented with the different tools across grades Kindergarten through fifth grade. In addition, to complete this ‘professional development workshop it was necessary to have an understanding of personalized learning and specific technology tools that support students ‘and teachers with personalized leaming. As a technology coach I had to model and engage the teachers on specific tech tools that relate to personalized learning. Skalls (PSC 2.2, 52) — Planning and preparation were needed to complete this two hour workshop. Ail of the materials and resources for each session had to be prepared and aligned to the county"s professional learning goals and Georgia Standards of Excellene. Also, allowing the teachers to have time during the face-to-face sections to practice integrating tools aligned to the Georgia Standards of Excellence within their lessons wes very important. Most importantly the teachers received several resources on integrating personalized learning with tech tools in their classrooms. Dispositions ~ (PSC 6.3)- In order to make this professional development workshop effective, my level of enthusiasm and positivity were key charactetistics to have with faculty members. Also, making the workshop fun, engaging, and informative were necessary for teacher engagements. As technology coach it's important 10 understand the different needs and learning styles ofthe participants to keep them engaged and learning. 3. Deseribe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed? Pm not aware ofthe direct impact on student learning due to the fact that I don't see al the teachers inthe school weekly. However, I know the teachers and staff knowledge has changed, The professional development workshop provided the teachers and staff members with tools to that help with personalized learning in their classrooms, The teachers level of understanding regarding personalized and different technology tools has increased. The teachers are better equipped to introduce tecnology tools to their students. A brief evaluation form was given to teachers after the workshop to also gauge the impact on. faculty and staff
