Dear school Administration,

I am interested in the position of band director/general music teacher at Eastside Middle

School and appreciate being considered. I bring varied experiences to the table. I have been in

theatre, choir, bands of different sizes and types, chamber groups, and a show choir ensemble.

I believe that students should be well rounded and given a variety of different experiences,

including exposure to non-Western music and instruments and technology. I believe in learning

through doing, not necessarily lecturing at students. I think a teacher should tailor their

teaching to their students and feel this will be beneficial for the diverse population at this

school. If students aren’t interested in what they’re learning, they won’t absorb as much

material.

Thank you for considering me for this job,

Isabel Wood
